We checked in at The Fort Ramgarh on 17th August morning at 2 AM while coming back from Kufri. We had taken two Royal Suites. The AC leaked continuously in one of the rooms and the water soaked the bed sheets. In the second room, the AC stopped functioning after half an hour. We were there for 2 nights, so we changed our rooms to Imperial Suites. However, the story remained the same and the ACs stopped working after periodically after some time.

Another strange practice was that the complete amount was taken in advance for each and every item. I ordered 1 bottle of water in the morning, and the waiter asked for INR 47 to be paid in advance for the bottle. After an hour, I again ordered for water and tea and the waiter again asked the payment in advance. It felt as if we were staying in a lodge rather than in a Heritage property.

The rooms and washroom were very dirty and stinky. The washroom next to the restaurant smelled like a Bus Depot common toilet. The corridors, stairways, common areas were unkempt and really shabby.

The staff was untrained to handle any calls or calls for service. The food was really lousy.

The property otherwise is good but the maintenance and service standards are too low. It does not give you a feeling that you are staying in a Heritage property.

Room Tip: Avoid the property if you can.

Really disappointed with this place. We had a three day official conference here and on day 2 itself we were looking for other options to shift. The ACs in the rooms, conference and restaurant stopped working periodically, leaving us sweating in the June weather. The food varied from bad to mediocre, one of my colleagues found a cockroach in his dessert. The staff is untrained, repeated requests to room service go unfulfilled. One day they totally forgot to make the room, the utensils from previous night dinner kept lying in the room for nearly 24 hours before i had to keep them outside in the gallery. And finally the fort is really tiny, so even the heritage experience was missing. Dont come here.

Room Tip: Book in some other property

Amongst other things , people and the service make all the difference in customer experience. That is exactly what Rajiv Chalana did to organise cake and the cake cutting ceremony for daughter at Ramgarh fort since we could join her . Thanks Rajiv for all your efforts

I visited this place during December last year, it was extremely cold at that time. Further, a lot of arrangements were specifically for our family, hence, I have no clue how the food there is.

Pro: Nice spacious property, Some kind of adventure park being built nearby, decent rooms

Cons: Ill-equipped rooms (Most of them did not have heaters), Boring

Room Tip: Tree House if you dare.

One of the finest place we have ever stayed in. The entrance of the hotel is a huge wooden gate. We were informed that the gate is opened during wedding ceremonies and e few other occassions. The inside of the hotel was like a fort. The hotel had its own museum. The services were excellent.

Been there with friends family ,,,they are regular to this place for having food there. But this time the food is useless ..most of the items sent back to kitchen and they agree that they have a 3 or 4 parties going on in there hotel/resort ..so that's why the service and food is below average...the place is fine and the restaurant is very small n congested ...also this is old building and the walls of the restaurant / hotel is in poor condition ...so personally this is not a hygienic place ...
