I agree with all the other reviews here. The Tobya is a little oasis away from the crowds and luxury of the Hilton and Movempick crews. If, like me, you enjoy travelling rather than being a tourist then the Toby is really worth the visit. Naturally, being isolated as it is, 2km from the border, with nothing around it, makes for very little to do. But I believe that that is exactly the point. I spent 2 nights at Tobya, one on my way down to Sharm and one on the last night of our 30 day voyage. The first night had many guests and even a wonderful dance show. The last night we were alone. This did not dampen our spirits at all. The Tobya's staff are all remarkable people: lovely, charming and polite. The pools were fine. The beach on the Gulf of Aqaba is lovely with its coral and marine life. It's like a massive bonus extra. Take your snorkel. The sunset is gorgeous with views of Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. The only problem can be the food, which is limited if you are the only guests staying although, the restaurant staff do grilled meats and healthy Egyptian food. If you want one ot two nights' rest, this is the place to stay. The decor, as has already been mentioned is absolutely lovely and the rooms are fine. Don't pay more than 20EGP for taxis to the border or bus station. Reception will arrange.
