What a delight, we had forgotten how good the Baron Palms Resort was. For five years now we have trawled the other hotels and now we have rediscovered the Palms we will not be staying anywhere else. We stayed there 5 years ago, on our first Sharm trip and have been bi-annual visitors ever since.

The rooms are very clean, very comfortable and the service is second to none. Even on the beach you are sprayed with rose water to cool you, served with complimentary fruit cocktail sticks and offered cooling aromatic towels on a regular basis.

The spa is a haven of tranquillity and the hotel staff are so happy, pleasant and accommodating you think you are in heaven. They seem most happy to be working there, not like most other hotels where they are sullen and look tired.

The only reason I have given location 4/5 is that if you are not a diver or a snorkeller there is nothing in the vicinity to see or do, but if like me you like to relax and take in the rays and the ambience this won't be a problem. There is lovely architecture to be seen in 'Old Sharm' but this takes not too long.

We will be back soon, maybe even for Christmas as we are missing the lifestyle and the sun already.

There was talk of a 'loyalty scheme' lets hope so because we will definitely be valid for it!

Room Tip: Request a pool facing room and you will have the sun on your terrace until mid afternoon.

Dear Guest

Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review sharing your vacation impressions here with us at the Baron Palms Resort, we are pleased that overall you enjoyed your stay and appreciate your strive to recommend our sunny resort in the future.
However, it came to our focus that you highlighted a few issues of concern. Regarding the mentioned mosquito outline, please be informed that our Housekeeping Department alongside with Pest Control company are scrutinizing the problem and doing their best to ensure our guests a relaxing mosquito-free holiday by fumigating the hotel territory and providing mosquito devices in the rooms, this issue, nevertheless, will be regularly monitored to avoid any further concerns of the kind. Regarding the public bathrooms issue, please notify that our Executive Housekeeper will do his best to maintain all public areas crystal clean and monitor the proper condition of the bathrooms to meet the hotel standard of excellence at a high level. We always strive to ensure total guest satisfaction, all the way to the small extra touches – like offering cooling towels at a hot noon to provide our esteemed guests with an utmost hospitality and make them feel at home - we appreciate your acknowledgement of this. We are glad to hear our staff members managed to prove a high class service, ultimate care and commitment to excellence as a significant prerogative in our customer service approach.
We look forward to welcoming you back to The Baron Palm very soon.

First time for me in Egypt, though second and third time for others in party. However, all thought the Palms was the best hotel they had stayed at so far. Went for short break of 5 days, so were there for the sun. And wasn't disappointed. Hotel itself is very nice, and clean. Beds were verging on boards, though we asked for mattress toppers and change of pillows, which made them slightly better. Lots of choice foodwise, so definitely did not go hungry. All staff, including animation team, were helpful, polite and always had a smile. Entertainment could have been a little better but were in bed fairly early to get up first thing for the sun. Beach was nice but to enjoy sea, had to walk out on jetty. However, pool was amazing and so warm. Was going to go for a camel ride but couldn't actually get a price before getting on it, so didn't bother as we had heard stories of this becoming quite expensive and not being let down until payment was forthcoming. Had a room with a pool view which was nice, and looked amazing all lit up at night. Nice little boulevard leading down to the beach with a variety of shops. We were not hassled as I was led to believe we would be, nor did the waiters ignore us if we had not tipped them. We did tip a few, as well as the bedroom staff at the end of the holiday however, just because they were great at their job. Staff from the spa were a little more pushy, but still polite. All in all, came back with a great tan and feeling relaxed. Only negative point were the mosquitoes. I don't think there was one person who didn't have any bites, even those who claim they never get bitten. Whether it was the time of year, or just a bad year, I don't know, but some people were literally covered in them, and one lady I spoke to had to go to hospital for a anti-histermine injection. We were there for literally 15 minutes before one of our party had been bitten 3 times. However, would go back again.

Room Tip: Never agree to a Spa treatment the first time the reps come round. By the fourth day, they had slas...

If you are looking for a wonderful relaxing winter sun holiday then this is the place for you.
This was our first holiday in Egypt and we weren't quite sure what to expect. Perhaps the hotel isn't quite 5 star but the service and cleanliness certainly is. Because the Baron Palms is a little smaller than the neighbouring hotels you do receive a far more personal service - from the man who cleaned our room to our Cosmos rep. This hotel has the best stretch of beautiful beach and a lovely jetty to walk out on and view the stunning marine life. The pool area was spotless and every sun-bed washed down each morning and nice to have choice of heated or non-heated pool.
Food in the restaurant was first class with alot of choice. The Egyptians are having a very hard time at the moment and their tourism industry needs our support so book your ticket!

We chose this hotel because of the photo's and the trip advisor review, the food was unbelievable, a nice variety, different themed nights and if what was on at the main dinning hall didn't suit you then you could book at one of the other restaurants. The Egyptian restaurant was fantastic.
The pool area is always kept clean and the staff are fantastic at keeping your beer/water level topped up, the pool is split into two parts warm and freezing ! which is a shame because we'd loved to have used the whole pool.

