We have been a fan of Mint Route since the time we first went to this place. Actually, we wanted to go there even before the opening. :)
So this time with their Mexican food festival going on, we couldn't have missed being there once again. Just need an excuse. This place is famous among many people, so you have to wait for a table even on weekdays. (says a lot about their food and popularity). We thankfully are early eaters and reached well before the crowd comes in.
We were suggested to try out the Mexican wood burnt pizza, tamale and mocktails. Great. So that was the order. We added empanada to the list. Just enjoyed the empanadas and mocktails. We were surprised when the pizza arrived coz it is not a simple thin crust pizza with Mexican toppings. It is a two layered pizza which enhances the taste. And our surprise was not to end there. Tamale is something that we completely enjoyed and are sure to go to Mint Route at least once more before the Mexican food festival ends just for the sake of tamale.
After having this, dear hubby was wanting for more and I noticed poutine on the menu. When I read out the description to hubby, we both couldn't resist from ordering. (considering that this dish has a special story in our life) It is French fries with Mexican toppings and cheese. Yummmmm.....
Finally we looked up for ordering desserts and I was initially disappointed to find that they have removed Black Ecstasy from their menu. So we ordered Chocolate Mousse. One bite of this heavenly dessert and all my regrets of missing Black Ecstasy vanished. It was indeed a great end to a wonderful meal.
