Reviewed 25 January 2012

My family and I were on holidays 1-6 January 2012 in the Andaman Islands and in Port Blair we stayed in this hotel. Air India, Jet Airways and Kingfisher Airlines have daily flights to Port Blair from Calcutta and Chennai early in the morning, the trip takes 2 hours. This is an excellent place - we got a reference to this hotel from friends. The hotel tariff is very reasonable and in fact, we got a good deal for them to take care of all our needs - three meals a day (lunch is usually packed), local transportation, entry tickets (such as, the Cellular Jail), boat rides to other islands (as high as INR 800 one-way per person to Havelock Island). This way we were free just to enjoy our holidays. The best part was the friendliness of the hotel staff - always helpful. And they fed us good food. Predominantly Bengali food but they also serve south and west Indian as well as vegetarian food. Rooms are spacious and clean. On the negative side, as of date, they do not have internet connection or telephone connection in the guest rooms but with a BlackBerry as a companion the negatives are not worth mentioning. For laundry one has to handwash clothes and dry in a clothesline, or go to a commercial laundry in the town about 5 km away. Overall, this hotel became out home during our holidays there. I would recommend this hotel to any serious travellor to Port Blair.

Room Tip: Deluxe cottages, only for a little extra money, will get you a bigger room.
