“A gem of a hotel”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

Four of us stayed here last December, and we all loved it.
Yes the rooms are a little dated, but they are spotless and cleaned every day,
The food is great, if there is nothing on the menu for you they will cook whatever you fancy. The chef even made my wife a Birthday cake.
The biggest asset to the hotel are the staff, waiters, barmen and cleaners they all make you feel so welcome and will go out of there way to help you,
We loved it and have booked to return in January, 8 of us this time, Roll on January.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 2 weeks in March this year and we did not want to come home! The service we received in this hotel was immense from everyone employed, they go above and beyond to help you. If you like extra spicy food just ask the chefs and they will accommodate your taste needs, I got a vindaloo that was delicious but deadly hot.. Got a few looks when halfway through my meal I was asking for ice cream or milk ha :) there is a fantastic little beauty paulor that does beautiful manicures, pedicures, waxing, hair and relaxing massages that are so cheap it makes you feel like your robbing them of their time. All of the waiters make sure your never without a drink.. Always a plus! I've noticed the complaints about the rooms... The beds are so comfy we had a lay in most days even though there was lots to explore and the showers are spacious and always with hot water. It's like a lovely little apartment. I have lots more to say but I'd be here all day! My boyfriend has booked us back into this hotel for 3 weeks in December to cover New Years for my birthday and I can't wait so very excited! I would also like to say Thankyou for my stay Aldeia Santa Rita and we shall see you very soon! :) <3

The Aldeia Santa Rita is a small hotel, consisting of 2 storey traditional buildings surrounded by well-kept gardens. The rooms are dated in need decoration, the AC is past it’s best, very noisy and not very efficient, in fact the ceiling fan does a better job. The rooms are cleaned daily to good standard.

The hotel pool is small which I would imagine gets very crowded when the hotel is busy, because of the heat we spent most of our time at the beach which is located down a footpath a few minutes away from the hotel.

There are loads of shacks along the beach, we used the nearest one at the end of the footpath, the sand was too hot to walk to the others. The sunbeds were about £1 for the day and a cold bottle of beer about 50p.

We were all inclusive at the hotel but wished we went B&B. We didn’t use the pool bar very much and the food in the local restaurants was so cheap, Two steak meals and a bottle of wine was only £12.

As with every all-inclusive hotel the choice of food was repetitive and limited, after a few days we ate out just to have something different. The standard of the food was good and if you didn’t like what you ordered the waiters got you something else. You could also request things like cheese toasties at lunchtime, if a Korma was too much.

The hotel staff were very friendly and attentive and after each meal you were asked to fill out a questionnaire which was their way getting a tip.

Out and About, 4 of us, booked a Taxi for the day for £10 and the driver took us to most of the local places of interest, well worth the money.

We also booked the JUNGLE BOOK TRIP through Thomas Cook, what a load of RUBBISH, I have never been on such a poorly organised trip, we spent most of the time sitting around on logs in the 40 degree heat waiting for something to happen, which it didn’t. The reception/eating area was a polytube greenhouse so hot it made you feel ill, they ran out of cold drinks and all the hundreds of flowerpots hanging from the ceiling dripped onto the tables and benches. The 7 elephants carried hundreds of tourists around the grounds most of the day, we had our 20 minute ride after a 2 hour wait. Then they had to perform circus tricks before being taken to the river where they had to perform again. There was nothing Jungle book about this trip it was more like Jungle cruelty. Along with many others we left the trip after just one day and booked a taxi back to the hotel, I did complain to Thomas Cook but they never responded. Rant over!

The Hotel Aldeia Santa Rita is suitable for the more mature travellers most of whom return each year. The place has a very friendly atmosphere and we met some great new friends during our 2 weeks stay. This was our first holiday in Goa , would I return yes, would I return to this hotel probably not. Having said that it was very good value and was a safe option for our first visit.

Midrange hotel. Clean, homely stay, friendly staff
, has a nice closeby uncrowded and clean beach. From this beach you can see dolphins if you stroll by at early morning. Pool is neat and clean. Dining options better at nearby restaurants. You get all for the price you pay.

We visited Santa Rita in 2nd week of June .

Hotel room are very clean, and nicely decorated. Location of the Hotel is fantastic and it is in heart of the Candolim. Staff are very nice and ready to serve you their best.

But choice are limited in breakfast and repeating items daily with one or two changes.

From back entrance of the hotel , you can reach to Beach within few minutes walk.

Due to Off season Bar is closed and Swimming Pool also not up to the mark.

Over all stay was satisfactory . Recommendation for Family stay.

One suggestion: reception situated in the end of the hotel. Guest have to reach a long way to register . It should be in front of the hotel to feel welcomed

Room Tip: I 3 and I 4 in Coimba Villa

Like the title says I think that this is way better than is to be expected when comparing with a number of other hotels in the area of a similar rating.
Check-in always very friendly even if the night porter has just been woken up, which has got to be an acheivement. Try that in a hotel in Spain at 3 in the morning....

Worth the extra to get the superior room for sure, the beds are comfortable and have really thick mattresses, nice and spacious and have a small "kitchenette" with a fridge, kettle and sink - great for early morning cups of tea on the balcony watching the world wake up.

Love the wet-room type of bathroom facilities, just right for India - you don't need to buy extra toilet paper as in some properties (often the rolls are the size of a postage stamp) but you may prefer to indulge in some really soft stuff as lets face it you could be using a lot!

Is that just me i wonder??

Staff are absolutely adorable, always ready with a smile, nothing is too much trouble, in fact will go out of their way to do almost anything for you no matter that it's not on the list (again - Spanish hotels take note - this treatment does not cost money most of the time)

I love the food, although we take All Inclusive, we still eat out quite a lot, but love knowing that every night there will be something really well made and presented if we change our mind - including a few nights a week some really special gala nights - freshly made tandoori kebabs (meat, fish or veg), freshly made breads most night to order as well as some fairly well known European dishes if that's what takes your fancy ( it doesn't take mine, so i can't comment on the quality - however most guests when we have been there seem to be happy with them)

Back to breakfast now though - the most important meal of the day they say, well i don't normally do much in the form of brekkie, but how can i not here?? As a committed curry-a-holic i love the breakfasts here - waking up and wondering what south-indian delights are going to be on offer this morning - will it be sambhar and idli, will there be masala dhosa, will they put out the coconut chutney...every day starts off great.
On top of that there are always fresh eggs to order (try the masala ommelette if you want a kick to your eggs), sausages or bacon and beans, the usual, plus plenty of toast, jam butter - the usual including tea, juice etc. the staff will even make you a fresh brew of masala chai without even a little bit of fuss.

The hotel is laid out as series of portuguese style villas overhung by tropical plants and trees and really well kept at all times, the pool is clean and the whole complex is very relaxed, perfect for chilling out whatever sort of a holiday you want to do.

Although located at the bottom end of Candolim, so almost as far away from the bustle of the centre and of Calangute or Baga as you can get, it's so cheap and easy to get around using the local taxis, or hiring a scooter (you'll pay about £3.50 a day locally) that I think the peace and quiet in the property easily make up for the added distance travelled around.

It's also only a few minutes walk from the beach, and that really is a good way to get up and down the resort whilst burning off some of the calories taken in both in food and beer.

Will definitely be back again soon, can't wait!

Room Tip: superior all the way
