“Great hotel, staff, setting and facilities”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 March 2013

Two week stay at end of Feb 2013 with family. Two connecting rooms (2102 & 3) both large, one with twins (2) and one with a double (3).
This was our 4th year in Taba but 1st at this hotel, we knew what to expect as we took time out last year to have a look at the hotels in the area on a cloudy day and picked this to come to next due to the staff reception including welcome drinks we got given and the facilities we were shown.
Subsequently the holiday did not let us down.
The hotel is about a 40 min walk from the large complex of hotels at Taba Heights but that is fine if all you want is a sun/pool holiday as everything is in the hotel grounds.
From the moment we arrived, more welcome drinks, to the minute we left the staff did their utmost to keep us happy and fed and watered. All the staff are excellent and go out of their way for you. Special mentions go to the following staff who should all be put up for employee of the month:
Mahmoud - Reception
Mohamed (with new baby) - Restaurant Waiter
Kamal - Maitre d'
There was only one thing wrong this year and that was the Animation Team (AT) who were exceedingly poor, did not bother with you much if you were not Italian, and who did not bother to organise any daytime activities and the evening shows they put on were an embarrasment. However, if you are not bothered about this it does not detract from your holiday - it just does not add anything and having been at other hotels where the AT can add so much fun it is a shame.
The professional shows, which there were 3 of during each week, were excellent, just a shame that the AT did not introduce or thank them - ignorant!
The beds around the pool are not very comfortable but the ones on the beach make up for this as they are super with large matresses.
The rooms are clean and linen changed regularly.
There were 2 disabled in our group so the fact that the hotel has lifts was greatly appreciated.
Management were always seen doing the rounds checking up on anything and whenever something went wrong like the TV went blank Engineering were down within 10 minutes.
The hotel was quiet but this is the same all over Egypt since the revolution.
I would certainly recommend this hotel for a relaxing holiday as there is none of the awful big screen TV football etc.

Room Tip: I usually ask for a ground floor room due to disability but there is a lift (elevator) so each floor...

my wife and i have just returned from two weeks all inclusive stay at the Swiss inn from the 12Th - 26Th Feb 2013, here's are story, We arrived at around 21.15 after an hours delay at Manchester, 1st impression very clean & tidy, we were met with a nice cool & refreshing cocktail, we duly booked in & told to leave our cases in the lobby, & go to the restaurant for some dinner, although the restaurant closes at 22.00 there was still plenty of hot food available, the staff in the restaurant were very friendly & helpful, once fed & watered we went to our room, once inside WOW, what a room, Spotless, fresh & clean,The Bathroom was well equipped with a massive shower, sink, hairdryer, & plenty of towels, The main bedroom was huge, There was a queen size bed, one of the biggest I've ever seen, plenty of storage, T.V. Fridge, Sofa, large coffee table, & a great size balcony, we had a pool view, with a partial sea view, all in all a great start to our holiday, The next 14 days were magic, we went for a quiet relaxing break to charge are batteries, which we duly did, The hotel was clean & tidy ( all the time ) the staff were fantastic, nothing was to much trouble for them, the hotel grounds were well set out, the pools were great, the restaurant great, & the staff in the restaurant were so quick to clean your table, refresh your drink, if there wasn't anything on the menu you liked, ask any waiter or chef, & they will get it for you, It wasn't to busy when we were there, but it didn't drop the standard of service, The beach was very large, with lovely beds with really thick mattress, & wind breaks to keep the breeze of you, there are stones & some large boulders to walk over to get into the sea, but once you've passed these, the red sea is lovely, & not forgetting the fly, this is a problem all over Egypt, & not just Taba.
Here are just a few staff names that treated us like royalty, Bar manager...Mohamed...Resturaunt manager....Kamal....resturaunt waiter....Mohamed.
We would definitely go back to this hotel, We can't understand people that criticize this hotel, all we can suggest is you need to get out more

Room Tip: take some diving shoes, or somthing just to get you into the sea.

This hotel is not far off being very good 5*, the staff are amazing, Kemel is the best, to be fair the whole staff training and being attentive is 5*, the rooms and hotel grounds again very good. pool and beach again top quality.

Now my winges:-

Entertainment - non existant, and the animation team are nice people, but there shows are dreadfull, a farting shark, OMG so embarrassing, and it got no better.

Food - Poor. if you like over cooked fish in a bag, of borned chicken there you will be ok, but all in all 2*

Staff restuarant - oh yes the staff eat in the restuarant with you, not an issue, buty when they get there food before you and have not qued gets a bit irritating.

FLYS FLYS AND MORE FLYS - Every where, even in the bars and restuarants.

I did enjoy the break, and met some nice people, but I would not go back

Room Tip: Go for an upgrade, well worth it

Nice quiet relaxing holiday, the biggest most comfy bed I've ever slept in.
The Entertainment team were very good, always willing to have a laugh, but never in your face.
I recomend the snorkeling with thompson the dive master was superb catching puffer fish to show us, also stopping and naming the fish for us.
The Hotel was very clean the staff couldn't do enough for us.

Here we are at the Swiss Inn Dream resort Taba. We came for my husbands 50th birthday. Everything and more than we expected. We landed in the Sinai desert and what you have to expect is the solitary location which is perfect for un winding

Lets start with rooms, immaculately clean and fantastic views. We initially spent 2 days in the standard but up graded to superior to get un limited wi fi. Staying in room 2110 our room attendant always leaves special touches, do not know how he does towel sculptures but each day they are amazing

The restaurant staff cannot do enough for you, special mention to Monsieur le Chef who always asked for feedback about the food, Kemal and Nabil who have been extremely helpful. Surprising to see management do not eat from the buffet, must be a perk of the job!!

