“Lovely views and pool area”
Reviewed 8 October 2012 via mobile

Went to Taba for the first time after previously visiting Sharm, it's much quieter than Sharm but the pool area is lovely.
Shame we went in November as the evenings were cold and so was the pool so didn't even brave it!
It's close to the golf and course is brilliant.
Sadly I got a very bad stomach from the food, we were all inclusive so it must have been from the hotel so make sure you have plenty of bottled water as I wasn't the only one this happened to.
On the whole a good week but better in the warmer months

Stayed here for a week on Monday 24th September and we had a great time. The room was huge and by the quiet pool which I felt was the best area to be as your away from the main pools if your looking for a relaxing holiday. The quiet pool had wooden beds which were a lot better than the main pools. The food was the same most nights which I feel could be changed but we got by.They had drinking stations around the hotel which was good. The room had a walk in shower which I found great and the room was cleaned every day.

Room Tip: 3310 and 3312 was where we were and was a great area if you like the quiet and higher floor the bett...

We attended taba heights as a couple (early 30's) from 24th Sept - 1st Oct and stayed at the Hyatt Regency. I have subsequenly reviewed our accomodation on their hotel page and enjoyed my time there. Indeed the resort as a whole is excellent and a great relaxing holiday destination.

This review is soley regarding the food at the Sofitel and customer service from a visiting guests viewpoint.
If you are a guest at the Hyatt, Sofitel, Intercontinental or Marriot you can gain a voucher from your hotel to eat at another of the hotels in the resort at no extra charge. This is a great way to look around another hotel and try out the differing qualities in food.

During our week long stay we ate at the Sofitel's buffet restaurant twice. On our first visit we were met by friendly and helpful waiting staff and subsequently the manager (Rashid) came over to say hello. The restaurant was clean, pleasantly decorated and the food was excellent. Both in terms of presentation and quality. As with most of the hotels within the resort there was a theme most evenings and due to this we returned. We had planned to try the other hotels restaurants also (and we will do when we re visit the resort) however as we liked the Sofitel we returned for their BBQ night. Again the food and service was excellent.
On this occasion Rashid again came over as he recognised the returning visitors and was excellent at making us feel welcome. Due to our conversation with him we returned later in the week to test their speciality restauarnt L'asiatique. This restauarant has to be booked and I have to say it was worth it. As a couple we often eat out in London at various restauarant and hotels and L'asiatique would hold its own regards service and food quality (and quantity). The chef cooking on the hot plate in the restauarnt was a nice touch and it was excellent value for money (mindful that non Egyptian wine is expensive).
During this meal there was an issue with our hotels food voucher and the Sofitel team (Rashid again to the resuce) went above and beyond to resolve the problem laising direct with our hotel to resend an amended voucher.

We have not stayed at a Sofitel hotel before, and from this experience of their staff I would not hesitate to if the opportunity came. Although I find that the Egyptian people on the whole are incredibly helpful and friendly making this destination a great place for a relaxing break.

This was our first family all inclusive holiday for the whole family and all of us really enjoyed it. Our 12 year old loved the pools and the snorkelling was amazing- snorkelling tips - bring coral shoes (must haves) and don't be scared to venture out onto the deep side of the reef as that is where it gets really incredible, lots of people stayed in the water they could still stand up in and although there is lots to see it is not anywhere near as brilliant as the actual reef. It is also worth swimming off the Hyatt jetty as there is lots of underwater coral islands here brimming with fish.

In terms of the hotel we were very happy. The room was fine - could do with a bit of updating as bits are beginning to look a little tired here and there, but very clean and comfortable. Food wise we always found something to eat, we did suffer from bad tummy upsets but we expected that as any communal serving and eating area is bound to spread germs. Hand sanitiser and a box of Antinal from the local pharmacy (costs about a pound) cleared this up quickly. Service and staff is one of the areas that the Sofitel really excelled in and we could not fault this, especially Ahmed in the Aladdin who really looked after us and our son brilliantly. We loved the fact there is low key animation and nothing else other than a few shops nearby as we don't like over developed, touristy areas.

