“not just a restaruant”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

You cant call it a restaurant, it is like a one day resort. It s a castle in Sinai viewing the red sea. The castle has a small pool , a bar and a restaurant. you can even do some shopping while waiting for the extra delicious food experience. go down the dungeon and buy some local glassware and handmade clothes. it is a slow food restaruant cause it is slow cooked Bedouin style.
my advise you go as early as 10 am order your food the first thing you do then enjoy your day by the pool>

“Relaxing place”
Reviewed 22 July 2013

We went to this restaurant from the Sofitel at Taba Heights because I had seen it on the Trip advisor site and thought it looked interesting. It was the week of the rioting in Cairo but there was no sign of any trouble in Taba. The hotel booked our taxi and the meal time. When we arrived we were greeted by about 10 and four lovely dogs. They did say did you mind the dogs as we can keep them away from you if necessary. We have no problem with dogs but it was good to the given the option. There was nobody else at the restaurant. They did say it was because of the riots and travel within Egypt was resticted and this had had a serious event on their business. The good side from our point of view was we had the pool completely to ourselves and as there was a nice breeze and good music we had a very pleasant day. Our meal was served at the right time. The meal was okay but far too much for us to eat. The lamb was very tender and there was a whole leg of it. with vegetables ,rice and salad.
The only downside was when we went to pay the bill they wanted to charge us 32 euros for 4 beers. The bar menu had said 30 Eygptian pounds for a beer which is about £3. When we questioned it they said it was the exchange rate which was not so good as the hotel. We stood our ground and said its far too much. In the end they settled for £14 and the English member of staff did give us £1 change

“Nice but a bit overpriced”
Reviewed 26 May 2013 via mobile

The place is well organized and the staff led by Lucy is very organized but I have some reservations :-
1- The food takes around 3.5 hours to be prepared which is way too long for lunch.
2- No. Price list or brief description for the food so we were a bit surprised about the veal when it was actually surved ... Taking into consideration that it was way over priced than other similar locations.

Other than that the pool is nice .. But don't expect much than a brief relaxation down the pool.

“You must visit... At least once... It's awesome...”
Reviewed 21 April 2013 via mobile

We have visited Taba around 18 times now, after doing most of the local tourist attractions we were looking for something else to do. Our friends had suggested going to spend the day at Castle Zaman.
We arrived around noon after a 20min car journey from Taba Heights to this amazing place. We started with a refreshing drink and ordered our food, and then were left to explore this awesome castle. The views were beautiful and the castle itself had everything to let you relax and soak up the atmosphere. We had dinner around 5pm and we were ready for it. (It was to die for) slowly cooked beef, fell off the bone with slow cooked veg, rice and mixed salad.
We spent a few more hours just relaxing, they have a TV which they can play music through and watching the sunset was just different to watching it from the hotel.
We're going back to Taba in May and are planning another trip to the castle.
If you are a regular visitor to Taba or its your first time, ask your hotel about it or some of the friendly locals who work at your hotel, they will help you to organise a trip.
Can't wait to go again... From Liz&Chris x
