one of the worst hotels i have ever been to, more of a 3 stars hotels not 4 , we couldn't find a room in any hotel due to lack of availability of rooms due to feast vacations , so we checked in sabina resort , but in general , the resort needs a serious renovation for the rooms and the pool !!

Firstly if your worried about visiting Egypt because of the current problems in the country... don't! Sharm is perfectly safe and the security in the area is top notch! Now back to the hotel, I honestly cannot fault a single member of staff at The Maramara they go out of their way to do EVERYTHING for you, be it drink refills while you sun yourself to having your towel ready on your favourite sun lounger first thing in the morning. The kitchen staff go out of their way to make meals if you don't fancy what is available from the buffet and as I have an allergy they made sure I knew every day what food I could and couldn't eat they were superb. The rooms are clean and comfortable and are cleaned everyday and I trusted the staff with my things and they deserved every ounce of it. The entertainment team Alex and Julia are hilarious and will invite you to do anything and everything we had a fantastic night at a beach party (Well worth it!!) and a couple of very vicious rounds of volleyball with them absolutely brilliant! There are two beaches used by the hotel by a five minute bus journey, El Farnara is a hidden diamond of a beach with clear crystal waters at first (Plenty of fish here to keep kids entertained) and then falling off onto the side of the most beautiful reef I have ever seen, I'm a diver and this beach stole my heart in one simple snorkel. Word to the wise though get a mask and snorkel and also surf moc's from El Mercato (Two minutes from the hotel, Alex and Julia will direct you) After Farnara there is El Khema, to be honest after snorkelling in Farnara this just wasn't going to be my cup of tea but the beach is sandy and beautiful without a doubt. We made some great friends from Russia, the Ukraine and Egypt so don't be afraid to get talking to other hotel members honestly even with no common language we all howled our way through ten days of sign language where needed. Best holiday in a long time!

First of all, ignore any negative comments that you may read about this hotel. Our stay was during September 2013 - post Revolution and the whole resort was much quieter than usual. This was to our benefit and my partner and I virtually had the hotel to ourselves, (in reality there were never more than 30 guests there at one time). My partner is a fussy eater yet she still found something to eat everyday - the kitchen staff ask in advance if you would like to eat from the 'a la carte menu.' The staff here work very long hours making sure the hotel is looking its best and yet manage to keep a genuine smile on their faces. The rooms are cleaned every day and the pools are meticulously cleaned due the leaves that get blown in from the beautiful gardens that surround them. Fortunately the mosquitos are kept at bay by nightly fumigation of the grounds. Unlike other higher rated hotels we have stayed in, there was no 'hard sell' from masseurs, reps touting excursions etc. The attention we received from the staff at the hotel was amazing, the pool guy had towels on our chosen loungers every morning, the pool barman Ayman waited on us hand and foot - we didn't even have to go to the bar, he kept an eye on the level our drinks were at. Mario and Mina, two of the waiters/barmen were outstanding too. The guys on reception including the manager were also helpful and attentive. Our stay could have been uneventful if we had chosen it to be, but the 'Animation' team Alex and Julia suggested discounted night time activities away from the hotel that were a delightful addition to our holiday. I look forward to staying there again next year. Many thanks to all at the Sabena Marmara Resort Hotel. Russ & Nicky.

Visited in June 2013 and had a fab holiday. This is one of the smaller hotels in Sharm and great value for money. The hotel staff are SO VERY friendly and helpful, they really cant do enough for you, The restaurant was clean and although I am vegetarian (and allergic to seafood) and the meals seemed to be aimed more for the Russian customers, I still managed to have enjoyable meals every day. (the guys in the kitchen sure can make delicious soups!) Couple of problems with the room (air con packed in and toilet broke!) but these were sorted out in record time and soon forgotten about. Was a little worried about previous reviews about the "massage lady" who did turn up and start harassing us but was soon removed from the premisis (she is permanantly barred now!!). Tony the entertainment manager was great and did his best to get everyone involved, although it was quiet season and not too busy. The pool guys are constantly cleaning and working hard as were the rest of the staff. Our room was large and cleaned every day. The safe was free (refreshing) and we generally had a wonderful time at the Marmara Sabena Resort. Met some fab people and would love to return soon! Thanks guys!

Room Tip: all rooms have pool view but maybe check the TV. We got a dodgy one at first!

What can I say this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. On arrival the reception area was filthy and the aroma was literally rancid. When we were taken to our rooms and were greeted with several dead and alive cockroaches in our rooms. The doors furniture and particularly the bathroom were filthy ... Complete horror. The pools were disgusting and hadn't been cleaned for months. The sun beds and outdoor furniture was in a poor dirty condition. No entertainment whatsoever as the original team had left suddenly due the trouble in Cairo. The food was not good and catered for the Russians .,.. Chips for breakfast and salad???? This hotel is falling down but of the owners just spent a little time and money it would be good. The saving grace for this hotel is the wonderful and hard working staff who are fighting a losing battle unfortunately. This is not a four star hotel it's worthy of a 2 star.

On check in the hotel have to take a copy of your passport, the guys noticed that it was my fiancé's birthday while we stayed. We came back on her birthday to find the room beautifully made up, flowers on the bed, garlands, towels made into artful shapes. Then inthe evening a knock on the door and a lovely cake delivered. None of this prompted by us, the guys went tge extra step to make our stay special.