We also tried out the beauty salon which was good value for money with pedicures and facials. As part of the holiday we took the excursion to Jerusalem. Whilst the trip was great (long but great) we were very disappointed in the Thomspon value etc as it did not include lunch or border fees which for three of us made up almost another £140 on top of the £110 each we had already paid, we also thought it highly unfair that although our son is only 12 we had to pay adult prices for everything for him but he was not allowed on any adult excursions - Thompson make your minds up and stop ripping off family groups.

All in all I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a good quality and quiet stay.

Room Tip: Block one has wonderful sea and pool views but you will ahve to put up with noise from the evening a...

Just returned from a week's break at Sofitel Taba Heights and what a great hotel, we arrived at 10pm and on leaving coach we were ushered to leave are cases together outside reception and shown to book in while waiting you where given a nice cool drink and fitted with your wrist band if on A/I,within 5 minutes booked in you went outside and told bell boy you room number and he took your cases to room while we went of for a late lunch.

The room was huge with a large shower and king size bed also a small fridge with 2 bottles of water which is topped up daily or if you use there are many top up tanks dotted around hotel and beach also in room was handy small hairdryer and pull out cloths line in shower flat screen television, tea/coffee and kettle and good size balcony.

The hotel has several pools(one seawater) and ample sunbeds and if you want a quiet pool there a nice one is between blocks 2 & 3. The gardens are stunning
Again on the beach there are ample sunbeds all have shade and windbreakers with a beach bar, you can also get beds all day long but you still do get all the lemmings putting there towels down at silly o'clock but there is really no need....

Meals are served in the Aladdin restaurant and we found the food excellent the hotel also has a quiet restaurant opposite if you just want adult only.

A Free Taf Taf bus service runs between hotel uptown and golf course approx 45 minute round trip.

Mina the Thompson rep is on hand most off the day and is extremely helpful guy.

Most evenings hotel has different entertainment (do not miss the twirling guy) and the beach party, the leisure team do any excellent job all day long. Activities include Gym,Aerobics,Tennis,Jacuzzi,Sauna & Table Tennis. There also a Kids Club at hotel and Kids playground on beach

Overall the manager Mr Jules-Henri Edouard and his team run and excellent hotel must mention Mr Hammady & Mr Gaber who always ask if you holiday is going ok. (AHLAN WASAHLAN)

Mr Raashid and his team of waiters again are absolutely top notch and really look after you from the time you sit down to eat until you leave.

And all the cleaners and garden staff just so friendly and helpful

If you want a relaxing holiday with excellent service then the Sofitel is the place for you, as Arnie said " I'll be back "

Room Tip: Rooms in Block 2 have great sea view

Having stayed at the Sofitel last year we had no hesitation to return this year. It was just as memorable. We traveled with family and friends who were just as impressed. The staff were attentive, they were on hand all day, and could not do enough for you. The food was vaired and certainly enough to choose from considering they are catering for approximately 15+ differing nationalities. if you are wanting a relaxing holiday, this is certainly a hotel that I would highly reccomend.

We where lucky enough to be given a splended room on the top floor of block one, over looking the swimming pools, which are glorious to look over at night. Our lovely neighbours summed up the view in one word "lush", and it is...
For a complete,Stress free, Sun, Sea, Sand, and cocktails of Sex on the beach, this is the place.
Unfortunately and unfairly for the staff, some OAP guests did have to find something to whine about,Scrambled egg which made toast soggy, and the trio of crows which hopped about the sunbeds causing no harm to anyone, apperently one person thought the 3 birds should have been shot on sight.
As other reviewers have stated, this hotel is outstanding.
Day time pool staff are entertaining and friendly, the catering staff create delicious meals, the bar staff are chatty and pleasent and the cleaners ensure the place is spotless.
Thank you to them for making our holiday one of the best.
We and other people return again and again, that says it all..

Room Tip: Pay for an up grade, its worth the veiws..
