We stayed at the Marriott in Taba the second last week of March, and chose it because, simply, it was cheap and we needed good weather. We wanted to chill out, read, sunbathe and snorkel and we definitely got that. We also really like to eat and drink nice wine _ but we weren't expecting the standard at the Taba to be gourmet, and that was a good thing.

We had a standard double room, which was completely adequate. It was clean, in pretty good repair (the sofa was getting a bit shabby, but I'm splitting hairs) and had everything we needed. I would recommend not leaving anything really important in the in-room safe, as we had problems with ours, and someone just popped down with a screwdriver and opened it. Stick your stuff in a safety deposit box at reception instead.

We ate in the Andalus restaurant every evening, and it was totally fine. I stuck to salads, hummus, chicken and the like; my partner tried most of the dishes. They were just fine. Breakfast is great _ toast and eggs, how can you go wrong? _ and while it would have been nice to have had coffee in the room, I lived without it.

We'd chosen the half-board option, which meant that we needed to pay for our drinks. We stuck to beer for the week, which was unlike us, but the Sakara was very refreshing and it kept our costs down. (Also, as a hint, it's 2 for 1 on drinks at various bars all over the resort at different times; check out the little sign on your table.) So it wasn't that expensive in the end, but we brought a few bottles of wine from home, along with a bunch of snacks (pretzels, nuts, etc) to keep in the room. We might be inclined to go somewhere all-inclusive next time, just so we don't have to think about it. Someone else on the board mentioned the option of having water delivered to your room _ do it. It's a good deal (though I still have one bottle in my fridge at home. Ridiculous!)

There's not much to do at the resort itself, so I could see kids getting bored pretty easily, but we were mainly interested in getting a nice sunbed and that was no problem. My partner windsurfed for two days with the guys at Waterworld and he loved it; we also did a snorkelling trip with them that was fine.

All in all, a very relaxing holiday, but I wouldn't say we were in the lap of luxury ...

just returned from a weeks stay at the Marriott Beach Resort in Taba Heights.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and found it very relaxing. Being alone I was a little nervous at first but was soon put at ease by the friendly staff and the wonderful people I meet at the resort, it was my first time snorkling and this is the place to do it(so they tell me) the water was like an aquarium just fantastic can't wait to go back.
My room was lovely, clean big rooms and beautiful surroundings. The food was not the best I have had but totally edible and not a bad choice, would prefer more fruit and salad but thats just personal choice the standards were high drinks a little expensive but they do happy hour in all of the bars.

The pool area is kept immaculate and the beach equally so never any problem getting a sunbed.

If you need a relaxing week away go its great and you wont be disapointed.

Have just returned from a fantastic week of doing nothing !, Hotel was great, room right on the beach, ( block 400 ) so a 30 second walk to sunbed every morning. We went with the intention of just relaxing and it was perfect for that.

Room was cleaned daily and food ( half board ) was ok, great choice for breakfast and not too crowded. Evening meals varied by theme ( Indian, Chinese, Italian etc ) each night and was all hot and well cooked . All the staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for you ,remember to take dollar bills as this helps no doubt !.

Worth paying towel man a dollar a day to put towels out on beach for you as prime spots tended to go quite quickly.

Drinks are expensive but there are happy hours in different bars throughout the day and evening so time it right and this saves a bit.

Fantastic snorkelling off beach and we did a great snorkelling day trip from Waterworld, lovely boat, great lunch on board and chance to try scuba diving.

All in all , if you are looking for a chance to unwind as we were , this is a perfect location.

