We had a 8-days trip to this hotel (all inclusive). Although we arrived after the all inclusive time-frame (11:30 PM) we were offered dinner and free drinks.
Air-conditioned room was clean and kept clean all week ( no remarks). House keeping personel was very polite.
Bars and restaurants: Egyptian food is different than our Dutch food, but it tasted good. Besides Egyptian food there was also grilled food (meat & fish). Quality (grill & Egyptian food) was good. Servants and other employees very friendly, polite and efficient.
Beach was not too crowded. Small part in the sea was covered with sand (removed all stones) so was easy accessible also for children. Ability to snorkel (fish in your direct neighbourhood).

The resort is not in the neighbourhood of a town. We haven't missed this due to the high temperature

My son and i have just come back from the Sonesta Hotel and we both thought the Hotel and staff were great. John at Reception went out of his way to help if we had any problems also the Bell boys were also great. Most of the staff were Brill to many to mention.
I did suffer a little with Cold sore and tummy problems maybe due to Dirty Glasses and i did inform Garrah and Mohamed and this was then sorted also the Water at the pool bar was Warm and again this was sorted... when it is 40+ its difficult to keep drinks cold, the Ice was widely available and if not, i only had to ask and the staff got more
There are 4 Resturants The Scallian resturant you have to pay for. The Blue Fish had the same food most days but it was cooked in front of you, however you could use the other 2 resturant but you would be pressured and told to go back to the Blue Fish as it was better food, we used all 3 resturants, We also went into the Piano Bar and was told we had to pay so the Piano bar was never used which is a shame.
The Billards you have to pay for and the tables have seen better days.not a lot going on in the evening

The Hotel is quite a way from Taba and Dehab and i felt that the Taxi firm is ripping people off, different prices everytime, also the Rep from A2B who tried to charge me more.........Plus he just disappears when there is a problem. This is not the Hotels fault

I do feel there should be more going on at night, only saw 4 show over the 14 nights we were there and it was the same program by the Animation team everyday. The Animation team made us feel very welcome.
The only other problem there is is that you have to check out at 12.00 and the flight are not till 21.30, We didnt leave our room till 15.00 and nothing was said, also we were still served drinks till we left the hotel

I will return to this Hotel as i found i could just chill, if you are looking for a lively hotel this is not the one for you, if you are looking to recharge your batteries come here

People that say bad reports regarding this hotel are always looking for faults, i have stayed in lovely hotels and the horrible ones i would never go back to.

The Doctor does very well in this Hotel. If you go there you will be ill, you wont get a cold drink but they will give you food poisioning which the doctor calls "travel diarrhea" what a load of garbage. My wife and I came home early costing us an extra £500 rather than spend a second week in this hell hole. All the Brits agreed with us, they all suffered. The chef handeled raw food cooked it then handeled the cooked food without washing. I explained to the General manager (who couldn't care less) the practice will cause food poisioning but he wasnt interested. Same sub standard food every night, we ate chips and nothing else. Lunch was served at the cliffe top resturant and was a complete disgrace (filthy). the beach bar was also filthy, the glasses were worn plastic, germ ridden and rinced if you were lucky. All I can say is this place needs avoiding at all costs. The Brits who wrote good reviews need flogging as they are putting your lifes at risk and I really mean this, they obviously have no standards and should emigrate to Russia with the rest of the pig ignorant, no mannered guests. Thanks to Tereesa, John, Jim, Tony, Brian and Linda who all showed true Brit resolve. The rest can go to hell. I could go on and on but I will leave it up to you who you believe.

My husband and I spent a week at the Sonesta beach resort for our honeymoon from 20/7/2010 - 27/7/2010. We arrived at the hotel at 11.30pm, check in was quick and easy.

Staff - The staff were friendly and willing to help. John at the reception was fantastic, we had trouble getting in contact with our transfer company to go back to the airport and he did all he could and eventually managed to get in contact with them for us. Garrah was very warm and friendly, he always stopped to talk to us and asked us how our day was.

Hotel - The hotel itself is lovley, its very clean and well maintained. However it is in the middle of no-where and you would have to travel to go to places as there is no night life outside of the hotel and no town. There are 3 resturants main buffett, blue fish and the italian (which you have to pay for). There are 4 bars bistro, oasis, fatoush and the piano bar (which you have to pay for)
There is a large pool which has a childs pool next to it and the beach is very close. The sea is amazing and I would deffiently reccomend you take snorkling gear and take the oppurtunity to explore the reef.

