“Dinner and a look around”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 October 2012

We visited Savasi for an evening meal with friends, and the owners kindly let us have a look around at the villas. It's a beautiful place, the meal was fabulous and the service friendly and welcoming. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. The villas are quite different from one another, each very private, with its own character, views are beautiful. The location was far enough from town to be away from the noise and hustle and bustle, but near enough if you wanted to go explore the town. We didn't actually stay here so I can't comment on that and have therefore limited my ratings to the areas I experienced, but I certainly would plan to stay here on a future visit to the area.

There is a little construction going on here today -- normally that might tempt me to deduct a star but this place, and Ma, are so wonderful that 5 Stars is the only rating that fits.

The location is so unbelievable gorgeous. Hell, I live in an island in the Caribbean and I think this place is FANTASTIC.

Had dinner at Namale (also WOW) and a gorgeous run out to the Namale Waterfall this morning.

I am thinking of having my mail redirected here. -_-

Savasi Island is a peaceful, beautiful island and probably one of the most relaxing resorts. The villa was just gorgeous and private. Our own beach and lovely views. We loved the hammock on our porch and the second one on the beach. It was lovely to not be inundated with tourists and tons of traffic. My husband, mother, and two teens loved the Beach Villa. Ma and Kula took fabulous care that each meal was a feast. They provided a birthday cake for my son and remembered our preferences from meal to meal. The food was truly wonderful. My only regret is that we could not stay longer.

We stayed at Savasi Island in March 2012. We travelled as a family with our two small boys who were at the time 2.5 and 6 months.

We stayed in the Beach House which is perfect for a family - lots of space and very close to a wonderful little beach where the boys loved playing. Some work was being done on the island to build a canal and create space for another villa but it did not disturb us and our oldest boy was so excited by the diggers!

The whole family was very well looked after with Rusi (the wonderful chef) creating wonderful meals for all of us (including our 6 month old), and Ma looking after our boys allowing us some couple time to enjoy and explore the island. Any request was greeted with a smile and nothing was too much trouble.

It was my husband's birthday while we were there and Rusi created a surprise birthday dinner for him - including two big lobsters and a chocolate birthday cake! Our wedding anniversary was the last night we were there so we were treated to another special dinner (with leis and a beautiful wreath for my head) and singing to wish us all the best.

We did many activities including kayaking, reef walks, a fishing trip, snorkelling and a trip to the waterfall which is not to be missed. I was also spoiled with a foot massage - divine! The Waterfall Villa also has the most amazing infinity pool which looks perfect for a couple or family with older children to laze around in.

Ma had a wonderful connection with our boys and we were all a bit sad (there were tears) to say goodbye at the end of our stay. We will be back!

Room Tip: The Beach House is perfect for a family and located right next to a little beach. The Waterfall Vil...

There is so much to say about Savasi island Resort! I have stayed in a lot of different places around Fiji and Savasi island - well what can I say.....its a beautiful and unique paradise. We stayed there for 5 nights with our close friends for our wedding.
We had the island to ourselves! What a treat. Savasi is in a class of its own. The island has such a special, magical and nurturing feeling to it. Its not inundated and bombarded with resort activities, cars, tourists etc. Intsead, its private, and peaceful. The food is incredible! The staff are amazing. Ma & Rusi were exceptional in taking care of all of us and making us feel at home.
There are 3 main villas you can choose from. We stayed in the gorgeous Waterfall villa. Abosloutley stunning. We had our own plunge/infinity pool, ocean view, private walk down to our own little (nook) beach. The villas have been designed to incorporate the beautiful surrounding environment, both interior wise and exterior. Luxurious towels, soaps, a bedroom that looks out to the ocean which you could spend a whole morning in. So much thought has been given to each villas' design, so you feel private and at home.
Day spa treats are available for the women, and fishing on the island's boat for the men. Children are taken care of by warm and friendly staff. Waterfall treks, snorkelling, exploring the island........the list goes on! We had the most amazing stay, wonderful wedding day and hope to return one day soon.
Its island luxury in a real paradise!.

We stayed at this resort and to say that it was a pleasure and the most enjoyable family holiday that we have ever had ( and we have travelled throughout the world) would be an understatement. I have never been so relaxed from the moment we arrived and everything that was prepared for us from the child minding to the food to the resort was nothing short of amazing. I am loath to tell everyone about this place as it was truly somewhere where we would like to keep it as our little secret. Once we returned to Australia people who hadnt known I had gone on holidays said that I looked so relaxed- Any wonder with the amazing time we had there and the staff and bookings were nothing short of being such a simple, easy experience that only added to the relaxing holiday. We are heading back to this resort without hesitation next year- Peaceful, relaxing and nothing short of an amazing holiday- Thankyou.

Room Tip: The staff are amazing and the food exceptional.

We had the most amazing four nights at the beautiful Savasi Island. It was our second stop off in Fiji and the best OS beach vacation we have had (and we've had a few!) The beautiful and hospitable Ma was waiting for us with Leis in hand when we arrived at the very small airport. She then took us on a short 10 minute drive through the mainland and over the bridge to the very isolated and stunning Savasi Island where we were greeted by the staff of eight who were singing and playing the guitar to their welcome song! As we got out of the car we were handed a coconut each as the staff tookour luggage and immediately my husband and I looked at each other both knowing we had found a very unique place that for the next four days would be a very relaxing home away from home! The scenery is seriously like something out of Jurrasic Park, the colours of the plant life and acqua lagoons really make you think a hollywood film crew has been in and landscaped it!

We stayed at the Reef Villa which overlooks the amazing blowhole and has an extremely large deck and its own wooden staircase that leads down to the amazing coral and colourful fish. A good deal of our time was spent soaking up the beautiful sunshine whilst reading books out there on the deck, snorkelling or walking around the islands various private beaches. All sporting equipment is provided, snorkels, flippers, life vests, reef shoes, kyacks, mountain bikes and they have plenty of it, every size etc. The beautiful Ma was there to take care of our every need, cocktails, tea/coffee, banana bread (yum), activity plans. My husband and I both enjoy good food, coming from Melbourne we are spoilt with very good quality dining options and we considered ourselves extremely spoilt by the mouth wattering cusine provided by 5 star chef ,Rusi, every breakfast, lunch and dinner!

We were lucky enough to be the only guests on the island aside from the owners who were absolutely delightful, it was our pleasure getting to know them. They were there to oversee the beautiful new villas that happened to be completed on our last day on Savasi. We were given a tour of the new villas and they are also stunning! Both have beautiful new pools and are built right on the cliff top, each with their own beach below. We are planning to go back (maybe next time with friends) and stay at either the Reef Villa or the new Villa with the infinity pool. On our last night the owners threw a traditional fijian lovo feast with the staff invited to thank them for their hard work in completing the new villas (and again ....yuuuuummm) and thanks to the fijian singing, dancing and kava we really felt we had experienced the real fiji!!

For us it was a second honeymoon (two in four years how spoilt!) We had a tremendous time and can't wait to go back. Do yourself a favour and book yourself into paradise!

Room Tip: We loved the Reef Villa