This was our third visit, the first time in spring, and we were not disappointed. Weather in high 20C and occasionally needing a light sweater or long sleeves in evening.
Food consistently good, varied and seemed to suit everyones needs. Take a box of wine from home airport as well as spirits for aperitif/nightcap.
Staff were attentive, pleasant and always helpful.
Having been to the area before helps as it is still a bit of a shock arriving at Taba Internationa Airport. (Fascinating coach journey to/from hotel to Airport though!)
A few tips, if you want to know the accurate temperature at Taba Heights resort before you go it is 4C warmer that that shown for Taba on BBC website. The reason being is that temperature is measured at Airport which is inland and at 900M altitude and some 45 min by coach from resort.
When you arrive at Taba Airport (there were 324 on our Monarch flight) you enter a small arrival area where there is a 'free for all' to get through immigration. Just bide your time as no one leaves the airport until everyone is through, collected their bags and allocated a coach to take them to their hotel. From time of landing to arriving in our room was just 2 hours! Just politely and firmly decline the tipping requests which annoy some.

On arrival at Marriott we took about 1 minute to check in and were taken to our room overlooking the beach, by buggy.

This is a brilliant place ( read other reviews of the amenities, pool, beach, garden, food etc.) as are the other beachside hotels at Taba Heights (Hyatt, Sofitel and Intercontinental by talking to others then and now) but having got familiar with the Marriott we got what we expected, well looked after in thoroughly relaxing surroundings.

Shouldn't wax so lyrically about Taba Heights as it is a prettyu well kept secret but Taba Heights truly is an oasis in the Sinai desert!

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Marriott Beach Resort in Taba Heights.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found it very relaxing. There is not an awful lot to do here but it is perfect for a weeks crash out in the sunshine.
The hotel was lovely, clean big rooms and beautiful surroundings. The food was also of a very high standard and we were not once disappointed by the offerings in the restaurant.

The pool area is kept immaculate and the beach equally so. If you have a preference as to where you want to sit at the pool or beach it is advisable to get up early to reserve sunbeds, although there were plenty to go around.

We found that the drinks are the hotel were rather overpriced, obviously our exchange rate at present does not help this. Wine in the restaurant was around £20 per bottle and it cost £5 for a beer so beware. We thought ahead and bought a bottle of Gin at the airport and so in the evenings sat and had drinks on our balcony, which was lovely and obviously kept costs down.
The hotel offers a deal on water whereby you get 12 bottles for the price of 8 and they deliver it to your room. We found this very helpful as it saves messing around having to buy water at the beach or pool. It also works out to be quite good value for money.

We went Quad Biking whist in Taba Heights, which was great fun. Like everything in the area it was not cheap, however it was really enjoyable and good to see some of the surrounding area.

The snorkelling right in front of the hotel is amazing and it is a must. It has to be seen to be believed. We spent hours in the sea and found it incredible that so much could be seen just off the shore. We bought snorkels here before going away which were much better value than those that can be purchased in the resort.

I would recommend this hotel and resort to anybody looking for a weeks R&R. The weather is fab and the area is just beautiful.

Having read the reviews prior to leaving, was concerned about the food, However was pleased to see wide variety, cooked to very high standards, and constant temperature checks. I am very fussy when it comes to food, and did not have any problems eating here. Do not let this put you off! :D Location is great, within the Taba Heights hotel complex, where you can eat in other hotels, shared facilities etc. Expect a good 4* hotel by European standards and you wont be disappointed.
Do not come here expecting cheap internet access. Wireless costing 100LE for an hour, all day 240LE and week over 1,000 LE which is ridiculous prices. (However Bar10 in Taba ctr has free wireless if you have a drink) If want to do any watersports activity, especially diving and scuba, Waterworld team are amazing. Some amazing snorkling is available from beach, so make sure ask!

Just visted the Marriott and was disappointed by the service we received. There was no trace of our booking on arrival. No apology, just sat and waited, after 25 minutes we were allocated a room. The bedroom was standard and location was good, opposite the sea front. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and soon found out how expensive everything was. Over £2.00 for a can of pepsi !!! and then the biggest shock - there is the normal 12% service charge, but they charged an extra 2% to charge to your room on everything ???? Service in all areas was very average. The Tuscany Fine Dining Restaurant was not worth the money paid.

The Hotel grounds were very good and plenty of places to sun bathe. The Hotel is located within a group of hotels in Taba Heights.
