We were 8 couples and 15 children getting together after 20 years for a re-union. After a lot of deliberation we chose Aashyana Lakhanpal for our stay. We definitely researched a lot before we pinned down on this property. We booked all the 11 rooms (Main Villa and the Casinahs) at the property and there was enough room for this group. The property gave us what we were looking for
- Large open spaces and two big pools
- A wonderful deck in the main villa to sit-out, relax and talk over drinks and food, while the children played amongst themselves and remained under supervision
- Nice and clean rooms, tastefully decorated
- Great staff (Roshan in particular was very helpful)
- Privacy, in our rooms or in their vast property - great niches created all over the property to hang-out or break away from the group
- Food as we desired, we did make special requests particularly for the children
- Good portable Bose speakers to play our music
- Car arrangements and drivers upon request we used this service at a reasonable price
- Airport pick-up/drops, all well coordinated
The only problem we had was getting some staff to service us late at night One recommendation to the owners would be have an area etched out for outdoor sports (A volleyball, basketball net, a foot ball/cricket lawn).
We were always going to have a memorable stay since we were meeting after a very long time and thankfully the property did not let us down in any manner. If you are a large group wanting to spend some quality time together, this is just the perfect place to do that.....Not to say that a small family can't have a good time here.

Room Tip: The main villa had great rooms and sit-outs compared to the Casinah's. If it is for a group, go...

Thank you for such a detailed review of your stay at Aashyana Lakhanpal and we are happy to hear your reunion was such a success. We loved having your group here and felt the place very much came to life during that time.

Your comment regarding late night service has been noted and we will look into it. Additionally, we are always looking at ways to enhance the guests' experience so your suggestion of an outdoor sports area is welcomed.

Hopefully we will get the opportunity to welcome you back to Aashyana in the not too distant future. At least make it before the next 20 years!!

We were 5 couples with 8 children looking for a relaxed week away in Goa. Undeniably, May is hot in Goa but thrse were the only dates which were mutually convenient.

The villa gave us everything we were looking for
- Some great rooms in the main villa with
- privacy when needed
- areas to sit together as a group
- great housekeeping staff and cleanliness in the rooms and common areas
- peace of mind as far as the children were concerned, ie, no worries on safety, where they may be, etc. The children had each other for company and had a blast.
- amazing greenery
- access to the beach from the property
- helpful staff though reduced in number from peak season
- Easy access to the buzz in North Goa (admittedly some establishments had taken a siesta for the summer).
- Excellent Indian food with the cook accommodating individual preferences

The highlights for us were the decor...Very tasteful, privacy, no need to get up by a fixed time for breakfast, the pools which were a true luxury as they were fairly large and exclusive...In fact most days we were in the pool well past midnight.

Though not major, some areas for improvement would be cleanliness in the kitchen areas and more frequent cleaning of the newer pool.

All in all, a very pleasurable and memorable stay and highly recommended.

My husband and I recently had a wedding celebration in Aashyana Lakhanpal and we couldn't have picked a better spot !! Their service and hospitably was impeccable. We had 35 guests staying there for a weekend and hosted 2 events which meant a lot of coordinations involving airport transfers, caterers, make-up artists, and wedding planners. Karen and Mr. Sethi went out of their way to accommodate all our requests and those of our guests. I stayed on longer before and after the guests and this property filled with lush greenery, exotic ancient trees, well maintained pools, and the owners vast art and book collection, offers a perfect getaway in a tranquil and luxurious setting. The rooms are very spacious specially in the Main Villa. I really enjoyed the breakfast there with an array of fresh fruits, freshly squeezed juices and simple but tasty Indian or Continental menu. The service was occasionally a touch slow but we had a whole lot of demanding guests and they did manage to keep up although they do not have a professionally equipped kitchen. Overall this is a hidden gem in Goa and well definitely return for another holiday!!

Room Tip: Each villa/ room has its own unique character so figure out what is most suitable for you.

