My first impression of resort was not great. It looked like an old property with small entrance. However, the resort is quite different after you cross the reception. They had a nice one man band playing goan songs when we entered. Since I had booked for 3 nights, they provided free pickup from airport.
The resort has big rooms. Firstly, I didn't like the tiles. They were brown in color and looked like old style. But over days, I started liking them because they brought that old fashioned rustic look to the big room. Now the details:

Positives:
1. The rooms are big. We took Studio suites. The outdoor is spacious and you can spend countless hours outside in the garden
2. Excellent Service. I've seen similar service in Ramoji studios in Hyderabad. After that, this resort. Really Amazing service.
3. The beach is 5 mins walking distance from resort. Couple of shops along the way. You can bargain hard there
4. The resort had provided live entertainment for all 3 nights that we were there. And it was really good
5. They had day long activities for kids. So, keeps them busy

Negatives:
1. The resort is in Candolim area. Not much to move around. Couple of other good hotel - but nothing more
2. Food options were quite standard. Similar type of food (Punjabi) during lunch/dinner. However, they were nice enough to accommodate our requirements for Jain food and prepared what we asked for. So, it got compensated
3. Liquor is expensive. I've stayed in 5 star acco in Goa as well but never had to pay 250 Rs. for 60ml of Smirnoff.
4. They do provide free pickup/drop for 3 night stay from Vasco railway station but not from Madgaon. I couldn't understand it. The diff is only 3-4 kms. They should be flexible here as well.
5. Wifi is quite slow. I couldn't download any of the movies (even short ones) that my friends have uploaded in facebook/whatsapp.

Overall, a great experience. Lot of people made our stay comfortable, Manish Gurung (Manager), Viraj, Mr. Alphonso (Chef) among the people whose name I could capture. But everyone was very courteous.

Room Tip: Try for rooms near the swimming pool

Dear Guests,

Warm greetings from Whispering Palms Beach Resort !

Thank you for choosing our resort, and taking the time out to review the hotel on TripAdvisor.

We thank you for your positive review on the resort, the rooms, the spacious outdoors, the location, the staff, the service, the entertainment, the resort activities and everything that made your stay excellent. We take great pleasure and pride in serving and entertaining our guests.

However, we are also concerned about the negatives, i.e.:
1. Candolim area: The resort is on Calangute beach, the Queen of beaches, in north Goa. After the Goa government cleaned up the beach last year, this has area has become so popular with the tourists.

2. Food: We have taken note of your comments on the food options, however our Chef, Mr.Alphonso, whom you have appreciated, is always more than happy the food of your choice.

4. Pickup: We have taken note.

5. The Wifi: We provide budgeted wifi for free to our guests, which is more than what is the standard practice in hotels. We are working on a protocol, wherein higher speeds and downloads could be availed at an additional cost.

Once again, Thank you for your feedback and my team and I do hope to have another opportunity to serve you and be able to better meet your expectations.

Guests like you and your kind words of appreciation for us, are a huge motivation and inspiration for my team.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Goa.

Warm Regards,

Jacob John

We visited the hotel on 14 august and stayed till 17. we were 47 of us and had booked a number of rooms .
pros of the hotel: They allow you to be in the pool after pool hrs. They have nice kareoke and live music every night and they are good at it.
cons : Wifi for just one person per room. This is stupid. No hand towels just two bath towels provided. Parking your rented cars or scooters outside, as they have parking for only there own cars plus 3-4 guest cars. Most importatly the food and the breakfast was not at all upto the mark

Dear Guests,

Warm greetings from Whispering Palms Beach Resort !

Thank you for choosing our resort, and taking the time out to review the hotel on TripAdvisor.

We thank you for your positive review on the resort, the pool facility, and the entertainment. We take great pleasure and pride in serving and entertaining our guests.

Food :- We have taken note of your comments on the food variety, however, as you were part of a group we were providing a set menu decided by the group coordinator prior to the arrival of this group. Our Chef would have been more than happy to have made the food of your choice.

Wifi: We provide budgeted wifi for free to our guests, which is more than what is the standard practice in hotels. We are working on a protocol that if you want more than one ID in your room, there will be a way to receive it at an additional cost. This is done to ensure adequate speed for all guests of the hotel.

Parking: We have arrangements for parking in front of the hotel. With high movement and presence of the hotel guards near the door, the safety of your vehicle is more or less guaranteed.

Once again, thank you for your feedback and my team and I do hope to have another opportunity to serve you and be able to better meet your expectations.

Guests like you and your kind words of appreciation for us, are a huge motivation and inspiration for my team.

We too look forward to welcoming you back to our resort, not only as a group, but also as individuals to spend the time exploring Goa.

