Nice setting....Awful Food

2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 11 Jun 2012
visited in 2011 and paid £750 each for a fortnight. The hotel was full of Russians and the food catered for that. Everything was layered in salt and tasted disgusting. So bad that we called for a delivery from the local McDonalds for the lat few nights.

The hotel itself is beautiful and snokelling is fantastic. Beaware of late night drinking in the hotel nightclub. We were stung with a £100 bill one morning as the All inlcusive ended at midnight and the price of drinks was astronomical for Egypt.

Consider spending more and staying somwhere else.

Ive only just got around to writing a reveiw - I first stayed in royal rojana back in feburary 2008 school half term for one week with my boyfriend, we payed £420 each for the all inclusive stay and what a bargain that was - had a fantastic first time experience staying in egypt. There were only a few other english people in the hotel and we didnt mind this, to us the whole point of getting away is to experience different culture, so the fact that it was mainly russian guests in this hotel was ok and we didnt have any problems with it at all.

The food, and marine life down by the sea were the best parts to the holiday, there was also a small shopping centre in namama bay, a short taxi ride away - i wouldnt say much for the shops but thats just my personal taiste, however the few bars and two nightclubs there were good fun if you want to get out of your hotel. Overall the hotel was good, nice and clean, staff coulnt do enough for you, even tho they worked 18 hour days for a month then had a week off then did it all over again in the blistering heat - for a probable pitance for a wage. the hotel did have slopes and steps, so i would not recommend this for the elderly or disabled people, however that would depend on the individual.

I liked this hotel so much i booked up to go again with my mum auntie and sister in the october (2008) and again had another really good week there, nothing i could fault with it. This time tho we payed £600 per person, as this was the going rate for most of the hotels for that time of year.

I would defanitily recommend this hotel if your paying £500 or under for it especially if your going in the winter months of oct - march. you would be getting a good deal.
i would also recommend doing a boat day trip to sail around the red sea - its fantastic!!!

Went out and joined the family, who were already staying at the Royal Rojana for a weekend break. We were dreading it after reading the reviews on here!!!
But, from the minute we entered we were made to feel more than welcome, the place was spotless, plenty of choice at the bars and the food was lovely, with a few places to choose from.
Although the beach was small, it was lovely to walk out into the sea and see the fish from the floating jetty. The pool was great, especially the one with the three water slides, our kids were entertained all day long.
Location was a little out of the way, but you could walk to Soho Square if you wanted to, however we weren't there long enough to venture out of the complex.
Can't wait to go again, roll on October!!!

my dad took me 21 and my sister who is 15 to the royal rojana for a nice holiday and all we had where problems. first there wasnt one english person there everyone was russian.
my sister wanted her hair braided and they wanted £35 english pounds we said no way! so i asked a russian couple how much they had paid and they said £18 english pounds half the bloody price! so my dad and i asked how comes they wanted to charge us double? there answer was it was russian season they get good discount!! my sister wanted to use the internet they charged her £4.50 gbp, the same amount to use the pool tables
at night time coming back from the casino all you could smell was really bad drains, its all uphill its like being in a gym but outside, the receptionist where arrogant, unhelpful.
and the thing is egypt is a reaaly nice place i loved going out of the hotel and doing other things, i would definantly go back to egypt but never to that hotel!! oh and when my dad went to pay our room bill he was told by one receptionist it was 1800 egyption pounds, so he went to a cash machine drew it out and when he went to pay it there was a different receptionist who told him it was 1900 egyption pounds, my dad said so in the space of 5 mins its gone up 100, they then spoke arabic between them and made up a lie that because he was paying cash it was 1900 if he paid by card it was 1800. i dont know where this hotel got 5 stars from cos it aint even worth 1.

Stayed there 23-30 December 2007

I promised my new Italian friends who I met in Royal Rojana Resort to write a review on this hotel which I will do when I have a bit more time but for now - please just believe me and do not book your holiday in this hotel!!! You will be disappointed for sure!!!!

I am Russian myself living in London. My parents are still in Moscow so I go to visit them sometimes. We've travelled with my mother to Egypt from Moscow two times since April 2007 and we are not the richest people..Travel packages to Egypt are very cheap in Russia. Anyone can afford them! I have no idea why!!! We paid 400 pounds for both of us for 8 days/7 nights, all inclusive, flights and insurance!! That's why there are sooo many russians around!!!!

From my Italian friends I heard how much they paid for their holiday and I was shocked..

Of course if one pays a lot of money, one expects a good service, a clean room where everything works, nice food etc - that all you cannot get in this hotel!!!!

I will write more as I promised but for now

DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!!!!!!
