We have just had two lovely relaxing weeks at Daku and highly recommend it!
Daku is not one of those big impersonal resorts, there are no children's clubs or night club style entertainment, but instead it is quite small with a wonderful friendly atmosphere. There is a lovely big pool which we enjoyed beside a cool airy reception/lounge/bar area. We wandered through the beautiful gardens with all sorts of flowering shrubs and fruit trees. Dinner at the resort is great fun at a long table with very good and varied food, beautifully cooked. We both had a massage from Kalo which was terrific. All the staff were helpful and friendly. JJ and Delia were very friendly and Delia went to enormous trouble to show us around and take on walks on their 165 acres of woodland hills. The sunsets from the Decking of the "Beach House" where we stayed were beautiful and I really miss listening to the lapping of the sea at night. While the snorkeling was good at nearby Split Rock I would recommend at least once, taking a taxi out to Koro Sun Dive, where they take you out on a dive boat for wonderful snorkeling while the divers can dive with Koro Sun. SavuSavu is such a genuine Fijian town with a market, super-markets, local shops and restaurants. We loved having a coffee at the Copra Shed at the Yacht Club and watching all the yachts come and go and local life go past. Thank you Daku for a great holiday.
