Think of your best vacation ever…and now ask: Did you leave that vacation with at least 20 more friends than you arrived with? Did you learn about others and in return learn more about yourself? Were you able to fall in love with your spouse (or significant other) all over again? Was your experience life changing?

I can positively say yes to all those questions because I’ve experienced Turtle Island. Pictures and can show you the beauty of an island in the South Pacific, but only by visiting Turtle Island can you experience the true beauty of the people. Some are the people on the Turtle Island team, but you can also meet people from Australia, California, New Jersey and maybe even Indiana (hopefully it will be me back again.) Everyone comes for different reasons, but we all leave feeling a little better about humanity than we experience on the nightly news.

In short, Turtle Island is a life changing experience and I can’t wait to go back. I hope you will also invest in your relationship/life and experience Turtle Island.

Bula Alex and your amazing team!

We've come back down to earth with a thud after our stunning stay on Turtle Island. We had a large extended family holiday for a 50th wedding anniversary, 70th bday and 40th bday. I could easily repeat what so many other have said about the family of staff who took us in, cared for us, laughed with us and cried with us (on leaving). All the praise is so well deserved. So in this review I'll just extend my huge thanks for the kids club team who made our boys stay an adventure of a lifetime. We were looking forward to spending time with our buys 6 & 8, but ended up seeing them off at breakfast and finding them fast asleep at night in our bure. We had to beg at times for them to come hang out with us....

The whole kids team was amazing, but huge thanks to Seta & Nakama who were so perfectly matched to our boys. They are missing you already. Not once was I concerned about what they were doing or where they were. They were cared for so well. They had so many adventures like horse riding, their first camping out over night experience with a sunrise breakfast, singing and dancing, snorkelling, crag hunting, dive bombs off the pontoon for hours on end, the list goes on. The best thing was there were no Ipads in sight! We have since arrived at another resort which is very good but we no longer feel like we are part of the family or sometimes even in Fiji.

Turtle Island is a an amazing treat to be able to visit and will never be forgotten. We have made some true friends from the US too who will hopefully meet us there again next year. You better stock up on the 'breakfast rum', Kettle Vodka and Cloudy Bay Chardonnay ;) We will definitely be back next Easter and are looking forward to seeing you all again.

Our sincere thanks and
Vinka Vakalevu

Love Fi Sam Eli & Ethan

Room Tip: we had room 12 which was great for kids club access. There aren't any bad rooms or positions.

What an amazing adventure and blessing to become part of the Turtle Island family... I arrived with fairly high expectations and each were exceeded - understanding that my expectations are built around fabulous people, amazing surroundings and low-key time to recharge (not gold gilded bidets). I have been blessed with the ability to travel to many destinations around the globe and found Turtle Island to be perfectly suited for me. Above all the Fijian people on the island are the most welcoming and joyous people I have come across who always have a smile and genuine hug for you. There is no way to begin to mention them all but for starters mama Taru (biggest smile, greatest laugh and best hugs every), Arthur (you dancing machine), Bill (well, what can I say - he's a man of many surprises, Mike (my fishing and snorkeling super guide).... the list goes on, and on, and on.... Every need met and most often anticipated. The church service was amazing as this Godly group of people worship with sincere passion - their singing each day can only bring joy. Richard created an environment to bring joy and happiness to visitors - you just have to let go and let yourself experience all of it - Thank you for that Richard...

Alex (General Manager) bent over backwards to make certain every detail was taken care of and was always just a nod away to make something special happen. He is genuine in every way and someone I gladly call a friend.

An emotional departure but not before I signed up for my next stay.. Vinaka vaka levu my Turtle Island family and see you again soon!

Room Tip: If I told you then you may be in it when I want to return! But, Vonu Point is great as it is a spec...

My wife and I went to Turtle for our 40th anniversary in mid October of 2013. It was a "trip of a lifetime" and we hope to return someday. Alex, the host was the best, and Momma Tokasa was a gem and took care of all our needs. Time virtually stood still and although we were only on Turtle Island for 8 days, it felt like we were there for a month!
So much to do and the food was excellent!
We would recommend this trip to everyone and already have several times.