This is our second memorable stay in paradise! A little different as we stayed in a casinha vs the main house. The enthusiastic welcome from Mr Sethi, Karen and Matilda, who came with an enveloping hug, was heartwarming. Having the pool to ourselves was like being on a deserted island! Early morning walks on the far from crowded beach, food shacks within easy distanceand breakfasts of champions made our visit one for the books! The quiet ambience, beautifully appointed rooms, exquisite gardens, exotic flowers, the constant trickle of flowing water are sounds that permeate the conscious, leaving a sense of calm. This is the perfect place to relax, rejuvenate and recall with much fondness!! Thanks to all the staff for making our holiday wonderful! Just one minor snag..the WIFI was intermittent., a necessity in today's age. A small bug in the larger picture. We shall definitely be back!!!

Thank you so much for taking the time out to review Aashyana Lakhanpal on TripAdvisor. You made our place sound so beautiful and spiritual with your descriptive words.

Wi-Fi does tend to be a little erratic in this area mainly due to the large number of trees around us. However, we are always looking for solutions and hopefully advances in technology will help us overcome this soon.

In the meantime, we were very happy to welcome you back and hope we get the opportunity again in the not too distant future.

I stayed there with my family and had the best experience.

It is so green and cool with trees around. There is some lighting need near pool and walkways if one has to visit the beach in night.

Excellent service from the staff and cooking was really nice.

Majestic huge old trees were a really treat for the kids.

It was lovely to have an open bathroom , my children aged 9 and 4 were surprised. We have stayed in 5 star hotels but my kids loved this very much.

Thank you for your recent review on TripAdvisor and your kind words.

It was a pleasure to have you and your family stay at one of our Casinhas and we are happy the boys loved the concept of an open bathroom.

As you know, we are looking into energy saving lighting for our walkways and your suggestions for this were very welcome indeed..

In the meantime, kind regards from the AL Team and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.

We stayed at Aashyana Lakhanpal, in Villa Venus the three bedroom villa, from 12 May 2014 to 16 May 2014. As far as Goa is concerned we go there at least twice a year, so we have stayed at a number of different kinds of places. Nearly all of them have been very good but this is the only one where we have wanted to stay at again and again.
Pradeep handled all the booking related queries and the booking itself. It was done very efficiently with no cause for complaint. The entire property is located in a very innocuous looking lane off the Calangute Candolim rd. Villa Venus, where we stayed is not located in the main property but about two minutes walk from it. The villa is beautiful, they have allowed the garden to grow wild which gives it a certain edgy charm. The pool is beautiful and the water is soft and chlorine-less. They do not offer either lunch or dinner but breakfast is included, and what breakfast. The breakfast is prepared fresh at the villa kitchen as you sit at the dinning table or outside by the pool. The constituents of the breakfast are simple, cereals, eggs to order, fruit, juice, tea and coffee but they are delicious and prepared with real warmth and care. We were looked after by Andre and Lucy. They prepared our breakfast and did the house-keeping. They are absolutely wonderful people. The Villa itself is huge with big bedrooms and a fantastic pool area. The beach is just 5 minutes away,it is a comparatively crowd free beach with clean beautiful sand. Part of the Candolim beach stretch. All the staff at the property, including the watchmen at Villa Venus were very courteous and helpful.
Generally when we visit Goa we like to travel all over, because there is so much to see in Goa. However, on this trip for the first time we ventured out only for a few hours a day. The Villa held us in thrall and forced us to relax and do nothing. This was a place where we felt completely at home. We will be definitely going there at least once a year for the foreseeable future. To be pampered and spoiled and to absolutely relax, this is the place to go to.

Heavenly place set in its own grounds with total privacy. clean beautiful swimming pool, perfect beach access with sunbeds to hire but not too crowded. The sweetest most attentive staff. Fantastic food. Lovely rooms: fans and a.c. Charming house-keeping staff. Wonderful garden. walking distance to shops. onsite massage. I have spent a couple of weeks there every year for ages and it reinvigorates as nowhere else.

Room Tip: you get what you pay for in that the expensive rooms are quiet and spacious. All rooms have ensuite...
