Spent about two hours here with spouse on recent visit to Alamogordo. We love all things space exploration, NASA, etc and were not disappointed. Enjoyed the museum only; did not see any films at the nearby IMAX theatre. If you're a space junkie this is great! Interesting exhibits on early space, living/working in space, those who have made it happen (there are plaques of all inductees along the walls in the museum so you can read about the inventions and people who've made space exploration possible), and even a fun Space Shuttle landing simulator (free!) kids of all ages can try. Just please be considerate and let others waiting behind you have a try. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a family of 4 to finally get the picture and move on after they'd each tried it about four times (and no, your 3 year old wasn't even doing it-he was trying to go to Daddy).

If you're planning a visit to the SpacePort or want to see something different in the area, this is great. Nice gift shop with reasonably priced souvenirs, too.

Thank Saranger

Very disappointed. A lot to read, not much to see except for the outside exhibit that you can see before purchasing your tickets. Only 2.5 floors out of 4 had exhibits, the rest was under construction or empty.

I usually visit once a year, sometimes twice a year. They have permanent displays for space history but on the ground floor they change out exhibits about every six months to a year.
Reasonably priced. You can buy a ticket just for the museum or for the Imax theater or both. The Imax shows educational films that are entertaining.

If you visit Alamogordo, this is a "must see." Very informative, the building itself is unique. They often change their displays, so even though I live here, I've visited the museum several times over the years.
