Both the room and bathroom is small, but clean and decently laid. Service is decent.both quality quantity of food served is decent. Therefore looking at the price charged it is value for a business traveller.

I am staying in this hotel since last 6 years . Friendly staff, ready to resolve any complaint quickly. Location is good but slighly far from railway station and airport but facility is easily available to travel. Food quality is good. Room service is good.

I am surprised by the previous reviews in TA on this hotel. We stayed in this hotel in March 2013 for 3 nights and found this property to be sub-standard. The room we had was the 'supposedly' high end Super Deluxe room but was worse than rooms available at half it's rates. The room was small, had no ventilation or natural light. The hotel is located just meters away from a prime landmark (Ellis Bridge) but there was stink all around. The restaurant was sub-standard and we ended up having most of the meals outside. Certainly not recommended for family stays or for mid-budget travellers. The staff was always loitering around expecting a tip which was a huge irritant.

Room tip: Avoid the hotel!

Stayed in a double occupancy A/C room earlier this month at Hotel Golden Plaza. Its located in the ellisbridge area of Ahmedabad.

To begin with we took an auto from Ahmedabad railway station to the Hotel. The driver informed us that the fare was Rs 80 and we agreed. But to our dismay, he took us to every other hotel enroute except this one. When we insisted that we will only go to this hotel and nowhere else, he reluctantly agreed but kept saying that we will not get any rooms. When we did arrive and when it was confirmed that rooms were available, he jacked up the auto travel rate to Rs 180. We had only 2 options - either pay up or create a scene. The security guard of the hotel was not of much help. He knew the auto driver was swindling us but he kept quiet and appeared grumpy and disinterested. We had no other option but to pay him that amount.

Now coming to the hotel experience.. The room was quite good. Was also very clean. Bathroom was fine. Only disadvantage - the window was facing what appeared to be an abandoned building and there was constant sound of dishes being cleaned and washed downstairs. Coming to the room service .. it was prompt and punctual. However, we being vegetarians did not find many options in the menu. Also the prices were quite steep ..Rs 65 for a single medium sized chapati/roti/paratha. Also, we didn't find many people using the restaurant. I guess most of the guests here are those come to the city for business purposes and opt to eat elsewhere ..thats the reason why the restaurant always wore a deserted look. Anyways, we chose to have breakfast, lunch at a Udipi hotel located at paldi cross, about a km from the hotel.

The travel desk was helpful esp the person at the reception Mr Ramesh Pandit. Nice, helpful guy. On the second day of our stay, we engaged a cab to go Dakor through the travel desk. The cab did suffer problems enroute but the driver managed to get us there and back in time. So kudos to him and the folks at travel desk. I did feel that the cab rental charges were a bit high but considering their service I guess it was ok.

All in all, an ok experience and satisfactory stay at the hotel.