We have eaten in al a carte restaurant the last 2 night, what it lacks in ambience is more than made up wit.h the class of food served looking forward to tonight's meal. Lobby bar is ideal place to catch up with new friends, pity the espresso coffee machine is not used for serving coffee and only used to serve Hot Chocolate did ask the management about this and they said coffee was available at a charge. Nescafé sachets readily available to the left oft the bar!!!

Would we come back - most definitely, even though the flies can be annoying

Room Tip: Superior rooms with Super King size beds, flat screen tv and seating area, delightful

Our perception of the stay in the Swiss Inn Dream Resort Taba is a little bit ambiguous.
The hotel, the garden, the swimming pool, it is all very nice and clean. Staff is very kind and service is quite ok. Also the "house-rif" in front of the hotel is very nice for diving. Just walk into the sea and put your head into the water and wathc underwater fauna and flora. Beautifull.
However, some hotelguests (unfortunately not a minority) apply the all-in formula to the extreem when it comes up to alcohol consumption demonstrating a extreem negative impact on their behavior.
Since this experience, before making my reservations, I obtain information on the nationalities visiting the hotel I want ot book.

This hotel has received a varied set of reviews, but I can only review as I found and it was great!
We were welcomed with a drink and hot towels to freshen up after our long journey, and escorted to our rooms with our luggage promptly following. The resort itself is very clean and tidy and the garden maintenance team work tirelessly to ensure that everything is in great shape. The food in the restaurant is very good, Breakfasts consist of cereals, omelettes made to your liking, scrambled and fried eggs a type of sausage, pastries croissants, pancakes and waffles, a selection of yoghurts fruits in juices (apricots palms and figs) and bread made by the resident baker that is delicious. Lunch is various dishes from pizza to home made hot dogs or beefburgers with salads etc, For dinner Roasts, Tuna fish, Pasta, Pizza, stews and Salads and we had great fun guessing what some of the dishes were as their spelling or identification of items was not always spot on! sorry guys, on the sweet table if they didn't know the name it became 'Pudding' or 'Cake'. The hotel was quite empty when there but the lads could not do enough to please you, and no, they did not always expect a tip. I did tip at the end of my holiday and they were most grateful, but please be aware the guys there do a shift pattern of 20 - 25 days work and then have 10 days off, so I later found that tipping little and often is best or you may find that waiters may disappear for their days off and you will be gone before your chance to leave them a tip. My room was very comfortable, spacious and a nicer room I have never had. The bed was a large double and is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, in 20 years of travelling. The room was cleaned each day and was immaculate, the bed had fresh bed linen every few days and there was always plenty of towels. I had to ask for an extra pillow and more clothes hangers but these were received within 10 minutes of the request being made, and I was left some great towel sculptures when the cleaner came, you really would be hard pushed to find anything to complain about both inside, around the hotel and outside. The pools both heated and non were clean and good sized and the beach and parasols were great, the beach is very clean, but beware when going into the sea, there are lots of stones so you need beach shoes to tread on them and go into the water which is clean and clear. From the beach you can see across to Jordan, Eilat and Saudi Arabia on a clear day and looking at the hotel from the beach you get a view of the beautiful mountains that surround the hotel. The waiting/bar staff liked to get to know you and they soon knew your preferred drink with each meal and even the little bits that you liked to accompany your meal. The entertainment team tried their best despite from the original 6 only 2 were still there (just due to the low numbers at this time). The General Manager and his management team walked the hotel and grounds every day and the General manager also ate his meals in the restaurant, this was nice to see and most appreciated by the guests, you could eat inside or outside for all meals as you wished.. I must mention Muhammed on reception, he was one of the nicest and helpful people I have ever met. The cash machine swallowed my card at 7.09 pm on a Saturday (which is their Holy day) and the engineer came to the hotel at 8.45 pm that same day, without any fuss to retreive it. The hotel welcome meeting for Thomsons is well worth going to as they do not pressure you into taking any trips, you do as much or as little as you wish, but one trip to really recommend is the trip to Jerusalem. It is a very long day, you leave the hotel at 03.40 am and do not return until about 11.00 pm, and anyone with walking problems will have difficulty as there is an awful lot of steps and walking. The guide Danny is a true gem and he made the trip funny but very informative. As a general point, change more money than you need or take euro's to jerusalem (they don't take Egyptian Pounds) as you are best getting your gifts etc, here as there is a much better choice and prices than the hotel and the few gifts available at the airport are very very expensive.
I make no apologies for the length of this review as you need to know everything to have an informed view of this fabulous hotel. I would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel and its fabulous staff and I will be making a return trip, I just hope that Thomsons start to operate from Birmingham airport as Manchester seemed to be a problem for a lot of people. On a personal note I must thank David and Pat from Nantwich and Sarah and Michelle from Swindon who were great fun for the two weeks we were there. As always I must stress if you have any problems or queries, please make them known to reception. They want to help and get things sorted for you, as your happiness and comfort is their main priority, but they can't do this if you don't tell them and just sit and moan about it to your friends, give them a chance you will be surprised !

Room Tip: All Rooms have a good view don't pay extra unless you want a superior room