Warm Regards,

We were on an AI two week holiday,we stayed July/August 2014 (monsoon season)
We saw the hotel quiet & busy with large conference groups & families.
The staff were always extremely helpful & friendly particularly the waiters.
The food was excellent and the head chef ( Hedwig ) would always come out after every meal to check if we were happy with the food , he would cook what ever you required to your taste.
The location of the hotel is about a 3 minute walk to the beach.
Our room was cleaned every day with clean bed , towels & toiletries replenished everyday.
We both enjoyed our holiday in Goa & had an amazing time. Fascinating to experience the Indian culture, and Indian food.
We would recommend this hotel & would love to return one day.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the swimming pool.

Visited this hotel from 1st august to 5th august.
Good hotel.
Good rooms. Its near the beach.
Room service is best.
The service at the reception is a bit lousy.
They dont communicate back at all.
The person handling the room cleaning was good.
Also one more negative point.
Service at restuarant where they serve breakfast is ok ok.
Breakfast also dosent have variety .
Vegatarian Food is good but lacks variety.
Overall a good hotel.
Will surely visit again.
They have to improve where they are lagging.
Will recommend others too.

Warm greetings from Whispering Palms Beach Resort !

Thank you for choosing our resort, and taking the time out to review the hotel on TripAdvisor.

Your feedback is surely very important to us and the concerns you have raised with regards to the our limited options for breakfast, and that you found the reception staff wanting in service. We shall take corrective steps to ensure that our guests have an enjoyable stay. I am sure that you will appreciate that my colleagues did try all in their capacity to make your holiday better.

We have taken note of your valuable suggestion on limited variety of vegetarian food and I shall personally take this matter with our Chef.

On a positive note, we are happy to know that you liked the stay enough to find the resort to worth visiting again and recommending to others.

Once again, Thank you for your feedback and my team and I do hope to have another opportunity to serve you and be able to meet your expectations and also to show you the difference your feedback has made.

We have visited India for several years and stayed in Candolim. This was our 8th stay at Whispering Palms. The first time we stayed was before it had the big refurbishment several years ago, we loved it that much we returned the following year, after refurbishment and still as impressive. This is India so don't expect it to be on a par with European holiday destinations, what I can say though that in my opinion the staff, cleanliness, and atmosphere exceeds any European hotel I've stayed in.
We stay at the palms on an all inclusive basis in a garden terrace room. On the all inclusive all food and drinks are served until 11pm.
The food is mainly Indian so if your expecting a big range of English food you will be disappointed, in saying that there is an English dish most evenings a well stocked salad bar and a meat dish on the outside griddle. Breakfast ...eggs available every day, bacon is deep fried, and chicken or beef sausages, there is a toaster and breakfast cereal, pastries and fruit. Throughout the day you can get chips, pizza, burgers . If there is nothing on the menu you like the waiters will be happy to get the chef to make whatever you want.
There are plenty of Sun loungers and shade around the pool plus a sundeck with lovely views but be warned you need to be up early to establish your sunbed. Even though the pool is beautiful we never stay at the hotel in the day we prefer to take the 3 minute walk to the beach, where we have regular sunbeds and eat and drink at the Goan hut shack for a couple of pounds a day. Sometimes when we return to the hotel we have a swim in the lovely pool which usually at the latter end of the day is quite warm.
What I would like to say about this hotel is the staff give 110% nothing is to much trouble they will go out of their way to deliver the best service possible to make your holiday as comfortable as possible. The rooms are cleaned to an extremely high standard with toiletries topped up everyday along with fresh towels and bed linen. The gardens and communal areas are immaculately maintained.
All in all I have never felt a need to complain about anything in this hotel your guaranteed a good night's sleep and a restful holiday if that's what you want.
Just need to add that if you fancy a good meal... opposite the hotel is the Mermaid restaurant it's usually best to pre book amazing steak and baked vegetables followed by homemade desserts the Pavlova is to die for...the price is unbelievable 2 of us ate 3 courses with wine for under £15.00.

Dear Guests,

Warm greetings from Whispering Palms Beach Resort !

Thank you for choosing our resort, and taking the time out to review the hotel on TripAdvisor! Your choosing our resort for the 8th time is our honour.

We thank you for your positive and vivid review, which is a tribute to the resort, the location, the food in the all inclusive package that you took, the excellence of the staff and their service, the hygiene and cleanliness, the garden terrace room that you stayed in, the swimming pool, the
refurbishment of the toiletries and keeping the freshness of towels and bed linen, overall comparative highlighting of the good atmosphere and advantages vis-a-vis European resorts that you've stayed in, the immaculate maintainence of common areas, and in finding the resort the place for your restful holiday. Yes, sunbeds are much sought after and we never seem to have enough, even after increasing their numbers. You have seen this resort in all it's glory before and after the refurbishment, and we cherish your words, emanating from the depth of your experience with the resort over the years, mean a lot for us. The wittily subtle title, "Don't tell everyone",
says it all! :) We are glad that you explored the gastronomic delights of the surrounding areas and enjoyed a sumptuous meal at affordable price. We believe in the dictum, that a happy guest is our ambassador and take great pleasure and pride in serving our guests!
