“Absolutely Fantastic Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 December 2012

I and a friend returned from Sonesta, Taba 4 weeks ago (13-28 Nov 2012). We were there to celebrate my 50th birthday. First impressions were really good and we were impressed with both the size and cleanliness of the room. After a visit from our rep we were disappointed that most trips had been cancelled due to troubles in Egypt. The hotel was in a very picturesque place but also isolated with nowhere to walk to outside. We had wanted a relaxing beach holiday so this did not concern us too much. We also found that due to the low season, the hotel was not full and therefore some restaurants and bars had been closed. However, we still had two to choose from. The food was a little repetitive but overall very good, however, after discussing this with management during one of many social evenings, our comments were not only listened to but acted upon. The choice of food was much improved by the second week . What made the holiday so fantastic was the combination of a beautiful beach surrounded by mountains, peace and tranquility, which we may not have got if it was peak season, and the hotel staff. From managers through to cleaners, we were treated brilliantly. The staff could not do enough for us and went out of their way to ensure we had the most perfect holiday. Which I have to say they succeeded, we had great company and conversation in the evenings from staff and were treated like celebrities at all times. As for my Birthday, a cake was made especially for the evening and the bar tables put together with a cloth, ice buckets of wine were provided and I could not have wished for better treatment. I can recommend this hotel for it's outstanding service and cannot fault the staff. If it's a quiet, relaxing beach holiday with good company in the evenings you want then I highly recommend this hotel. I will definitely be returning when possible though the first visit will be hard to live up to!!

we have just arrived back from Egypt an can honestly say this hotel was really amazing. me my wife and 3 children stayed here for 1 week. THe room was immaculate and cleaned everyday!! it even had 2 tv s (one for the children) which kept them busy at night. The beverages and dinner manager mr yasser afifi really went out his way to look after us. he was very polite and curtious And definatly a credit to the hotel!! the food was great. we are frequent travellers and wouldn't give a hotel a good review if it didn't deserve it!! but this did!! if you want peice and quite and somewhere to relax with a amazing beach then this is the hotel for u!!
Islam the reception manager was also very helpful!!
thanks the khan family - Esah and azeem

We stayed over on the way to Cairo as part of a Holy Land tour. Some of the comments below are true. But the hotel is in a very scenic area and surrounded by mountains on one side and the red sea on the other. Location is Great. Our room was good with great view around. In fact the best on the tour. Dinner buffet was good (mostly Arabic). Barbeque around the pool area. There was however a party going on till late at night. The sound did come into the room. Breakfast was also good.

We just stayed here overnight on our way from Israel to Cairo on a packaged tour. The rooms are very spacious and most have balconies that have a great view of the big pool and the beach. The room is neat, but could do with more thorough cleaning. We had buffet dinner and buffet breakfast at the hotel and sadly, we didn't enjoy them. This hotel looks like it was planned out to be a really great resort, with a very big lobby and lots of beach huts but from the short time we spent there it seemed to us that it had already gotten past its prime. Management needs to reenergize it.

I stayed there 4 days but I didnt enjoy at all. The hotel is ranked a 5 stars hotel but I stayed at 4 stars hotels before which was much more better than it. Rooms are old with an old tv with a broken not working remote control. The bathroom sink was blocked. Beds blankets are too small & it seems for kids not for adults! The food quality & variety is too bad & it cant be a 5 stars hotel open buffet by all means! You can spend a plenty of time searching for a clean fork or spoon to eat with & you end up eating with a plastic tea spoon!! The pool has nothing new, no water slides or Jacuzzi or even a pool bar. The animation team is very weak & boring & you will find nothing to do after dinner except the poorly equiped small discotheqe which works only from 11 pm to 1 am. The only thing I enjoyed at this hotel is its location on the beach & I really enjoyed swimming & snorkling with many amazingly colored fish. But for sure I wont be back again!!

We traveled as a big group, and I agree with my co traveler, you hardly want to sleep on the bed, because the sheet looks grey?? In color?? Couldn't they change sheets that need to be changed?
You can see molds in the bathroom, and it smells, and you wonder if they really thoroughly clean them? Rooms are so faraway from the elevator, 170 steps??? I just can't understand how they got good reviews....Breakfast was tiny viena sausage, and I was not able to really eat, because of the long line, and once it was my turn, there was no food left...no refill?

Dear mcbsjd84,

Thank you for your feedback , I checked with the room's division manager at the resort and he mentioned that the hotel was running a low occupancy during the past period which is a bit strange that you found queues for the breakfast , and he asked if there was any complains from the Philipino group about the bed sheets but there was none , I am apologizing anyway if you faced any inconvenience during your stay and from our side we reported the complain and the corrective action will be taken . We hope you can give us one more chance to host you again for a better experience

The rooms were clean and well presented, the only problem was that they didnt cater for 3 people comfortably as we had to have a put up bed which wasn't very good and the room was a bit small for it to fit in making it quite cramped. The hotel is right on the beach which was very good, and the sand is leveled out everynight, they pay alot of attention to detail! The snorkling was brilliant and you could hire small boats to go further out to sea. The food was very nice, with a very wide range of fresh fruit and vegetables. You truely feel relaxed here and there are very good gift shop. The scenery is beautiful.

Everything is there meaning you don't have to travel if you just fancy a relaxing holiday! Howeve we did visit Israel where we went swimming with dolphins which was a very nice day out.
