I have stayed here for GAP/INN since 2001 onwards on many occasions. This hotel has changed a little over the years except some changes in the reception area (restaurant is bigger, door is from inside the reception, coffee shop is not separate now but restaurant is coffee shop!)... rooms are similar over the years.
ROOMS: good rooms, good cooling, windows open to railway track on one side and to other buildings on another side. so not much of a view. Rooms have a comfortable old style sofa chairs, table, fridge, TV, desk to work on, and old fashioned granite bathroom. I felt this time they need to renovate the rooms too. They are fine for now, but surely with rapidly changing hotels around (Holiday Inn is at similar price) they need to change things faster than they perhaps might think.
STAFF: Staff is fine except how they behave awkwardly to ask for tips. This is really uncomfortable experience and am very concerned about this, hope hotel management deals with this issue well. Even the staff who brought filled in water jug to our room expected tip everytime. It was his duty as part of daily room service, is not it?
LOCATION of this hotel is great - we could go all around in 'auto' within 3-20 min - so very good location.
FOOD: Interesting - they serve non-veg food in room (room menu) but not in the hotel (hotel is pure vegetarian). Breakfast is a small buffet - it is fine.
INTERNET: slow, at times does not work.