Bula Bula!
Turtle Island is by far the best vacation we have ever been on. The beauty of this Island is truly breathtaking. Words, pictures nor videos can do justice to this magical place. The food was OUTSTANDING and the Fijian staff made us feel welcome and at home. Alex the GM went above and beyond in every way possible especially in helping my now "fiance" arrange a romantic breakfast on Long Beach where we became engaged! This is the IDEAL Romantic place for a Wedding, Engagement or Anniversary!
There were several negative reviews and I can not understand how anyone can have anything negative to say about Turtle Island nor Alex.
The communal meals were fun however you could dine on your own the whole time if that is what you are looking for. Whatever you want it WILL be delivered! Our Mama Wainise was so sweet and I swear she knew what we were thinking before we even thought it. She was on top of all our needs and desires! It was wonderful to learn about the Fijian culture and we absolutely loved their song and dance. The snorkeling was definitely the best we have ever seen, each spot was uniquely different and wonderful. Kevin is hard to impress and has traveled to many other destinations however he was in awe throughout the entire trip. Turtle Island, Alex & Staff definitely under-promised and over-delivered. I cried when I left as our Turtle Family sung goodbye to us however knowing we will be back made it a little easier.
PRICELESS.....this is the trip of a lifetime and worth every penny.
VINAKA!!!

Room Tip: We stayed in Bure #10 which was wonderful however we plan on staying at Vonu Point next visit!

We have had the opportunity to visit the amazing Turtle Island Resort twice – ten years ago on our 25th anniversary and most recently for our 35th anniversary. There are no words to adequately describe the wonder and beauty of this island paradise and the incredible staff whose only desire seems to be to serve their guests.

Beginning the moment that you arrive and are greeted on the beach with singing and drinks, you are treated like family. Everyone, from Alex, the on-island General Manager, to your Bure Mama (we love you Mama Lu), goes above and beyond to ensure that all of your needs, wants and desires are met.

The awesome beauty of this place is both above and below the water. From the bluest water in the world breaking on the unspoiled white sand beaches to the indescribable multi-colored coral reefs, your senses are overwhelmed. Not only do you have an amazing beach right out the door of your bure, but you also have your choice of numerous private beaches on which to relax and picnic.

A private beach picnic on Turtle Island includes, like all of the other meals, food that you would find in some of the top restaurants – lobster, fresh fish, steak, organically grown (on-island) fruits and vegetables, decadent desserts and some of the best wines available. Breakfast and dinner are served at the communal table on the beach if you want to socialize or you can choose breakfast in bed or dinner on a pontoon floating in the bay.

The entire staff does everything possible to make your stay the most memorable vacation you have ever taken. We were surprised on our anniversary by the palms, flowers and balloons decorating our beach cover and our bure, both inside and out – thank you again Mama Lu. When I needed a “container” to deliver a special anniversary gift, a small wooden turtle with a removable shell was designed and carved. Under Alex’s leadership, even the smallest details are important, and together with the staff, nothing is missed.

There is no place on earth like Turtle Island!

It's about the place: crystal clear seas, pristine beaches right in front of your buré, lush gardens and fruit orchards, tropical climate on an island you can walk around in a little over an hour. Add to that organic, locally grown fruit and vegetables, fresh caught fish and shellfish, responsive staff, and lovely accommodations. The impressive solar electric system assures quiet power for the island and makes it almost completely self sustaining. The owner supports educational opportunities for staff's children. The staff community is wonderful. (Short sentence; deserves more.)

Our last day we walked out from our buré to sit by the ocean at high tide. The protected bay buffered winds and waves. The water was silvery still and inviting. We ran back up to get our snorkle gear (provided by staff) and slipped into the water. Swam to nearby coral outcropping and floated over live coral and darting, colorful fish. When the sun came up we swam back to our beach, slipped out of gear and into dry clothes and headed up for lattés and choice of breakfast—fresh fish topped with poached egg and lemony hollandaise.

There were only seven couples at Turtle during this stay, all lovely people who were easy to talk with. Mealtimes were relaxed and the food was excellent. No lunch or dinner was repeated. There was PLENTY of fresh caught fish as well as crab and lobster, New Zealand steak, served in reasonable portions with complex and delightful herb and spice combinations.

The staff, both Fijian and Fijian/Indian were all friendly and helpful, willing to chat if you like or give you space and quiet if that's what you want.

Save up for business class flight and leave your worries over the ocean on the way. Go to enjoy the place and contribute to the positive vibe. You won't be disappointed.
