This was probably my 3rd or 4th stay in this hotel. This one after 2 or more years. The hotel has renovated its rooms. The bathroom however is extremely compact. The service was extremely prompt. It is adjacent to Gandhi Maidan and thus I took the opportunity to take an hour's walk there. It is on the expensive side , but I would still recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Patna.

Room Tip: I am sure all rooms have been renovated. You could make sure to ask for a renovated room.

The hotel in centrally located with proximity to the Gandhi Maidan for a pleasant morning walk / Jog. The rooms were neat but with some old furniture . The toilets also were new and neat. The lifts were very old . The breakfast was average . We couldnot try the lunch and dinner as the food was quite expensive here. Its was an "Ok" stay

the only advantage of this hotel is its located in the place where it is well connected by auto rickshaws.
i wanted to go to hanuman mandhir and when i went out of hotel, there were plenty of share autos which ply at less than 5 minutes frequency
the hotel is very congested, the elevators dont work properly
the room is ok and charges are 4000 Rs +tax
the breakfast spread is nothing great to write about

Only good hotel in city
Staff are not polite
room is spacious and clean
food is average
centrally located
Too much over priced
bakery is good
service is too pathetic
Lift is a problem here and you need to wait for a longer time to get into it.

Room Tip: pool side view

The first thing that strikes you as soon as you enter is the out of order lift! The working lift is actually more dangerous, as it would close while you enter. THe liftman actually has to manually push the doors wide to let you in.
I had a single room with a master bed. Somehow, they cheated me into a room with 2 single beds! When I called up the reception, he gave me the usual gyaan about hotel being full, and finally agreed to change the room in 5 mins. However, there was no response after even as hour! Finally I had to speak to the manager who quickly redressed the problem.
The food was decent, only for me to discover a strand of hair in my grilled chicken! Yuck!

All this (lack of) quality and service comes at the highest cost possible in Patna.

Room Tip: Take a non-smoking floor or else you will be breathing putrid air all the way from lift to the room

Hotel Maurya seems to be a well-known landmark at downtown Patna, Bihar. However, the place is mediocre-to-poor and overpriced.

The rooms are smallish, but decent. The TV was actually nicely placed and the network pretty good. Another plus point was that there were enough power plugs to charge multiple devices. The airconditioning worked well, although the temperature control had a mind of its own at times.

The biggest let-down was the lift, which worked on and off, with my colleagues getting stuck in it. After this, almost all guests were taking the stairs up and down, not trusting the lift.

The food was mediocre too; there was indeed quite a bit of variety, but the quality was so-so. The complimentary breakfast was nowhere near international standards. The complimentary wireless access was so poor in some rooms that I found international delegates sitting on carpet on the corridor and working on their laptops.

In summary, this hotel would have been ok at about Rs. 5000 per night, but it costs almost double this amount. Also, the downtown location is on the way to becoming a liability given the extremely variable and unpredictable nature of Patna's traffic.
