Reviewed 21 May 2014

The journey to the Araku valley is a unique experience. The tourist spots are not up to the mark but improvements are being organised.

“Greatly Complements with Vizag”
Reviewed 10 May 2014

Vizag and Araku complements each other in terms of a complete tour package comprising of natural varieties. If Vizag itself can boast of its own package of sea, beach and hills starting from its beach, Araku is the complete package of picturesque Hills and Valleys.
Especially the set of APTDC (Haritha) resorts at Araku valley, Ananthagiri hills and Tyda jungle can themselves help you relax for a great extended weekend trip.

“Good place for a day's trip”
Reviewed 25 April 2014

Araku valley is known for its coffee plantations and scenic beauty. We visited the tribal museum which was interesting. Doesn't take much time but has some good artifacts and representations of tribal life with photos and mannequins. There are a couple of waterfalls about 1hr ride on either side of the town. The coffee is great here, chocolate not so much. You can buy it as well
We didnt see anything much to make us stay overnight so we went to Borra caves from here. They ride to borra caves was great. We had some good viewpoints of the valley, few coffee plantations and some tellugu movie shooting spot. Overall it was fun

“Great place”
Reviewed 20 April 2014

Quietness in the lap of mother nature, with a tranquil, serene, somber atmosphere. If you are in search of your inner self in the midst of nature - this is the place to be. Stay in the Haritha - Mayuri Hotel at Araku and you will love every bit of it.

“Worth a weekend!”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

You would just love the route if you are a biker! The route is majestic. Pre/Post Monsoon will be best time to visit with lush green color everywhere. You can also travel by train. There is a passenger train that starts from Vizag to Hirandul. Rails and road run almost parallel to each other and train passes through ~50 tunnels! It will be a good experience if you are travelling as a
family, with kids.

There is nothing much to do there. Visit the Tribal museum. Very artistic and very well maintained. There is a coffee museum nearby where you can taste a variety of coffee flavors, buy coffee chocolates, cakes etc.

Botanical garden - Not so big. Can spend an hour or two there. Again, there is a toy train and if you are traveling with your kids, they may find it exciting.

Must do: Eat bamboo chicken, relax and enjoy the weather!
