“Great experience!”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

We stayed there for 5 days from June 1st to 6th and it was a pleasant experience. The staff is very courteous and prompt in answering room service calls. The location is fantastic, there's a back gate which takes you directly on to the beach and since its not as crowded as Baga or Calangute, its quite a nice place to sit and relax. All in all a very well maintained, value for money place.

We stayed in March 2014. It was our second stay at Santana and have booked to go back it is so good. The rooms are large and airy and cleaned with fresh towels every day. The room boys are fantastic, very efficient and creative with towels - we had a new design every day! All the staff are very polite and friendly. Breakfasts are the best in Goa. The restaurant is also very good.

This is undoubtedly the best resort available in that area for its prce range. The resort is right on the main road of candolim. The rooms are designed like mini apartment like villas which looks really nice.

I got the room for almost 700/- INR per night including breakfast for 3 persons but that was during Oct 2011 via an offer on cleartrip. and I would say it was a steal at that price. It was not just a single room. It was actually a 1 BHK with TV, SOFA in the hall, a Kitchen having a mini refrigerator stuffed already with some of the beverages and alcohol (Charegeable :P). The bedroom had a nice king size bed with comfortable mattress, AC working alright which is quite essential considering the heat and humidity of Goa.

There is a nice, small swimming pool in the resort which for your leisure and also has a mini bar attached to it so that you can have some chilled beer while in the water. Awesome feeling.
There is another minibar on the land and a swimming pool near the dining area but i think that pool is just for the show and you ar not supposed to swim there.

Coming to the food, it was quite good and surprisingly reasonabley priced. The morning breakfast buffet is simple but good with toasts, butter, Jam, varieties of egg based preperation, poori or idly, fruit juices, tea and coffee. So basically it caters to everyone.

some of the nights, while having the dinner you can also enjoy some live music which they arrange from time to time.

Also its pretty near to the beach, just a minute walk I would say. Would have loved if it would have been placed nearer to the beach than this and getting the seaview from the room but that's the only minore complaint.

Anyways if you want to enjoy the seaview while having dinner or lunch you can just go on the beach and you will find the "Calamari Bath & Binge" restaurant which is quite highly rated and has really good food options and live music as well.

So to conclude, I would say you won't regret your stay in this resort. The staff is friendly and hospitable, nice big and clean rooms, good food options, close to both the main road and the beach and biggest factor of them all, the tariff is best for its class.

We reached the place on an weekend, the welcoming from the staff was good by providing the seasonal fruit drink to refresh yourself, which was delicious.
The staff was very friendly and ready to assist. The quality of food was great.
Since the resort is near the beach it was convenient to visit whenever you feel like to get the breeze of Sea. The resort is best place to relax yourself as it well maintained with Good fixtures and gardening.

Room Tip: Try to take room facing poolside or beach side as it gives a pleasant feel.

I travelled with my family to Goa and stayed at Santana Beach resort from 30th May to 2nd June. I had booked the resort after checking out several reviews on Makemytrip and Tripadvisor, and I must say I did not make any mistake in choosing Santana.

From my perspective, the resort is an ideal place to stay for those who like to avoid too crowded places yet near the beach, and want to enjoy a leisure vacation without having to pay a hefty price. Check in and check out process was smooth. The rooms are clean and the guest does not get a chance to complain in any way. If possible, try to bargain for a room with a good view. The one I got was a bit on the backside with nothing much to look at from the balcony - though it did not matter much since I spent most of my time outside.

Everyone including the Reception desk, Housekeeping and Restaurant staff are well trained in handling guests in a polite and friendly manner. The resort also arranges for reasonable travel cabs with trusted drivers, so make sure to book your travel through the resort rather than having to hassle yourself with outside taxis who can sometimes over charge you.

The food in the resort is good. The morning breakfast was clean and filling. Before starting the day in summer make sure you avoid too much of tea/coffee and substitute it with multiple helpings of fresh juice that is served here - it helps in keeping your body glucose levels high. They also have two bars with a wide choice of cocktails for the evening, so a plus point there too. I did not have lunch or dinner in the resort, so cannot comment on that bit.

They also have a great shack restaurant called "Calamari" right on the beach, and it is famous for it's wide range of cocktails, multi-cuisine food and music. We found the taste of food more targetted towards foreign tourists due to less salt and spice in the food, so if you are a typical Indian spicy (teekha) food lover, you should try out another restaurant nearby called "The Curry House". But that's not saying the food in Calamari is not good - I personally enjoyed it and it's just a matter of choice about who likes what. Note - The Calamari shack restaurant is usually closed during monsoons, so check with the hotel beforehand on it's availability to avoid disappointment.

The resort has two swimming pools with one small and another of average size, which looked great though I could not take a dip because of our busy sightseeing and water sports schedule. But it's definitely recommended for those who prefer spending more time in the resort than outside.

Overall, it has been a fantastic and memorable experience for our family. When I come back to Goa next, Santana will definitely be on the top of my list of preferred hotels, provided I choose to stay in Candolim. Thanks guys, you have been wonderful! :)

Room Tip: Try to bargain for a room with a good view, if not exactly poolside.
