As it is a big property management is not able to take care of problems occur during stay,at the time of diwali don't select this resort, too much rush worst buffet people are waiting for rotis, toast etc.dont take rooms far away from reception. Wifi is available only in reception area. As it has good area outside ur room hire a scooter an take it to ur room directly.Enjoy goa; candolim beach is the best , visit agauda fort also.

We were there over the 2nd weekend in July2014. We were in a forum meet and a group of 40 Members.

Price negotiation was good, we were not very choosy anyway.
Room Allotment was smooth and we were given Pool facing rooms. Infact we had the pool all to ourselves as the property has about 5-6 pools I was told. Also due too off season the resort was otherwise empty.

The rooms, more like apartments were very very spacious and clean with all toiletries at hand.

The Breakfast, Lunch and dinner served in the package was good.

Staff was attentive to the level they did not allow some of the members to carry drinks near the pool, which is a good thing.

Room service was also decent and cleaning was done when requested. we would like special mention of Mr. Amit the F&B manager who was very helpful.

We loved the place so much that during the meeting it was announced that next years forum meet would be conducted at the same venue.

All the best.

Aesthetically a beautiful location, the palm trees add to the character and some of the properties have been built around the trees.

Food is of a decent standard and staff were good, there were a few times the standards slipped but they always made it up.

Good choice of swimming pools and a gym that did the job!

WiFi was poor but that worked in my favour as it meant I spent very little time on devices.

Arrived in middle of night- refused room service even though it is offered, walked in the pitch black to the kitchens for some water the young lad tried to charge me 60RS when it was 40RS.
Room was massive but sadly filthy, all furniture was broken and ancient, no safe.
The rep was worse than useless and as usual Indian and in cohorts with the Hotel, so no complaint was taken seriously.
The room was never cleaned in the 3 wks we were there except by ourselves after going to Newtons and buying cleaning products. We asked everyday for the rooms to be cleaned but they were not interested.
Then bedding and towels, they made our bed with dirty sheets, footprints and lipstick on!!!!
U have to beg and beg and beg for clean towels.
After a week we finally got a guide of what to expect, what a waste of paper as they did not practice any of it.
Our balcony was left open most days for any burglar to just come on in and rob us, again reception and the rep did nothing about it n the Manager was never available.
Breakfast - if u like raw eggs in any form then look no further, and that is all they serve, nothing else !!!!
The hotel had 7 pools, well they were well hidden coz we only saw 4 and none had sun loungers or umbrellas etc and the bars were closed.
No one stayed in the hotel it was dead, we saw an handful of guests in all the 3 weeks.
The Highland is a very depressing Hotel, no atmosphere, dreadful incompetent staff (the worst in all the hotels we have stayed in India).
Location is good as it's near Newtons supermarket (their strange in there). And also near all the restaurants and just a short walk to the beach.
Extra to keep ur room on, (£60).
Would not go back to the Highland Beach.

Have travelled to India several times and it never lets us down. Highland beach is a great hotel in a busy area. I would rather south Goa but the family like the busier north.
Food is always excellent no matter where you eat. Try the local street food, you will be right back. Piping hot tea and a samosa for around a £1.

Room Tip: Please do bit stay in your hotel to eat. Good everywhere is so good. If you want to extra safe eat...
