The Fiji Orchid is absolutely phenomenal. We loved every second of our stay and made lifelong friends with owners and staff. I was moved by the peacefulness of the entire property. I traveled to the amazing market in Lautoka, ate wonderful meals at The Fiji Orchid and finished my evenings with cool cocktails and juices in the main house. Clearly this is one of the nicer, if not nicest, lodging and dining in all the country.

Room Tip: All bures are private and an escape from the ordinary. Allow Ana and Ledge to take care of you!

Fiji Orchid was our first taste of Fiji when we went for our Honeymoon in Oct 2012 (I know this review is extremely overdue!). We stayed here for two nights before headed to its sister’s resort, Nukubati. The resort is located in this greenery forest-like ground. You'll feel secluded and surrounded by tropical greens. The bure is modern and a/c (it actually got too cold for us one night lol)! It doesn't have much decor but gives off a sophisticated feeling. It was a great first-leg of our trip. The host, Jenny, was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We loved to chat with her whenever we had a chance. Her staff was friendly and accommodating as well. Her driver/tour guide took us to the market place and local eatery. He gave us a quick Fiji history, government and economy lecture. It was fun and informative.

We can’t say how much we love Jenny. She went out her way to take care of us. The Pacific Sun airline had to reroute us to another airport, but never told us in advance. We didn’t know about it until Jenny gave us a courtesy email. She then talked to the airline on our behalf and scheduled the itinerary changes. She even went to the airport with us to make sure we were good to go. She was great.

The only negative (would only take half a star off if TripAdvisor would allow it) is the price. The bure came with the Nukubati package, but food, tour trips, and so forth were extra. The food was delicious and tour was enjoyable; they were just pricier than the other places we stayed.
Overall, highly recommend Fiji Orchid as the couple’s first or last leg (although we didn’t stay here on our return trip) of their travel over other resorts in Nadi. It’s a great way to start get spoiled and welcomed to your Fiji-honeymoon :)

Room Tip: All the bures are the same. For more privacy, we had bure 6 that's all the way in the back and p...

It is nice settling in to the Fijian climate with a stay at Fiji Orchid. As most people arriving on Fiji, we too had to spend one night on the mainland before taking a boat to the Yasawas. The Fiji Orchid is just the right place to be. The friendly driver will fetch you from the airport, to bring you in about 20 minutes to the Fiji Orchid. We had the luck that our driver had excellend guide skills and so we learnt about the culture, landscape and daily life on our way to the hotel. Get your camera ready; I took some excellent shots along the way - the driver is happy to stop and the Fijians are happy to pose!

Arriving at the Fiji Orchid, you will be greeted by the friendly staff and a flower will be pinned onto your shirt to make you feel extra welcome. I loved the lemongrass drink we had, and the easy seated check-in.

The rooms are simple yet elegant and comfortable. The airconditioning makes sure you won't be overwhelmed by the heat at night and the mosquito net is done up at turndown so the little buggers won't bite you at night. There is a safe (although you propably don't really need it here - but for your comfort you can use it) and the bathroom features a double basin and semi-outside shower.

There is not a real open air bar at Fiji Orchid, something I did miss a little bit especially with these kind of temperatures. However, the dining tables are outside so if you wish you can enjoy your drink there too. Dinner is nothing fancy but great local ingredients are used and you can taste the freshness! My friend had her birthday and the staff really made an effort presenting her a chocolate cake while singing various happy birthday songs, accompanied by a man on the guitare - so special!

I went for a run the next morning at 7am, running through local villages and rural areas. The best thing was that I did not feel scared or treatened one second, all the locals heading to work, kids going to school and woman doing laundry greeted me with a big smile and a "bula!" (meaning hello) when passing. Probably they had never seen a white person running through their village before!

There is no breakfast buffet but breakfast is enjoyed a la carte. Homemade bread, nicely prepared eggs as you like them (poached, scrambled, fried, boiled...), fruit salad and you should definitely try the fresh lemon-grass tea, it's so good!

When we left, we decided to carry our own luggage back to the reception area, to be whistled back by two lovely ladies who told us to leave our luggage and let them carry it. Somehow I found that very difficult to do but they insisted...you literally are being pampered here in every way they can possibly do and please let them do it; just sit back and relax, your Fiji holiday has started!

We stayed here for 3 nights on our way home from Nukubati Island and it was a lovely way to ease back into the "almost real world" at the end of a wonderful holiday. The bure was beautiful, probably the flashest canvas I will ever sleep under, but please don't worry, it is nothing like a tent We really loved the design of the bure with its comfortable kingsize bed, lovely bathroom and sitting area that could be separated off. The pool, lush garden surroundings, the bar and Raymond's dining room add to the peaceful ambience of the Orchid. Mitimiti and the staff were wonderful, and offered good sight seeing suggestions - including a sunset dinner at the local marina. We also enjoyed great massages, yummy breakfasts and dinners & relaxing by the beautiful pool. There was good wifi reception in the bar/dining area, airport transfers were seamless. The Fiji Orchid is approx 20 mins away from the airport and well worth the drive, especially if you want to experience something very unique.

Hubby & I stayed at the Fiji Orchid for 3 nights en route to America - we just loved this wonderful property. It is in fact only 15 - 20 mins from Nadi airport and transfers were included in our package, as was an ample breakfast.
The rooms are extremely unique - lots of glass, so you're looking out into the garden from both the bedroom and bathroom - however, it's all very private and there's only 6 tented bures, which are air conditioned and very stylish. There are full curtains to surround the room for privacy and a mozzie net which is tucked behind the bed during the day and put out to cover the bed as part of the 'turn down' service. We found it a very quiet and peaceful environment - we slept like babies.
We enjoyed meeting the manager, Mitimiti who was most helpful and also briefly met the owners of the Orchid on our first night - also charming.
We found lots to do in the area and we also hired a car to toddle a bit further afield. Went over to Treasure Island as a day trip and had a wonderful relaxing day snorkling and lounging in the double hammock - bliss!!
Also used the Orchid's delightful swimming pool and had a massage just before we departed. Nothing but praise for this interesting accom which is the previous home of Raymond Burr of Perry Mason & Ironside fame.
This property is a hidden gem, but as usual, tripadvisor will probably put paid to that....

We recently stayed at the Fiji Orchid before and after staying at Nukubati Island (sister property) as part of the deal. It is difficult coming from Australia to get to Nukubati on the one day as you need to fly from Nadi to Labasa then an hour's drive to Nukubati - and it doesn't really all fit in one day. The Fiji Orchid suits beautifully being about 20 minutes from Nadi and it certainly beats hands down any hotel near an airport that I have seen or stayed in.

The grounds and the pool are great with large & very attractive gardens with only 6 bures. The dining room (good weather) is on a patio adjoining the garden with orchids and bougainvillia flowering and is lovely. The rooms and beds are very comfortable. The bathroom was a bit modern for me with windows floor to ceiling in the shower - which for me encouraged a quick shower as there was a path behind some shrubbery outside (my paranoia showing there).

The staff at the Fiji Orchid are delightful and happy to help in any way they can. We had an early flight so had an early morning call and breakfast delivered at 6am which was great.

It is a great place for transit, and would also be a lovely quiet place for a few days on a honeymoon.

We recently stayed at the Fiji Orchid at the end of a long holiday. The staff was very attentive and extremely friendly. They were very very aware of your needs and went out of there way to make sure that you were comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and the pool is perfectly placed in the gardens. With only 6 rooms it really beats those giant generic resorts. This is a perfect place for a small wedding, honeymoon or quiet anniversary.
