“what a beautiful friendly place”

A truly lovely hotel, with very friendly staff, i have visited many locations in the world only Cuba came close with people as friendly as this.
Lots of excursions if you want them, if not lots of places to chill out.

I have read negative reviews on this hotel, all i can say is you cant please everybody all of the time. dont be put off by them, you will have a fantastic holiday.
The food was fine with a good selection freshly cooked. The only downside was the entertainment was on a little too late for the children, and was very average.

Hi folks we've just had a fabulous week's hotel at this hotel and its my second visit although my Better Half's first.

Everything is just gorgeous if you fancy a week of sun bathing, snorkelling, swimming (pools and sea) and generally relaxing. The spa area is great and my invigorating massage was worth the money.

Our only less than positive comment would be the food and although its impossible to starve the food was a wee bit samey and on the first day not too hot. However, and you must give the catering staff credit, when we made this observation they apologised and from that point on the hot food was always hot!

The food is good quality with lots of it and you can gorge until your eyes pop but it just got boring.

The hotel has something like 7 swimming pools varying from cold to warm, big to small, adults to kiddies so there really is something for everyone and everything is immaculate.

Can I also add that we went over the Christmas holidays and the holiday did this amazing Nativity show with Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus arriving by donkey followed by shepherds and their flock plus 3 wise men on camels. It was beautiful.

We spent a wonderful fortnight at the Sofitel in September 2009 and returned for a week on 12th January with my mother, who is 87, and my sister. We were greeted as old friends by the staff and were given rooms near the lift so that my mother did not have too far to walk. Onece again we experienced excellent service throughout the hotel. The restaurant continues to serve excellent buffet meals. The waiters were always on hand to carry my mother's meal back to our table. During the week a basket of fruit was brought to our room, with the management's compliments. The standard of cleanliness throughout the hotel remains excellent.
On the last two evenings Taba Heights experienced the worst storms and flash floods in living memory. It was interesting to see how the entire staff, including the hotel manager, worked tirelessly throughout the night, swabbing down the floors, to ensure that flooded areas were clear by breakfast. As we walked through the hotel at 9 a.m. everywhere was 'ship shape'. The entire staff must be complimented on what was a mammoth task ..... and they all remained cheerful!
A very big thanks everyone at the Sofitel. We are now planning our next holiday there.

Just spent 2 weeks at this wonderful hotel. The genuine welcome from the staff is amazing, as is the atmosphere throughout the entire hotel. I have visited Egypt and stayed in 5star hotels 3 times in the last year and I can honestly say The Sofitel tops them all for service, friendliness, excellent food and the spaciousness of the hotel pools and gardens. The New Year celebrations were first class beginning with wonderful cockttails before dining in a magnificently decorated marquee on the beach. The Head chef and his team excelled in their beautifully prepared cuisine.Drinks flowed freely and the staff worked tirelessly to ensure we all had an evening to remember.
I have nothing but praise for this hotel and will certainly return. there was never a time when we had to wait to be served in the bars and never a time when a table was not readily available to us in the dining room. The generous pool and garden areas offer the space and privacy even when the hotel is bustling. Thankyou to all the staff for making our holiday a complete success. We look forward to staying with you again. jacqui Ford

We spent two weeks including Christmas - which was magical. The friendly staff work so hard and nothing is too much trouble. Have to mention Ahmed in the dining area - he was lovely - could have brought him home for our daughter!!! The view from our balcony was wonderful overlooking the pools and sea and looking across at Jordan. Food was excellent with lots of choice especially the selection of sweets - they were fantastic and that's something coming from a non-sweet tooth!!. We went on the trip to Petra which was an amazing experience - although very costly it was a trip we wouldn't have missed. We would definitely return to the Sofitel. Must mention our friends from Rothwell we met there - we had such good times and laughs with them.

