My daughter and I spent 2 weeks in Gambia, arriving home on 23/4/14. Did a lot of research before I went, it definitely paid off!! Decided back in the UK that we would do all the tours with "Arch Tours" and it was the right choice!!! On arrival, we phoned the Office and Abdul arranged for us to be picked up from the Hotel. We decided to book 3 tours, The 4 in 1 ( if you only do one tour, it has to be this one!!), Roots and Senegal safari. If you book more than one tour, you get a discount!! All tours were well run, and Guides were great, especially Amy!! By booking with "Arch Tours" the money stays in Gambia, as it is a Gambian Company!!, plus they are cheaper than the Tour Operators!! I will not go into detail, as it has been covered in other reviews............all are true, Guides, food, unlimited drinks, etc.you will come home with lots of memories, a truly wonderful experience, thanks to you all!!!

Went to Senegal for the safari and was the best trip I've ever been on. We got food and drinks all day which was very refreshing as it was so hot. We were very lucky and got to see giraffes and touch a lion cub. Highly recommend!

We did the 4 in 1 tour for £40 each and it was worth every penny. We were picked up fom our hotel at 7.45am and dropped off at 6pm after a full on day experiencing the new and different sights and sounds of Gambian life. The guides were great, they obviously realise that this world is so different for tourists and old be intimidating except they do everything to make you feel happy, secure and have fun. During his trip we started with a guided tour of the largest market in Gambia which was incredible to see, so busy and lively and interesting to imagine what life must be like having to go to a market every day for supplies. We then went to the croc pool, great fun and interesting with the guides from Arch explaining how local women come to bathe in the water, believing in its fertility powers. Then followed a trip to the animal market, fascinating stuff. We then went on a journey through villages and countryside to Lamin Lodge for tea and hot donuts, absolutely delicious! Although watch out for the monkeys, one pinched a donut right out of my hand, v funny! Next we did a "family visit" since the schools were closed for the Easter break. This was such an eye opener to see how families prepare meals, fetch water from the well and even make their own home brew! We took pens, pencils for the kids and seeing them all scrambling desperate for one was humbling and to be honest I had a lump in my throat thinking how much we have and how little they have - yet they are constantly smiling. In the afternoon we went to Paradise Beach for an amazing lunch with delicious lady fish, chicken, local rice dishes. We then had a few hours to walk along the stunning beach and enjoy the sunshine. Afterwards we hopped back in the jeep for a tour around the fishing port and saw the fishing boats coming back in with their catch, the market sellers doing trade, and the many ways the fish are preserved, vast, busy and totally fascinating. Overall this tour was excellent value for money and the guides were professional, friendly and hugely knowledgeably on their incredible country. Book this tour!

Have just returned from Gambia and had wonderful experiences with Arch tours. We did three tours with them and all were excellent value for money. We learnt a lot about slavery in the region on the roots tour, got a taste of the real Gambia on the four in a day trip ( the visit to the cattle market and fishing village was amazing) and the Senegal safari trip was unforgettable especially getting carried onto the canoes to cross the river. Thank Mohamed for not dropping me! They provide everything Food water and beer and there are about two guides plus driver for six people so plenty of attention. They were a lot cheaper than the tour operator and we got a discount for booking more than one trip. Thanks again Lynne and Kathy

Had a great day out with Arch tours, very friendly, lots of laughing and joking yet informative tours. Plentiful cold drinks including beer which was a bonus in the heat. The free lunch which on tours is usual very average was in fact very good. Also had some time on the beach after lunch. All in all one of the best tours we have been on. Very recommended tour and your company.
