“Didnt want to come home”

Arrived on the 27th of may for two weeks as we were out last year in October and loved the place.. As it was our 2nd trip to the hotel we were supplied with bottles of water every day.. rooms are big and cleaned everyday thanks to youssef and sammy. Food was good always found something to eat.. our waiter was amazing abdullah always showing u to a table and remembering ur drinks of by heart... entertainment team were fantastic... receptionist staff were so friendly especially kimo and mena. Bar staff were so lovely especially mohammed after working all them hours he still always managed to have a smile on his face. Although one of the bar staff would just lift your glass and not bother asking you do u want an other drink which I thought was very rude. Sunset cruise with carlos and abdullah was brilliant we did it on a Sunday and a bonus was we even got to see dolphines was well worth the money... its the staff that makes this hotel amazing just a few to mention mohammed, abdullah, carlos, abass, mostafa, were the ones that stood out for me and always willing to help u.. we did notice that there wasnt alot of staff compared to the amount of staff that was there in october but all and all I defo recommend this hotel ive been to alot of places on holiday but this has to be one of my favourites its that good u dont want to go back home.. hope to be out in october or for xmas. Keep up the good work.

Paid for an up grade room was average falling apart, toilet broke, towel rail hanging on by a thread, bed so hard was absolutly ridiculous, they think putting about 3 mattress protectors helps no it doesn't!!
The food for breakfast was the same and quite dire, lunch didn't get any better occasional dinner food was nice when children haven't got there hands in the food yep digging through with there hands was the last straw we had another week and as part of all inclusive didn't eat in the restaurant again we both had dioherra so gave it a miss for the remaining time and or course soon got better.
Hammocks and ping pong table had been taken away within the 1st week of our stay, proberly because of certain people wrecking everything and good luck if you want a decent nights sleep children running up and down 3am ridiculous people screaming slamming doors, I understand staff have to clean dishes but when you have already paid for an upgrade and all you can here all night is clanging of dishes as its practically right outside the bedroom and a lovely wake up call when there dropped and wake you up at 4am.
The only reason am even giving this shambles of a hotel 2 star and not a 1is the pool staff at the quite pool were lovely.
Top it all of when you check out at 12 you are not allowed any food or drink without paying which is all this hotel wants out of you money!!
Good reviews are made from people that have been to this hotel a stupid amount of times, 1st time and last for us much nicer hotels in sharm and probably better prices as well. Didn't expect 5 star as some might think just expected a nice stay form all the good reviews don't be fooled if it's your first time!!! For returning guests and if it your first time be prepared to get ignored

We have just returned from a two week holiday at St George, and had a fantastic time! We travelled as two couples aged 20-22 and decided to stay at the St George due to the good reviews - we were not disappointed! It was our first visit to Sharm, and having previously stayed in Hurghada last year, this was by far a more enjoyable holiday.

The hotel was generally clean, well presented and the room was no less than we expected. The tv in the room was the only basic aspect, but who goes to Sharm to watch tv!?
The hotel caters to all ages and groups, with the Mermaid pool offering music, activities and entertainment throughout the day, while the spa and quiet pool provided opportunities for rest and relaxation.

The food at the hotel was good and did not become repetitive as each night had a different theme on a two week rota. Even if the theme did not cater to your tastes, there was always fresh bread, salad and a chef who would cook pasta with your choice of ingredients. This was a particular highlight which we enjoyed twice a day, although we also enjoyed all of the other food too! Breakfast provided a wide variety of choice, however this did not vary from day to day.

The animation team were fantastic and made the effort to engage with all of the guests, unless they showed no interest in becoming involved with activities. A wide range of activities were offered for all ages, both in and out of the pool.

The staff around the hotel made the experience even more enjoyable as they were friendly and always helpful. This helped to create a welcoming and happy atmosphere within the hotel. In particular one of the barmen, Carlos, was always in high spirits and became a close friend during our stay. His personality shone through during the sunset cruise which was offered by the hotel that was run by him. Everyone enjoyed this experience and we would recommend it to anyone, you may even be lucky enough to see dolphins like we did.

From our stay we can see why so many people return year after year, and would happily return ourselves next year.

Stayed between 7-19th June 2014 and I cannot recommend this hotel enough to anyone!
I was always weary of going on holiday to Egypt but I honestly cannot wait to go back to this hotel in October (fingers crossed).
The food was 9/10. There was always something on offer for the fussy eaters like myself. When you ate out elsewhere you realised the hotel food wasn't actually bad at all!
The pool area was excellent, animation team was incredibly friendly along with all bar staff and especially Carlos shouting 'sunset cruuuuiise'. I just wish the bar opened a bit earlier than 10am, not for alcohol by any means. Just for a drink around the pool as it was 35degreea before 10am most mornings and you need fluids in that heat.
Every member of staff was incredibly friendly an approachable for advice or any questions.
There's no words for the hotel an the experience in sharm el sheikh. Such a beautiful place.

