“Excellent Rafting Location”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

When we went Shimla in April, we didnt go anywhere else like Mashobra, Kufri. We came straight here and were surprised by rafting. In fact I was not really aware that one can do rafting. We did 12 kms patch here. It was mix of still waters and rapids. The still waters were somewhat deep and one can swim. However the water was sooooooo cold, that I didnt dare to jump in water.

Dont miss the hot springs at the end. You will see natural springs. At other places like near Manali, you will find the kund built around and not really natural setting.

Also ensure to bargain enough before you go ahead with the rafting. Also note that there are no changing facility at the end of rafting. So be aware and be planned. Also some average food joints available. Otherwise there is nothing for quite a bit of time.

“River Rafting - A must do”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

The 12 km stretch from Chaba to Tattapani - river rafting option is amazing. Must do - the sutlej is great for beginers, we even had our 5 year old. They are particular about safety with life jackets and helmets. Can cost anything between 650 ( for 6 km) and 1000 (for 12 km) per person - Bargain on your way as we had got many different quotes on the way

“Exciting river”
Reviewed 7 April 2014

This was the end point of a river rafting expedition.
The river was a real surprise. We found hot steam going up in some areas. We got in and moved around. At some points the water was so very cold. But a few feet away it was boiling hot! People were just lying in the water and enjoying the hot sulphur springs spewing all over the river bed. An experience you can never forget.
Tip: Please take a set of clothes since you can change in the rooms available. There are bathrooms also with the hot suphur water from the river.

“Sulphur spring is attraction”
Reviewed 6 April 2014

Tattapani is very famous for sulphur spring where you will find the ground water hot when other places even freezing cold.

It is long drive from Shimla by car through mountains but worthwhile to take to see the on the nature's beauty and mountains.

We got relaxed and felt good after taking a bath and seeing at the nature.

Most unfortunate part was we could take rafting due to widely fluctuating water force on that day.
