Stayed at this hotel for three nights. Good location and great staff. Can't say enough about the hospitality and kindness of everyone there! Excellent tour to the Botanical Garden and my girls had a great time at Punta Sal. I would stay there again!!

I stayed at Marsol in a single room (full size bed) for 3 nights. Rooms are basic, clean, have a balcony and air conditioning. Breakfast is included, homemade eggs, bread, coffee, and fruit...it's wonderful. I dove with the dive center, one day in Cayos Cochinos (best dive ever) and one day in Tela. The dive instructors are extremely professional and very friendly, and speak english fluently. Marsol is a 2 minute walk to the beach, and in the heart of Tela. There is also a computer in the cafe with internet, and there is a pizza shop down the road with free WiFi. You won't be disappointed staying here.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the main road...for more quiet, although the A/C drowns out most of the noi...

Bottom Line Up Front— Nice Hotel, great Staff, great dive experience-Overall great value
I was very impressed with my experience at Hotel Marsol this weekend. The hotel was recommended by a travel advisor here on the military base in Honduras where I am working. The convenience of doing my Open Water Dive Certification with the integrated Hotel and dive operation made for a seamless experience. The room was very clean; the hotel seemed fresh and well maintained. The included daily breakfast was very good. Drinks, non-alcoholic and alcoholic, were available at the front desk and cheaper than buying outside of hotel. The Dive Instructor, Vanessa, was punctual, informed, and a very good instructor, the diver staff was very patient as my dive partner and I experienced all the "1st Open Water jitters". The dive sites selected were amazing; unmolested coral reefs. Their dive gear and dive boat were only months old, quality, and in great condition. It was a much better value compared to flying to the bay islands, and honestly I do not think my experience would have been any better. There is a tour bus that runs from TGU to Tela; I jumped on at Siquatepeque; $12.00 one way--too easy.
The owners were great people and very accommodating. The hotel had great staff and security; they did walk around security checks on all the rooms and had a security monitoring system. Tela itself was a great location; nice little water front food and evening relaxation spot. Much safer and friendlier than inland where I am currently working. It is a great place to relax, eat, and dive some amazing sites. I would like to dive here again and spread the word of this wonderful town and hotel...

Room Tip: I had a double bed room on the street. Wasnt too noisy for being on a street. Maybe the non-street s...

Just a dirty, smelly hotel. You certainly can do better than this hotel when staying in Tela. I had heard this was a nice place to stay....maybe these people stayed here a long time ago, or the owners changed, or the manager changed, or because we went in the off season the people there just dont give a darn about the quality of their hotel. Either way, I found the conditions at this hotel inexcusable. If you own a hotel, regardless of the time of year, the rooms need to be clean

The Hotel Marsol was a treasure we had not expected. My wife and I decided to go to Honduras last June. We booked a flight and emailed the owner, Marcello, and asked about scuba certification. I regret that I didn't take advantage of the certification course but I am not sorry that we stayed at his establishment.

The staff was wondrerful. The town was wonderful. If you visit be sure and go to the village of Miami and experience the Garifuni village and the solitude of their daily life.

Marcello, we are coming back.... and as before we hope you have an opening for us. We hope to have a little more grasp on the language than the last time....:-}

We just booked a flight for December and I hope that there is an opening at the inn. Thanks, Shawn

We stayed 2 nights at the Hotel Marsol. Our room was clean and cozy. We had cable TV and hot water. The staff was helpful. I also felt very safe. The beach is 2 blocks away; as well as, many beach front places to eat. Not alot of extras are available, so take your own shampoo, extra towels, soap (tiny ones are provided). They have high speed internet, and drinks available fo purchase in the lobby. Across the street from the Hotel is a small market if you for snacks or other personal items. Our room faced the street and was kind of noisy in the morning, but other than that I was more than pleased with the Hotel Marsol. I would definitely stay again.
