Lemon Tree Amarante Beach Resort, Goa
Ranked #10 of 69 Hotels in Candolim
Reviewed 19 February 2014

Just made a short trip to this small hotel in Goa- Candolim beach on the 31st of January for 3 nights.
It's a small hotel , but excellent service.beach is a 5 minute walk from the hotel.
Got a free upgrade to their villa rooms. That felt nice, it was a great Heritage Villa . Must give the staff credit for an immaculately well kept hotel, very clean, warm and friendly staff- always smiling. It was our anniversary, they made a special cake for us & arranged a special candlelight dinner pool side, Lovely ambience. However their selection of fresh fruits in the breakfeast buffet was minimal.
Chef Vinayak is an asset to F& B service.

Room Tip: Try to opt for the Heritage villa rooms.

Fairly small hotel that has everything you need. 10 min walk to the beach, well stocked breakfast buffet, nice large and clean rooms, staff all keen to look after you. Lovely swimming pool and garden with plenty of shade to relax by the pool.
Read a couple of bad reviews about this hotel but in my view everything was just perfect and would definitely recommend. Great area as loads of restaurants, supermarket and shops just outside of hotel but not horrendously busy.

The hotel is expensive but represents very food value. Staff are friendly, helpful and very obliging. The hotel rooms are large - huge comfortable beds and immaculate.
The breakfast menu was superb and the whole stay was faultless.
Grounds and facilities are fine and the hotel is well located for the beach, close to the main drag but very quiet and calm.
All in all an excellent stay.

Excellent : Staff Courtesy ; Location - which is right on the main Candolim Road so you can take a walk in the night without fear , also this is just 100 m from Beach .

Good : Food in Citrus Cafe and Republic of Noodles - variety / quality and taste

Average : Room Size ; Pool ; Business centre and other recreational activities .

In all my trip can be said to be fully satisfying . Staff ensured I could manage a cake on the night of my anniversary and that too was not charged . I have rated room size as avg in comparison to hotels I have stayed in previously but by no means this is small . What ever were the gaps - staff courtesy made more than enough for the same .

May think of a return trip

We stayed at the Lemon Tree for 5 days and had a wonderful experience. The resort is located on a busy street in Candolim. But, the traffic noise is barely audible from within the resort. The centerpiece of the resort is the large and clean swimming pool which is very kid friendly. The resort grounds are well maintained and lush. The gym has a couple of well maintained treadmills, elliptical and a weights machine. Bottled water and towels are provided at no additional charge.
The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. The views from the rooms are not great (no beach view or resort landscaping views). The breakfast buffet is excellent with a good spread of both continental and Indian items. The live stations serve you custom made omlettes, dosas, pancakes and waffles. Fresh fruit juice is also provided with the breakfast. The head chef is very friendly and made sure that food was to our liking. The staff attending to us at the breakfast was also very friendly and attentive.
The staff attending to our rooms were also very friendly and efficient. They made sure the room was stocked with bottled water and other amenities and were extremely polite. I am very pleased with the service at this resort.
A short 5 minute walk from the resort gets you to the wonderful Candolim beach. The beach crowded with food stalls and you can rent cabanas from these stalls or if you buy food/drinks, you get to use the cabanas for free.
We were disappointed that the Wi-Fi was not free and even after paying for it, we found that the connection speeds are not that great. Also, service during dinner time was quite slow which seems to be the norm in most restaurants in Goa.
Stepping outside the resort onto the busy main street, one can find a variety of restaurant options. But, if you are vegetarian, good luck! There is only one pure vegetarian restaurant within a 5 km radius of the resort. Yes, other restaurant have vegetarian options but the food wasn't great.
The resort is a good 40 minutes drive from the airport and the resort provides airport pickup and drop offs.

Overall, I am very pleased with my stay at the resort and I would definitely stay here again.

We were a pair of 2 couples, stayed in the resort for 3 nights. The staff of the hotel made all efforts to make our stay so comfortable and homely. We really enjoyed the daily breakfast spread. On of the afternoon's we came back to the hotel really hungry with a few Maggi packets and to our delight the hotel chef pleasantly cooked and served Maggi to us.
We highly recommend this resort to anyone looking to stay in North goa.

People, across departments, are happy to help and reach out to ensure you have a comfortable stay. Appreciate your involvement of specially talented people. A big hurray to all of you. Thanks a lot, and really look forward to coming back.. Cheers!!