My husband and I travelled to spend a week at the Sofitel from 29th December for 1 week. We chose to upgrade our room to a plaza room which was in block 1, one of the older blocks. The room was beautiful, had a sea view, tea and coffee tray and a huge fresh fruit platter each day. The balcony was huge, almost as big as the room and as well as two chairs and a small table it also had two sun loungers for privacy. On our first morning we were invited to attend an introductory meeting with our Rep and at that meeting all heads of departments within the hotel were introduced to us. They were introduced by name and job title and it was so refreshing to see people take accountability for their position. All of the staff we came into contact with were friendly, helpful and very professional.
The hotel was spotless with staff cleaning all of the time from corridors being washed to the swimming pool being cleaned each night.
The food was very good, varied and plentiful. We tended to go to the restaurants later and never had any trouble getting a nice table for two or queing for food. The food however was still fresh as it is brought out in reasonable amounts often rather than huge dishes that sit for hours.
I have to say that we went on this holiday for total relaxation and thisdid the trick however, the animation team offer activities throughout the day i.e. aqua aerobics, belly dancing, volleyball. They go around the resort to let people know when things are happening but there is no pressure to take part if you don't want to. There were also various shows and karaoke in the bar each night but we did not go to those so cannot comment. If you want it it's there. You can also take various trips from here i.e. Petra in Jordan, Israel, etc.
We were there for New Year and I cannot congratulate all of the hotel staff enough for the hard work and thought put into providing a wonderful night out for everyone. A huge marquee was set up on the beach and the guest were allocated seats on tables of 10. There was a large stage and dancefloor in the centre of the marquee and buffet tables at each end. Every guest got a "goody" bag with streamers, party hats, eye masks, etc.. During the meal a band played then there was some traditional entertainment and after midnight there was a disco into the "small hours".
There is a gym and spa area where I had a relaxation massage, the best massage I have ever had.
We had a meal at the Asiatique restaurant on our second last night , 3rd January. The starters were lovely but we both ordered steak as a main course. The meat although tasty was a little tough and stringy but you cannot expect it to be the same quality as home. The only downside of our whole experience at the hotel was in the restaurant that night there was a family sitting around the chef watching their meal being cooked and he made a very minor mistake, two noodles and one rice instead on one noodles and two rice. It was something that was very easily rectified but the restaurant manager was very stroppy with the chef infornt of everyone, something I felt was out of order. The manager seemed to be a bit full of his own self importance. I must stress that this was the only encounter of this kind.
On our last night, 4th January we booked a private dinner in the Sultana tower. What a wonderful night! From the moment we arrived our personal co-ordinator for the night Mohamed made us feel like royalty. We were told that this was our night and whilst we were there no-one else was allowed in the tower. There was a table for two set up and a small music system. We danced at the top of the tower and Mohamed took photos for us. We then ate a magnificent, beautifully presented 4 course meal. It was a very romantic, magical night and I'm so glad we did it.
May we finally send our best wishes to the lovely Mai in guest realtions; a very lovely, bubbly lady with a great sense of humour - take care and have fun.
We loved the Sofitel and hope to visit again. We would have no hesitation in recommending it to our friends.

Taba Heights will hit the spot if you just want to chill out, stay in your hotel and perhaps visit the few other hotels around. No town or night life. Nowhere really to go unless you want to spend a fortune and many hours travelling to visit places of interest.

This hotel is beautiful with no expense spared on either the bedrooms or public areas. Kept immaculately clean.. The views from our balcony were breathtaking, especially at night when the pool surrounded by palm trees lit up. The staff (with the exception of bar service) were excellent. Very attentive. Considering the numbered catered for the food selection and quality was just so good. It did appear that the chefs tried so hard to keep quality and variety to a very high standard. Chefs always in the servery area watching the whole time that their food display was just right. They kept a very pleasant, polite attitude with a wonderful sense of humour dispite the hours they must have been working.

The only downfall was the drinks and bar service. The beer and house wine actually very drinkable and enjoyable but do not even think about spirits or cocktails. Rot Gut can be the only description. Two or three barmen behind the bar, one only considering some sort of service whilst the rest just picked up clean glasses and placed them a few inches away and then back again, as if trying to look busy but infuriating the many people waiting to be served and watching this charade. We never stayed to witness the nightly entertainment as the bar lounge was so dark, dismal and very, very smokey.

But you know, we cannot wait to return - The Sofitel is the jewel in the crown of Taba Heights. It is indeed paradise.
