We just returned from a week long family holiday at Daku. Its a very relaxed resort. Owned by the colourful warm hearted JJ and the lovely Delia, the staff are friendly and welcoming. We had a great room, with large deck, plunge pool and a fantastic view. While lacking some "finishing touches", the room was fine. We loved the long table dining, and were very appreciative of the traditional lovo meal put on one night for us. We did our Padi dive course nearby which was really enjoyable too as well as spending time in town and watching a local rugby game.
Daku is what it says it is. It isn't five star by any means, and its best not to be too particular about things. Go with the flow, adopt Fiji time and enjoy the experience.
