Hopefully, I will be able to give a true to life picture of Sonesta Beach. We visited them last year and were so happy and satisfied that we decided to go there again this year (actually, we'll be there on Ausgust 10). First, the food: it was not superb, but it was tasty, and the cakes and sweet stuff were absolutely wonderful. As for the room service we were more than satisfied with Emad and his towel compositions. Emad was more than just a hotel worker, he was a friend, always ready and willing to give tips and good advice. Absolutely the best man there. I know that some people were not so lucky. However, if you have Emad to take care of your room, then you are lucky and it makes the difference. As for the drinks, you can always count on Baghad, whose efficiency we admired enormously. Perfect guy, and that is exactly what I wrote about him when asked to give some opinion about the hotel workers and service. I hope he was handsomely rewarded for his hard work. The only thing we were not very pleased with was packed lunch we were given on our trips to Petra, Cairo and the Mount Sinai. It was not very good, and this is were the service can still be improved. Yet, despite this little thing, we were perfectly satisfied!!!

Room Tip: Look at the layout and book in advance!

Overall impression about this hotel is that it's definitely not a 5-star hotel and not all inclusive service - as it was sold to us by the travel agency. My husband, I and the 2 kids (7 y and 18 months) stayed there for the last 10 days of July. Rooms are too small, for getting extra towel (because there were 4 of us) I had to go to the reception almost every day. We were all sick of diarrhea (this is our 8th times to Egypt and FOR THE FIRST TIME we got sick) and one morning there was some lacking from my baby diapers on the sheet - they didn't change it, they only made the room without changing the sheets and left those dirty sheets on the bed. There is no way to buy diapers in the hotel or anywhere around. My children were all the time hungry - the food served out of the meals is every day the same - leftovers after the breakfast or lunch. And also no shop in the hotel where you can buy some chips or biscuits or anything that the children would like to eat. Drinks on the beach are too hot, ice available only sometimes but don't use ice cubes if you have diarrhea, and the waiters serving the drinks make you feel like you are doing something wrong if you come for the extra drink. The doctor in the hotel charged me 50e for the medicine for my children and REFUSED TO GIVE ME THE RECEIPT - ignoring my travel insurance completely.
Definitely not the hotel to go back to, there are so many better hotels we had visited before. But if you wish to go there anyway with small children - bring enough diapers (7-10 per day during diarrhea period), bring medicine Antinal and Streptoquin (THERE IS NO PHARMACY IN THE HOTEL), bring some extra food for the children - and try to have a good time.

lf you want to get away from it all then this is the place to go.
Yes its in the middle of no where but its such alovely place to stay that you won,t to go out.
The staff are amazing & its a very small hotel so everybody gets to know you which makes it feel like a home from home.
l have to say being English is a real plus there!!

Room Tip: all the rooms are great as they all face the pool & beach

This is the eight time we have been to this hotel, every time we have come here the hotel has always been clean to a very high standard. We find the food and rooms excellent the staff very friendly and helpful, if you have any problems or concerns they are always willing to help . the pool area is very clean and the beach is excellent and situated against a coral reef excellent for snorkling and scuba diving. A must for anyone who is going here to highly recommend blue fish which an on site restaurant. Would defo be going back next year.

We stayed here in the first week of June and had a fantastic time. The hotel is about an hour fromTaba airport and as our flight was delayed were weren't hopeful of getting anything to eat when we arrived at about 10:15 p.m. How wrong we were. The staff kept the restaurant open for us even though they knew there we were only 2 people arriving on that flight. Where else would you get service like that? The earlier reviewer was correct in stating that two of the restaurants were closed, but this is a hotel complex for 900 guests and when there are only two hundred or so there what do you expect. The cliff side restaurant was closed but as there was no-one staying in the cliff side rooms which were about 500 m from the main complex so what! What the previous reviewer also failed to mention was that whilst the Italian restaurant was closed, the full italian menu was still available in the adjoining Blue Fish restaurant.

We ate in the Blue Fish every evening (as part of the all-inclusive package) and the food was freshly cooked to order and great. When we mentioned it was our wedding anniversary, the chef prepared a meal of our choice (at no extra cost) and made us a fantastic cake. The service we received from the staff at this hotel was second to none and really made our holiday one to remember. Another plus for this hotel is that you can snorkel right off the beach - not great coral but plenty of fish. There is a on-site dive centre who run snorkelling trips (2 hours - £20) and this is really recommended. The dive guide (Michael) was great and the coral just a bit further out was fantastic.

No hint of any problems from the "revolution" in this area of Egypt and we had no concerns whatsoever over visiting this part of the country. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and a big thank you to all the staff at Sonesta Beach Taba for making our wedding anniversary so special and memorable

We visited the Sonnesta Beach Resort in May with our two children. This is the second time we have visited we wernt disappointed. The hotel staff were very friendly, the animation team kept our teenager entertained for most of the day, she couldnt wait to get up and join in the daily activities. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff and they are always willing to help. The food was great although it did get a little repetitive towards the end of the week. The rooms were spacious and kept clean. Will definately visit again.