The Animation team were always round trying to get us up doing Beach Volleyball, water aerobics, darts and even after the main show of an evening they were trying to get us to come for a dance at the Now & Zen Club, they where all genuine nice people and would go out of there way to walk over and say hi if they spotted you by the pool

The only thing that did let us down was the guy in the hotel Spa room, he was a little pushy with the different massages and he didn't explain what the benefits or differences between each one was and kept saying "you need this one and this one, and this is how much" if he would of explained why we needed it im 100% certain we would of had one (or all three), then he called our room twice and also came up to us at the pool which was an awkward 5 minutes which is a shame as my wife was really looking forward to a massage.

Our room was nice and clean, shower was lovely and powerful, the rooms view over looked the main road which wasn't a great view however we where hardly in our rooms.

The rest of the staff are really really friendly and cant do enough, the main girls at the desk even came out around the pool and asked if we was ok or anything they could do to improve our stay.

The main thing that sums up how great this place is, is by simply speaking to the other guests around us, most where either back for there 3rd or 4th time within a few years or were 1st timers like me and my wife and are already looking to come back, we had a wonderful time and we WILL be back!

Room Tip: If you want a good view pay more and get a poolside view as our room faced the road full of unfinish...

We chose Egypt for a short break to ensure we got the most out of a short holiday in relation to being able to enjoy sunshine , warmth, beach and pool etc , the journey is fine for a 5 day break, the flight is doable and worth it to get the beauty of Egypt ... we got all of the above in bucket loads...

The hotel is lovely and the staff are friendly as mentioned many times in reviews , however in my opinion it is not worthy of a 5 star rating due to being a little tired and dated for the money paid , I suppose it depends on what people perceive as 5 star , if you are thinking The Mayfair in London , then no it is not 5 star inside the hotel , however staff all work very hard , the pool is amazing and the food and service are wonderful and perfectly good for a relaxing holiday , if you want a top class hotel then I do not feel this is the one for you ( or me !) and if you have a budget to match then you may be disappointed , we were not disappointed at all but would be happy to spend more to get a better standard , the area itself is superb..

The beds were very hard which suited me just fine due to having a back problem , the pillow menu i did not understand so just kept what we had !!!

Even though we would probably try somewhere else with a higher placing on the list , this does not mean it is not a good hotel , just personal choice ...

Our teenage son came with us and had room of his own which was huge , if you had more than one older child they could easily share and both have a bathroom each too !!

The room view is not great if not a poolside view , however this did not really bother us as we were outside most of the time . The bar above the pool is a great place to congregate , music , WIFI and a good place to chill out while meeting the rest of the group , family ... ( a lovely little afternoon tea interlude too )

The food was very good , staff were excellent and happy to help in any way , rooms very clean , we did not go mad on tipping , just the cleaner at the end of the week as he worked so hard and Mostafa who worked in the beauty salon ... he really knows his stuff

The diving in resort was superb , we were well looked after and felt safe and it was very good value for money for the try dive , snorkelling is remarkable and enough to keep any water baby happy , please do not walk on the coral reef ! it will kill it ..... use the Jetty ( believe me we saw many !!! )

The beach food was basic and wonderful , best fish I have ever had .. ( anywhere )

Egyptian place was lovely but very rushed , we were looking forward to a long drawn-out meal relaxing and chatting but the food is presented that quickly it felt like we were being moved on , the whole meal was done in under 40 minutes ... .... shame as nice romantic venue ... food very good though

The Indian along the beach is wonderful , not in the all inclusive but it was top notch if you don't mind spending extra which we did not , it was cooked to perfection and we had Merlot which was lovely , we sat and watched lion fish coming to the shore with all the spiny fins stuck up above the water ... amazing ...

Poolside bar , great , also a good place to get a late continental breakfast which I did most of my mornings , a simple yoghurt , juice , coffee and pastry kept me very happy , Tho I did love the egg chef in the main restaurant too , his omelette was perfect ...

I used the spa for pedicure and massage , pedicure was amazing , best I have ever had and I have had plenty , however the spa itself would benefit from more female staff I feel ..

The small bazar that you walk through is lovely and authentic , however beware of the camel !! although he was lovely , we ended up with a crap picture on my own phone and my son whisked away for a 5 minute walk ( not discussed ) all for £40.00 ... admire him from afar !!

All in all a good standard of hotel , good food ( you certainly wont starve ) good staff , a very attentive manager , the entertainment team worked so so hard tho I feel with a very limited budget , maybe this will change when the hotel changes to Thomas Cooke next year .. The current entertainment may keep little ones happy but it will have to change to keep the older groups happy when it becomes an adult only in 2014..

Please be patient with the people touting for treatments etc ... they are just trying to earn a living , this country is in crisis , a simple no thank you will be fine ... we did see some rude behaviour from tourists towards the local staff ..

All in all a great holiday for hubby and me and son .. aged 16 ...
