Booked 2 tours, river Gambia and Roots tour in March.
Lamin our tour guide was both friendly and knowledge keeping us hydrated all day with cold drinks.
The River Gambia tour was so relaxing even tried fishing for the first time. Lunch was provided fresh fish and Gambian dishes it was delicious.
The Roots tour to James Island was a fabulous experience, we had done this tour on a previous visit to the Gambia but due to Covid the only way for us to get to Barra was on the ferry from Banjul, what an experience.
If you want to see Gambian life as it is day to day you have to do this.
Tried to convince Lamin to add it to his tour itinerary.
I would definitely recommend Bushwacker tours and Lamin as your tour guide a knowledgeable and polite young man who works really hard.
You'll find them on the Senagambia strip just down from the supermarket.

We went on a three day round tour from the coastal region along the River Gambia to Janjanbureh. The tour was arranged individually according to our preferences.
We got stunning impressions of nature, history, culture and people.
Alieu Bayo is an excellent tour guide, well prepared, always a step ahead, offering options with a strong understanding of one’s preferences, always looking for the best experience.
Last but not least many thanks to Lamin for his perfect driving.
We strictly recommend Bushwhacker Tours.

Having used Bushwackers before, we selected a visit to the Wildlife Reserve at Fathala, Senegal. We were collected on time from our hotel and looked after very professionally by Lamin throughout. His depth of knowledge regarding everything we encountered was truly amazing. Would certainly recommend the company to others and we will certainly use them again.

We booked this tour with Bushwhacker and it was excellent. They picked us up, on time, at our hotel and we followed the planned itinerary. We received a lot of explanations and interesting information all over the way. Our guide Alieu was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He was also interacting with the people we met so that our tour made us really feel how the Gambian people lives. After the great "off-side" roads, the stop at the paradise beach was amazing. We arrive at the Tanji fishing village right on time to see all boats, the people and the view at sunset. With Bushwhackers, you are in safe and reliable hands.

We first booked an improvised, custom made tour to visit the mangroves. The very kind guide Salomon impressively arranged it within half an hour. All was taken care of in a very professional and friendly way. Our guide could tell us not only a lot about the environment (including birds, plants etc) but also about the Gambian society. Afterwards we booked immediately a four wheel drive tour, which was just as pleasant and informative as our first tour. Highly recommend if you want to go off road and really want to get to know the country in a pleasant way.