- Oscar.

My family and I have just returned from our 2 week stay at this hotel. This was my 9th visit and it just gets better and better, we are already planning our 10th visit ! From the moment we arrived it was literally like coming home, we had our usual rooms overlooking the quiet pool and yes you now have to pay to upgrade but its still amazing value, rooms are big and spacious and kept immaculately clean with some great towel art designs to welcome you home after a hard days sunbathing...lol We had 2 cleaners this time, both lovely who couldn't do enough for us, always smiling and making sure we were ok and had everything we needed. Infact all the staff are just fantastic but I have to give a special mention to the guys in the restaurant, Sayed, Abdulla, Mena, Ibrahim, Magdy and the 2 Mohameds who all really went out of their way to look after us so well and laugh and joke with us everyday....Abdulla and Mena you are definitely going in the pool next holiday...haha, the animation team who work tirelessly plus the bar staff, Melad, Fady,Ata, Carlos,Mostafa and all the guys in the bars who work so hard but are always ready with a smile and a joke and of course to the wonderful Khalid who books the bus for us everyday and the star that is Michael Front of House Manager, these people and all the other staff who I haven't mentioned are the reason this hotel is loved so much and why they have so many repeat guests. There have been a few changes for the better for example at the noisy pool Melad comes around with cocktails for everyone and the towel boys come around with cold flannels which really is a luxury and the hotel now provides a loyalty programme for repeat guests with several rewards like a discount on your laundry, sunset cruise etc... we did the sunset cruise with Carlos and it was amazing, we also went to Tiran Island and my sons did the introduction to diving which they loved. We celebrated 2 birthdays in Nathans, the restaurant above the dining room and if you go there I would highly recommend the prawn cocktail, it was the best ever and again Mohamed really made our evening so special. As for the food in general it was very good with different themes most nights, although some people make me laugh when they say it is repetitive because I wonder what they eat at home for me it was lovely not to have to cook, be waited on hand and foot and no washing up. 3 nights a week there is a singer, Adele, who plays guitar outside the restaurant and my son Andy and I sang with him on these nights, actually we took over from him so a massive thank you to Adele for allowing us to perform it was an awesome experience and one I look forward to repeating next time. The age range of our group was from 79 to 2yrs old and everyone of us had a fabulous holiday so once again, thank you St George, we cannot wait to return

Have just arrived home from a two week stay at this hotel. Overall I found the food good, with a huge choice every day. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. We had a room on the second floor overlooking the road. However, we were not disturbed by road noise and found it peaceful. Standards of cleaning were good in the rooms and over all the hotel. I would return to this hotel.

Having never been to Egypt before this hotel is exactly what you need, from the minute we arrived we felt welcome. The rooms are large and spacious & the air con is fantastic. It's that good you have to turn it up on a night or you will freeze as we found out. All the staff are extremely friendly & will do any thing to help you.

Entertainment team
Well what can I say mesho, mamo, miena,Claire & val made the days fly by all so friendly and not pushy into getting you to do things. They will ask everyone to join in so no one will feel left out and they will always be happy to talk to you. The 3 Egyption lads speak very good English and are great fun to be around. Dj meina knocks out some great tunes during the day.

Staff
If you have read a lot of the reviews on here there will be one bar mans name that appears a lot CARLOS the life and soul of the hotel he is true asset to the hotel so funny and quick witted. He sells the sun set cruise which by all accounts is well the money(we didn't get round to it). Also must give a mention to the 2 young lads who serve the drinks in the restaurant they are quick with the service and bring you refills with out you even asking and always polite and smiling. Ahmed at the beach bar is also a true character smiley happy and a pleasure to talk to.

Food
For the price you pay you get great value for money. If like me you will try anything you will be fine if your fussy you may struggle. Fantastic breakfast full English minus the bacon as it's a Muslim country but the omelettes and scrambled egg are to die for, a vast array of pastries are always on offer and there's always yogurts and fresh fruit. Lunch has about 8 choices including a sandwich bar, salad bar and two soups so always something to eat. Dinner always a theatre grill and some thing cooked on the BBQ.

We stayed in room 2054 on the front of the hotel so it was quiet our cleaner was brilliant every day we returned to towel art ranging from a monkey one day to a giant crocodile that filled the bed on the last day

All in all we really enjoyed our two week stay here everyone was lovely & friendly

Room Tip: Take a large cup with you as the cups are small, they don't mind you doing this
