“Mount Girnar, Junagarh”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 March 2014

One mountain that houses temples of most Indian faiths, built over centuries, and home to the naga sadhus. The climb is 10000 steps one side, we were short of time. The Bhavnath Mahadev Temple, is the first one that you can reach by car, and is right at the base before the climb starts.

“Datta mandir”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 January 2014

It's an important pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Jains. 16 Jain temples are on the way after the climb of 4000 steps. From that 6000 steps means totaly climb the 10,000 steps for Datta mandir on top of a pinnacle. The original footprints of Lord Duttatrey's are believed to be located on the lonely peak at Girnar.Datta mandir are daily served free meal from their kitchen. 4-5 hrs required to reach to Datta mandir mostly @ early morg start to climb. Street light avalible on certain distance also u get some snaks & water while climb but u pay more here. But that pay is worth u get correct idea while u climb.
This is my 3rd time to reach to Datta mandir.

“Girnar Mountain”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 October 2013

Totally there are about 9999 steps to and fro from Girnar
Girnar also known as Girnar Hill or Girinagar

main tourist attraction in the area, top of the hill, is a group of beautifully carved Jain temples built between 1128 and 1500. Neminath, the 22nd tirthankara.

There is the peak of Ambaji, with a height of 3,330 ft (1,010 m), which is famous for the temple dedicated to the goddess Amba Mata dating back to the 12th century

The steps go down and up again to Gorakhnath Peak at 1116m (3666 ft) above sea level, where there are footprints of the rishi Gorakhnath

The steps again go down and there is Kamandal Kund and another peak where there are footprints of Guru Dattatreya. The steps to Dattatrey Peak are quite difficult.

Visitors must climb 8,500 steps to reach the top of the hill, so it is best to start early in the morning (before 6 am)
