Wonderful resort - great location, resources (diving, biking, swimming, games), amazing food and friendly, pleasant staff.

First - the food! I am a Vegan and the resort accommodated all my food requirements. They were so great to make the meals different each day also. it wasn't just a salad at every meal. The dive instructor and owner even jumped in to make hummus! My family also loved the food - steak tacos, fish - the Fijian food and curries - delicious. They also make amazing fruit smoothies! All from their organic garden!

Diving & Swimming - the diving staff - Julie, Tawake, Ronnie - all were so wonderful - friendly and knowledgable. Julie has been an instructor for 15 years + and it shows. She takes the time to explain it all to your prior and go over all the rare, colorful sea life that Fiji and the world-renowned Rainbow Reef has to offer. It is truly a gift to dive in Taveuni, Fiji..

We rode bikes around the island, did the beautiful Bouma National Heritage Park - Waterfall hike. It was fun to rock jump at the lower waterfall - and we felt like we were in "The Jungle Book" hiking up to the middle falls.

The Fijian people and culture are held intact in Fiji and particularly at Nakia. The care is genuine and the atmosphere at Nakia is relaxing and magical.

I can't wait to get back.

We spent 4 nights at Nakia with our 3 teenagers as part of our 3 week Fiji holiday. This is our second time to Taveuni, and my husband and I wanted to bring the kids.

Nakia is a small resort and you very quickly start to feel like your staying with family. Nothing is too much trouble for the friendly staff. We unfortunately didn’t get to meet Robin but Jim and Julie were great hosts.

We stayed in the somosomo bure, which is comfortable and spacious with great views of the ocean. The meal package was good value for money and food was fresh and homemade after being picked from the garden or sourced locally, and I came away with a handful of some of their delicious recipes.

My husband is an avid scuba diver and rates Taveuni Ocean Dive as being one of the best dive operations. Diving the Rainbow reef is the highlight of his Fiji trip. I don’t dive but Julie and Viti’s enthusiasm has made me think I might go back and learn. I enjoyed the many other activities around the Island. Taveuni is untouched and a beautiful part of the world.
Lavena Coastal walk is a must and Simone is the best guide.

If you appreciate personalized service with friendly staff, great snorkelling and diving, and beautiful grounds this eco-friendly resort that is a model of sustainability is worth visiting.

Highly recommend the resort especially if you enjoy diving. The resort limits itself to around a dozen guests, we shared the resort with one other couple. We loved the personalized attention and the entire staff went out of their way to make our stay great. We stayed in the Sunset Bure which had great views overlooking the ocean. The resort was very clean, well kept and well maintained. We ate all our meals at the resort; food was great with lots of variety; I would highly recommend getting the food plan as well.

Had planned to dive 5 days but loved it so much we dove every day; 7 days!. We had a short 5 minute walk from the resort to the boat. Everything was ready and waiting for us . . . never lifted a tank the entire trip. Some of the most beautiful dives in the world! If you enjoy scuba diving this resort is a must do!

Room Tip: Sunset Bure had a great view and we enjoyed relaxing on the porch after diving

Nakia was a great to place to stay for 9 nights. The grounds are park-like. With only 4 bures on 10 acres it's very quiet and peaceful. It's like staying in someone's guesthouse on a nice estate rather than a resort. We stayed in the Sunset bure and enjoyed the views. We used the pool every day after diving or hiking. The food was excellent, more than enough each meal, and the deserts were great! All of the staff were helpful and friendly. Robin and Jim were always a pleasure to talk to each day but never too intrusive. Robin was very helpful with any activities we wanted to do, arranging a driver at a reasonable rate to take us and providing a pack lunch. Besides diving for seven days we hiked at Bouma Falls and the Levena Coastal walk. We also did a village tour which was interesting. I would highly recommend Nakia, and Tavenuni Ocean Sports was a great dive shop to use for diving.

Room Tip: The Sunset bure is close to the pool and restaurant but also very private behind hedges, and a has a...

What a wonderful lunch. Perfect salad from the organic garden and delicious fish Tacos. Truly a delightful meal. Everything is fresh and served with large portions, almost more than you can eat. Great service, warm and attentive. Great location to look out at the ocean and enjoy your meal. I would highly recommend you eat here if you can.

We had booked 3 nights and 3 days of diving with Nakia Resort. The resorts is just stunning, perched on a cliff edge looking out into the Somosomo Straight, immaculate gardens and palm trees. The rooms are amazing, wooden cabin type rooms, very nicely built, decorated and very very comfortable with lovely balconies, perfect for sitting out on.
The balcony on which the food is served is really nice, a great view over the resort with good quality wifi. The food itself was really high quality, all the produce is grown on the resort and tasted fantastic, great range from local fijian cuisine to western all expertly prepared by the very friendly local staff. The owners of the resort Jim and Robin are delightful, although we only got to meet Robin in person as Jim was away during our trip, he was however extremely helpful while booking and also accommodating for our travel issue due to flight cancellations. Robin was an ideal host, providing friendly and interesting conversation about their story, the resort and life on Taveuni while dinner was being prepared. Nothing was too much effort for any of the staff.
Nakia resort is a true Eco resort with ALL their power being provided by local renewable resources. They have installed a water turbine into a stream to provide all the electricity the resort needs. Jim and Robin should be congratulated for what they have achieved with Nakia resort, a great example of how a resort should be designed, built and operated.
We completed 6 dives with the Dive school that is part of Nakia, Taveuni Ocean Sports and I have to say were probably one of the most professional dive operators I have ever dived with. Safety was always a number one priority, well kept boats, very clear briefings from Captain Ron, great snacks between dives and very friendly and informative dive crew. The dive sites speak for them selves, quite simply beautiful. We live and dive in Asia and these were some of the best dive sites we have ever seen. I could have dived the White wall every day for the rest of my life.
