i stayed at the intercontinental from the 10th may, for my husband's 50th birthday, its was brilliant, the staff kindness itself, nothing was too much trouble, the room cleaned daily, by a wonderful housekeeper, who folded the towels, in shapes such as a crocodile and swans, the service was second to none, even lying on the beach, and the numerous waiters asking what you would like drink, the food was excellent, i will definatley book up again for next year, for a week of heaven.

This hotel is one of 5 hotels in the enclosed resort of Taba Heights. It is located on a beautiful beach with stunning views accross to Jordan and Saudi. The hotel was quiet, less than 50% occupied whilst we were there which made the stay even more enjoyable. There were always plenty of sunbeds either on the beach or by the pool. There is a waiter service on the beach and staff always ensuring that you have drinks brought to you whenever you want them. The restaurant is very good and has an excellent range of salads and fresh fruit. The cooked food is varied each day and is always of a good standard with something to suit everyone. The rooms are large and kept very clean. There is a large walk in shower in a large bathroom, complimentary robes and slippers and a hairdryer provided. We had a good size balcony with a sea view, in room TV with plenty of movie channels, complimentary water delivered daily, plenty of wardrobe space and also a safe. The resort itself consists of the 5 hotels, a golf course, a shopping centre with a couple of bars and restaurants and a dive centre. The shopping centre is only really busy on a Friday night when there is an outdoor show with singers/dancers etc. There is a free shuttle bus which runs around the resort at regular intervals. The dive centre - Red Sea Waterworld is fantastic, one of the most professional dive centres I have ever dived with. We did the Advanced Open Water course during our stay, and the level of instruction we received (from Sarah) and the price were fabulous. The boats are excellent and the equipment all of very high standard. Back to the hotel, the staff should be highly commended for their level of service. They are polite, attentive, respectful and unlike other places I have stayed in Egypt, they had respect for female guests. The only criticism I have is that there was the odd occasion in the restaurant where clear favouritism was shown to certain guests. This in turn led to us and other guests having to wait longer than normal for service due to the time spent with these certain selected guests. This however was at restaurant manager level rather than the waiters, who could not be faulted. Another thing I liked was the fact that guests are not required to wear wristbands during their stay. The weather of course is guaranteed and we were not disappointed. One of the sad things is the damage to the coral reef outside the hotel. There is no dedicated entry point or walkway into the sea and you constantly see people clambering over the reef. Overall I cannot fault the hotel or its staff and would happily return here for a holiday.

We have just been back to the Intercontinental Taba for the third year and it was even better this time than our previous stays. The hotel as ever was clean and tidy and as it is now a year older the gardens are getting more and more established, with an array of beautiful flowers. We quite often smelt the chefs cutting the mint for the meals fresh from the gardens each afternoon. The rooms are cleaned every day and dressing gowns and slippers are provided for your comfort during your stay. At the end of our holiday we had a cocktail party with some of the managers and when we told them we would be returning next year we were told we would be automatically upgraded to a junior suite free of charge as it will be our fourth stay with them.

Probably one of the best parts of the holiday was the Bay View restaurant, I have read mixed reviews on here regarding the restaurant but we can give nothing but praise for the food and even more so for the staff. My partner is a vegetarian (not through choice) at the second meal we got chatting to one of the restaurant managers (Ahmed) and explained that there was nothing on the menu that my Partner could eat ,from that meal onwards for the rest of our stay at every meal my Partner had one of the chefs escort him around to explain what was in each of the dishes and if there was nothing he could eat they would make something especially for him. This then increased to the rest of us (we went away with our daughter and her friend) and they would make us virtually anything we wanted. The restaurant staff were so friendly and fun whilst still being professional. Special praise goes to Ahmed (white shirt), Ali and Amr along with the chefs Wael, Omar, Eid and Yassar
and Arches worker Mohammed, we got to know them during our stay and their friendly nature with us made the holiday extra special.

The only things I think the hotel could improve on would be to have free WI FI to some degree, you could buy airtime but in this day and age there should be certain places in the hotel where it could be free. The other thing would be when the all inclusive runs out on the last day, we arrived at the hotel at about 10.00pm and so only had about an hours worth of free drinks but on your final day the all inclusive finishes at 6.00pm (and usually you dont leave for the airport until after this) so in effect you loose out on four hours worth of all inclusive benefits.

We again went on the VIP cruise this year, we had three stops but as it was particularly windy at the first snorkelling point it made conditions very difficult I was very glad I had opted for a life jacket!! I would also recommend hiring a wet suit, for £5 you get to use it all day and it makes SUCH a difference when you are in the colder water.... again I was very glad I opted to hire one. The only faults I could find on the cruise were that all the cold drinks were served warm! there was very limited sunbathing areas so when you came out of the cold sea after snorkelling unless you were one of the lucky few to be in the sun it took ages to get warm again! and lastly when we got back to dock the guide on the boat came around us all with the tip box, virtually forcing us to tip the crew!

This really is the perfect hotel and perfect destination if you want to do nothing but relax and recharge your batteries, We WILL be booking to go back to the Intercontinental next year

This is a great hotel, its is not a 5* hotel by british standards but its good all the same. We got good value late all inclusive deal and really enjoyed ourselves. The food was lovely, well made with plenty of variety avalable. The beach is as good as it looks in the pictures and the snorkeling was interesting, close to shore and accessible.
A great place for a last minute escape.
