We stayed at three different resorts while honeymooning Fiji and Nukubati was our second stop.

While it isn't posh, Nukubati is certainly provides for your every need. Each bure is pleasant and clean. The food is delicious and interesting. The staff is welcoming and pampering. Jenny reigns over the meals and gatherings, imparting warmth, local knowledge and good cheer.

You'll learn more about the beautiful Fijian people here than at many more exclusive settings. Nukubati is for the traveller who would trade a jacuzzi to gain a more genuine experience but will not compromise on the essentials of good food and a great bed.

I unequivocally recommend this resort.

After spending 2 nights at the Radisson Blu resort this was what I expected a south sea island to be all about. Where do I start? After a warm welcome form the staff, we were given a lovely refreshing welcome drink and whilst imbibing this were given information about our food and accommodation and what was on offer for entertainment. So much to do (or little if you just wanted to sit back and relax). This was truly a most relaxing holiday and the food was amazing.
If you're unsure about the choice for your starters/mains then have half and half.
I've never eaten so much fish, always a bit wary, but all was yummy. The bread was freshly baked and scrumptious.

Especially nice is NO CHILDREN, NO NOISY JET SKIES. Don't get me wrong I don't dislike children but you rarely get an opportunity to be somewhere without them.
Don't expect state of the art air conditioning, TV or fast internet (if you want that then this is not the place for you). This is most definitely a get away from it all experience. The rooms are traditionally constructed with ceiling fans which work very efficiently. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and because only a maximum of 14 adults on the island at any one time its very tranquil.

We did almost everything that was on offer, including a trip out snorkelling on the reef which was amazing - a must do. The staff put on a BBQ at a nearby island and I've never seen such colourful fish on a BBQ - all was delicious. We also took a guided tour around the island with Solote to learn about the medicinal plants. Make sure you have good bug juice as there are many mosquitoes at the view point.
We were also very appreciative of the cultural evening put on by the staff.

Everyone was very helpful and friendly and we were all addressed by name which made the whole experience very intimate. Nothing was too much trouble.

Jenny, you must be very proud of your staff and what you have accomplished with this beautiful island resort. Would love to come back. Don't change anything. We also enjoyed our lively conversations - putting the world to rights.....

Thank you again for a wonderful experience we'll never forget! Carol and Graham

Just a word of advice to travellers - remember this resort is fairly isolated so remember, as a precaution, to take an 'emergency kit' with you - there is no pharmacy down the road and legally the resort is not allowed to give out remedies! I was glad I was able to help out a couple of guests who were unwell as they hadn't brought anything with them. If I hadn't they would have had an unpleasant few days - not what you want on an idyllic holiday.

My husband and I decided to take our honeymoon to this lovely secluded island and were not disappointed! We both loved the balance between quiet relaxed time together after our wedding and chatting with friendly staff and other stayers. The island and surrounds are absolutely beautiful, snorkeling the great reef is also a must do!
Everyone we spoke to loved the food and we were also very impressed when the chef was able to cater to our vegetarian taste buds and with the lovely non-alcohol drink selections.
We both would highly recommend Nukubati to anyone!

Where to begin with Nukubati ...well it's amazing! From the moment you arrive you are waited on and pampered anything you ask for just happens. The staff are so friendly and warm and the food well let's just say three course meals lunch and dinner and the freshest seafood YUM! There is either so much to do or nothing depending on how you feel that day we loved doing both. I can't even tell you how many hours we spent drinking cocktails sitting on the deck watching the world go by. Going to Nukubati for our honeymoon was the most amazing trip of our lives we loved every second of it and can't wait to get back. To all the staff Thank you for looking after Nick and Melissa so well we think of you all often.

For a holiday to be perfect the weather should be fine, the bed comfortable, the meals scrumptious, the trip not too tiring and the activities interesting and fun. Nukubati provided all this and so much more. The staff were the nicest people we have ever encountered on a holiday. They really made a relaxing holiday just so much more enjoyable by their interest in our well-being. It was lovely to see them smiling and singing as they went about their daily tasks on our behalf and nothing we asked for was ever met with anything other than a smile and a positive response. It made the trip so much more personal and when we left we felt like we were leaving new friends. We only hope that we will get the chance to go back again. To Jenny and Sena, and all the staff our thanks for making our holiday so special.

Its so hard trying to pick the perfect place to spend your honeymoon. I'd been to places in Fiji before (my wife hadn't), but after reading about Nukubati, I decided to give it a go... BEST DECISION EVER!!! Its the people that make it. Vinaka a thousand times to the chef for all the beautiful 3 course meals, all the staff that are so friendly and welcoming and got out of their way to make your stay perfect. I don't know how many cocktails they had to make for us but it was a LOT! There's heaps to do, or nothing to do... depending on what you want to do. Its a world away from the hustle and bustle of the mainland.
Lunch on the hill, snorkeling at the reef, breakfast on the sand bar and a head to toe massage filled parts of our days. All capped off with champagne and canapes at sunset... we definitely found the right place for our honeymoon!
We can't thank the team there enough.... see you again soon I hope!!

It really felt as if someone pushed the pause button and transported us to another world. A paradise without airs and graces, where shoes are optional, where money doesn't exist, and the only decisions you have to make are option A or option B for dinner and which cocktail to order. A place of unspoilt beauty, palm trees, sunsets and an underwater world of bright blue water captivating fishes and coral. All of this without the distraction of emails, TV and technology.

The staff really make this place with their personalised service and their beautiful smiles. They even made a bouquet for me to have anniversary photos taken. Nothing was too much trouble. Our gracious hosts even took the time to chat with us of an evening.

This was a different kind of 5 star service to the Sheridan or the Hilton but I think I like this one better. There was no TV and very limited Wi-Fi in the main pavilion. The rooms were spacious and well set out. They had fans but no air conditioning. They aren't modern but I think if they were it would clash with their beautiful setting. Each bure has their own piece of beach complete with deck chairs and umbrella. The food was fresh and tasty. Champagne and canapés arrived every afternoon just in time for sunset. There are plenty of water activities on offer.

It was the perfect place to unwind and actually get to know one another again. I didn't really appreciate it's impact until I was leaving.
