Reviewed 4 October 2012

Me and my mum came here for a 10 night stay at the beginning of september, to start off the service we got as soon as we got into the hotel was brilliant the staff are really great and friendly. And couldnt do enough to help! The all inclusive restaurant was really nice and big and they had loads of varieties which is good as i an fussy.. The staff also in the restaurant were always trying to please us, very friendly and like to have a laugh with you!
The beach and pool area was great very clean, also on both bases were the animation team! Who done anything and everything to help make you have a great holiday, I met Laura and Mina who made mine and my mums holiday one to remember! They both had you up doing everything, there brilliant.. We miss you guys take care, we both hope your there next year :* xxx
All in all this was a great holiday and me and mum loved every minute of it, thankyou too all the staff and animation team we will see you next year!

We stayed there for a week. The staff is really great and friendly. The all inclusive restaurant were good and once again the staff was trying to please us all the time and we felt like at home.
The beach is clean and nice and pool area too.
The group who was there to entertain us was "russian focused "and it was boring.
The spa was not too bad but massages were poor.
Great hotel and great stay I have to say

I went to movenpick taba a week ago with my family for 4 days. Everything was good, the service of the hotel staff was kind. The lobby looks wonderful with an amazing view to the pool and sea.
quite a great place just to sit and have a drink from the bar. We had the deluxe rooms which was amazing and had an incredible view from the balcony. room service was so quick that after we finished having breakfast we got back to the room and found it was cleaned.
I have to warn you though, during my stay at the hotel when I was enjoying myself in the pool, I got out to go to the bathroom and when I was walking back to the pool I slipped and feel down the stairs so hard that I wasn't able to move. That fall ruined my entire stay at the hotel and I couldn't enjoy myself like I was supposed to. You must be very careful around the pool it's just me who fell, I saw a young lady slip on her back and two poor guys from the staff also slipped and fell on the ground. must take care if you are spending most of your day by the pool.

Regarding the food, Breakfast was the most eatable meal of the day. Lunch and dinner were very bad, I reached a point were I would only eat bread and butter for lunch and dinner which totally wasn't worth paying for. The only thing that was good in the all inclusive package is the drinks all day long and in the pool bar. Not much variety but sure worth it for unlimited coke and juices for the youngsters and beer for those of you who dig alcohol.

Taba hasn't good a night life outside the hotel, there was some entertainment acts at night which I thought was quite boring but pretty good for the kids.
There are two near casinos, only 10 minutes walking.

overall, I would recommend this hotel if you are seeking to relax and have a quiet indulging vacation.

Room Tip: Choose a deluxe room. The view of the pool and sea is one of the most amazing views I've ever se...

First the more negative points: 1) We booked this hotel because of the dive club at the hotel. At arrival the dive club was already closed since 4 months (Sunjets and Mövenpick website advertised a dive club on site! 2) Reception at arrival was really below all standards: long incheck procedure with only 2 office clercks, a welcome drink would have been appreciated.... Due to late arrival we were allowed a few crumbles from the totally plundered buffet on really dirty disgusting table cloths and wet chairs. Unfortunately not the best start for your holiday... 3) room: we booked a family room (2 adults + 2 big children 13 and 14 years) and got a small room with a 2-pers. bed and a 1-pers bed and that was it ... with 35$/day extra we could get a bigger room ... at 11.30pm at night you don't have much choice... 4) the promised house reef is not in front of the Mövenpick, but the Hilton next door 5) the "cultural differences" at the hotel are big, because of that we didn't visit the pool once during our stay... Now the positive points: 1) the staff (except for the beach snackbar) really works very very hard and are super friendly 2) Sea shell restaurant does have a limited choice, but you can always find something you like and personnel is really friendly! 3) we didn't visit the other 3 all inclusive restaurants as drinks were al of a sudden not included -> all inclusive? Sunjets should mention this on their website... General conclusion: the hotel is OK, but is not worth 5 Egyptian stars. For the same price we booked beginning of July a real 5 Egyptian* hotel via www.arke.nl in Sharm el Sheik ... Sunjets didn't convince us this time, despite a former positive experience...

It was our first trip to Egypt, which I was really waiting for.

We had an uncomfortable flight (we took off at 3 am and landed first in Hurghada at about 7 am and then we landed near Taba at about half past 9 am) and after the landing we got our luggage quite fast, the queue disappeared fast at the visa, etc.

After signing all the papers and getting our visa, they took us to the hotel through the desert, while watching the poverty all around. It was quite shocking, but I forgot about it when we arrived to the hotel. It was huge, and beautiful. It took a while to occupy our room, however the porter was really fast.

Our first trip lead to the beach, which is fascinating, the water is refreshing (however it's around 28 degrees of Celsius). Free towels are included.

Let's talk about meals. All of them were delicious, there was a huge variety as well, I haven't seen the same food there during my stay (except the breakfast).

The bars were open from 10 am to 11 pm (+- 1 hour, I'm not sure) but the guys there gave you drinks before and after the all inclusive times, as well. Every night, the animator team created a new show.

The rooms. They seemed first tidy, but they were not cleaned properly (the AC's grid, stuff in the bathroom, etc.) Every night, we had to kill about 4-5 moths, which was really uncomfortable (as it turned out later, they came in on a huge hole between the balcony's door and the wall.)
We stayed there 10 nights, from these 10 nights there were 6, when there was no tap water (can't flush the toilet, neither wash your hands). We always got a paper telling us, when water won't be available (it usually contained that from 2 a.m. till 6 am) but sometimes there was no water at 9 am neither, which was really frustrating.

The beach and the corals were beautiful, the hotel's park also, and the staff was really helpful and funny (like Achmed, the waiter and Mr Egypt [whose real name is a secret for me :D])
The spa was wonderful, and the massage was really good. Sometimes, guys with quad opportunities turned up, and they offered you a quad tour in a canyon. We tried it and it was wonderful, it's worth the money!

I also had diarrhea, it remains a secret that from what I got it, but after a terrible night we decided to visit the doctor to give me something. He gave me an infusion and some medicine in it, and ordered me to take pills and stay in bed. The first day was terrible, but after the infusion I felt much better, and after 2 days of a heavy diet, I felt alright and could eat everything again. The doctor himself is a really competent one, he also masters English.

I know, it must have been quite a subjective review, but from my point of view, the problems I listed were just tiny ones (except the water stuff) and this holiday remains one of my best holidays ever! Thank you Hotel Mövenpick in Taba!

Room Tip: Near the Chinese restaurant it's quieter and not so sunny during the day.
