My wife and I and 2 other couples visited the Baron Palms for 7 days from 11th January 2010 till 18th January 2010.
We flew from Newcastle Airport with Thomsonfly Airways the flight was on time and no problems.
The transfer from the airport to the Baron Palms was about 15 minutes. The check in to the Hotel was very good. Prior to our holiday I emailed the hotel requesting 3 adjoining rooms with a pool view. To our delight when shown to our rooms we had a wonderful view of the pools. Our rooms were on the Cleopatra Wing on the second floor room Nos 245,247,249. The rooms are spotless. You are provided with bathrobes and slippers for the duration of your stay. The rooms are cleaned every day and you are provided with clean towels every day should you require them. Tea and coffee making facilities were
In our room free of charge. There was a mini bar but it was not free. We got a bottle of water each day in our room and you could also get bottles of water from the Restaurant if you needed more.
Breakfast was served in the Tiran Restaurant plenty of choice of food for everyone We also ate in the Tiran Restaurant for lunch too.
In the evening we ate in the Paradise restaurant once and we ate in the Egyptian Restaurant 2 times you have to book these and are free. The waiters in the Tiran are all so friendly especially Mansour who we found particularly good.
On our first evening at the Tiran Restaurant my friend was wearing dress shorts and there was no problem but later on in the week he wore them again and was asked to go and change into long trousers it does say men must have long trousers on in the evening but I think it depends which member of staff is on duty at the door.
Most nights after our meal we sat on the Terrace for drinks once again the waiters here were all very good as soon as you’re drink was finished they would bring you another drink without even asking.
During our stay there the weather was very good about 26C during the day.
On the Sunday evening the day before our departure there was a storm it started about 8PM and the Lightning was very spectacular. The rain caused some slight damage in the Hotel but nothing too serious some rooms leaked water and all the pathways were flooded because there was no drains for the water to go but the staff all mucked in and made a wonderful job of cleaning up.
During the storms the phone lines and mobile phones and internet connections were lost for several hours. We were travelling back home on Monday and our coach to take us to the airport was due to collect us at 3pm but because of the storms there was delays at the Airport and it did not arrive till 8pm but this was not too much of a delay considering the problems they had with the weather and communications.
Very enjoyable 7 days and would recommend this hotel to everyone.

My wife and I, in the company of my brother and his wife, spent 10 wonderful days in the Baron Palms far away from the cold and snow of home. On our arrival we were warmly greeted by Elsayed at reception. Indeed, Elsayed quickly ironed out a few small concerns that we initially had concerning our room location. After two flights and delays due to the bad weather in Britain we were tired and probably not at our best at that particular time of the evening! At all times Elsayed remained courteous and professional and kept smiling as he reassured us that our concerns were unfounded. We soon realised that our room was indeed well located and, while not luxurious, it was certainly comfortable, roomy and very clean.
In fact, cleanliness and hygiene throughout the hotel and its surroundings are of a very high standard. Management are always on hand to oversee all tasks that staff are undertaking!
Food in the Tiran restaurant is good and starters, soups and a wide range of desserts are always very well presented and tasty. There could probably have been a wider choice of main courses to suit my particular tastes but we never left the meal table feeling that we could have eaten more! Breakfasts are always good and the omelettes excellent!
We all enjoyed the menu at the Paradise Restaurant and on one evening the Egyptian Restaurant. The fillet steak in the Paradise was always cooked exactly as required.
We were on an all-inclusive package and found no problem getting locally produced beverages to suit!
All of the staff and in particular the waiters were always very friendly, courteous and attentive. We never had a problem ordering or waiting for a drink to arrive. The waiters quickly noted our requirements and on many occasions we didn't have to order - the correct drinks simply appeared!
The pleasant dispostion of the staff certainly made our stay all the more enjoyable and it speaks volumes about the importance that management obviously places on customer care.
The large pools with one warmer than the other are excellent and the surrounding gardens are beautiful. The beach area is also very clean and we enjoyed our walks through the boulevard and along the promenade. The shop vendors gave some but not much hassle with throw away remarks which were often funny but never offensive.
The beach restaurant could be improved and some of the beach waiters more vigilant. Perhaps more staff would speed the food along here at lunch time.
All in all we greatly enjoyed ourselves which is of course the point of going on holiday. This was our first visit to Egypt and we hope to return and certainly would have no hesitation staying at the Baron Palms again.

Stayed in this hotel back in March last year. Went for a week for our silver wedding anniversary. Everything great nothing too much trouble. No problems with food or drinks. never had a problem being served anywhere. waiters were bringing us our drinks as we went into the bar once they knew you. So good that on return from the holiday within two weeks we had booked to return this year for two weeks. Roll on March