We went all inclusive, however the downside is that it finishes at 11.00pm and then if you want drinks after you will have to pay. This was a bit of a pain as the nightclub then opend at 11.00pm and this then ment you would have to buy your drinks.
There was a few occasions when we ordered drinks and they were served to us in dirty unwashed glasses. :(
The food was ok a bit repeatitive but at least we didn't end up with upset stomach's, they have bottled water stations based in and around the hotel which was good.

The hotel guests are mainly made up of russian's, muslim's, egyiptians and german's. There were a few english people but not many.

The entertainment at night was a bit hit and miss while we were there, only 3 shows were on we had egyptian dancing, irish dancing and a spinner. The rest of the nights they played music so you could dance. When we asked the animation team what was happening they said they were having a few problems with the shows, so we had quite a few discos. They always had a mini disco for the children from 9.00 - 10.00pm and then the other entertainment was from 10.00 - 11.00pm

Check out is at 12.00pm this proved to be a bit of a pain as when we checked out at 11.45am they cut off our all inclusive wrist bands straight away and our transfer wasn't until 6.45pm. When we asked at reception about food and drink we were told that we were allowed drinks until 12.00pm and also allowed lunch.
However we managed to find away around the drink problem, because we made friends with an english couple during the holiday we explained the situation and they provided us with drinks through out the day and even offered us there room to us if we wanted to have a shower.

Please make sure that you take high factor sun cream as we ended up getting burnt on the first day using factor 25. We had to buy factor 45 from the hotel shop, while we were there the average temp was about 40 deg C and sometimes went upto 45 deg C.

Overall this hotel was a lovely relaxing place to stay for our honeymoon and we would deffiently go back to egypt.

I'd say that this Hotel was not maybe five star but 3,5 but still we really enjoyed it all. All inclusive bands we got were white and with those we were able to eat in Blue Fish restaurant - only problem was they we were told that only two days before our departure.
Place is clean, staff wonderfull, shopkeepers greedy. Take care of the chairs in the main restaurant. One broke under me and the doc had to give several injections as I injured slightly my back. Hotel compensated it fully and took care of us very well. If you want to go somewhere just to relax and enjoy very good service, this is the place!
Same in Finnish!:) Sosittelemme!

I do not want to be completely down on this hotel as it is an ok place to stay however it is advertised as a 5 star and should only be a 3 plus max. We booked All inclusive and on arrival found out there are 4 types of all inclusive and several members of staff told us a different story. It turned out that we had to pay to eat in the nice restaurant but we had a special restaurant to eat in away from all the rude guests wearing a blue band.
The staff in here were great, food variety was limited but it was nice. The drinks were usually warm and not always ice available and served in half measures in plastic glasses. Wine was only available in the restaurant. The animation team were not very entertaining but this could have been as people wanted to relax. The bar for the evening was Bedouin themed and comfortable but the music played was mainly polish and repetitive. Our cleaner was lovely and always made creatures out of towels.
Other plus points were the weather and the beach/sea was amazing. There were so many fish to see just wading in and snorkelling. Watersports were an additional charge but looked fun.
We did take advantage of a VIP cruise and that was really great but our rep changed the price three times which was frustrating.
The room was fine but the fridge was empty and usually on all inclusive there is a mini bar stocked, we were not allowed drinks in the room only a bottle of water which we had to fill up ourselves with the water cooler.
If you want to relax in the middle of nowhere then this hotel is for you and the snorkelling is wonderful but please do not expect a 5 star hotel as it is no where near that standard

We were looking for a break where we could just relax and be pampered, and we certainly were from the time we arrived to the time we left. The hotel is situated in a small bay that has excellent snorkeling, and you can easily walk into the sea from the beautiful clean sandy beach. The rooms were clean with petals on the bed and little extra touches on a daily basis. The food was good and at the Blue Fish restaurant the meat and fish is all cooked fresh for you in the evening, and breakfast in there was always such a relaxing way to start the day. The staff all speak excellent English, are very keen to make sure you enjoy your stay and the overall service is excellent. There is far too many staff to mention as they were all exceptional and made you feel so welcome. Looking forward to visiting this resort again soon.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who want to have a relaxing holiday where you enjoy being pampered.
