Edinburgh castle, Scotland is the the first thing which comes to my mind after seeing it. It has not only crossed my expectations but also made me a permanent visitor for the coming years. Be it the exterior or the interior there is not even a single thing which lacks quality, be it the royal parkour or the spacious rooms or even the linen used. The staff is extremely polite and more than happy to help you. Not even for a Day did I feel that no one is willing to work. From the day I booked Mr. Sunil has been really cooperative Nd helpful. Be it Nishat himself or an ever smiling tulsi, their personal touch makes the stay so comfortable and warm. The food also is of par excellence both quality and quantity. The Mohis have made a small world the English way in Manali. Calm and serene, away from the rush and lavishly green. A quiet meal by the pool or a nice coffee in the parlour both take your breath away with snow clad mountains as your view. A walk to the mall road or hadimba or old manali all are enjoyable and close by.
I wait to return to The Himalyan for another vacation. Thank you for making my break so comfortable and relaxing.

A chance discovery on Conde Nast, and voila we found ourselves parked at this lovely hotel. This was one of my most memorable holidays ever! Right from the beginning my interaction with the hotel has been flawless...Mr Sunil (the Manager) was most hospitable and accommodated all my family's needs. You just needed to ask them and they would get it for you! My entire 10 day stay was so beautiful and enjoyable.
Coming to this majestic castle – The Mohis have created a beautiful resort...shaped like a scottish castle. Must walk up the winding stairs to the Crows Nest to get the such dramatic 360 degree views of the valley! The reading room was full of antiquities...so royally designed and dressed. the beautiful "french" artworks adorning the walls were most delightfully translated by my french speaking daughter!! The wi-fi was free but had connectivity only near the reception area...we had carried our photon wifi carrier so we had decent connectivity even in our cottage which was furthest away. The bar was aptly named "the dungeon"...walking down the winding staircase into a cozy den. We stayed in cottage no 1....each of the cottages had their own tiny private garden and were two-storeyed. The large spacious master bedroom with a writing desk on the first floor and a large bath tub inside the bedroom, though there was a nice clean shower closet in the bathroom; was right away snapped up by the kids. With the bay window on one side and a small balcony on the other, this room was always lit with natural sunlight throughout the day. Lovely wooden staircase took you to the ground level which had a little open plan kitchenette, dining seating for four, and small living area with a sofa cum bed and of course the second smaller bedroom with a bay window and attached toilet. Must say, the toilets were clean and well-made. Both rooms had a flat screen television. We ended up eating our breakfast almost everyday on our tiny little front lawn, under the shade of the trees, with gentle winds and bright sunshine.
I was really impressed with both Neeraj and Nishant and of course Tulsi with their passion for this magnificent edifice. They have not only created a great masterpiece but attention to detail and maintaining an army of hospitable staff is their foremost strength!
The hotel was running full capacity and yet the service was flawless....the cottages were a bit spaced out, yet the smiling staff catered to our each and every whim or desire.
The giant trampoline was a life saver...whenever my 14 year old or 5 year old would be idle...they would find themselves jumping crazy on the trampoline...this would continue for hours!!! We had carried a lot of board games age appropriate for my children....all four of us would play together...HAD REAL FAMILY TIME. The outdoor pool was divine, though we ventured only on 'REAL' hot days...the freezing waters didn't deter even my 5 year old. After the swim, lazing on the sunbeds sipping our drinks was too much fun. Food was again really delicious at the resort, though we tried only the Indian cuisine, as we were eating one principle meal out...For good french food try the La plage of Goa, excellent pizzas at Casa bella (Martha's blackberry cheesecake are to die for), Lovely drinks and snacks near the river at Lazy Dog, or drive down to Fate Plate (excellent outdoor restaurant run by an ex-Taj chef!!) I will surely return.......and the only place that I can ever stay in manali will be the gorgeous Himalayan Resort & Spa.

Room Tip: All cottages are well placed and with good views, cottage 3 is good with children as it overlooks th...

This is more of an art hotel, beautiful collection by the owners.
The lawns, gardens, restaurant, bar, drawing room are beautifully decorated
It looks like a typical british architecture, one of the unique building in manali
The rooms are done very well, the four poster bed in classy and so is the sitting area and other amenities.
The hotel is staff is so helpful and friendly
The food in the hotel is excellent
The view from the hotel's observatory is incredible, you get to see the birds eye of the whole manali and also the snow covered peak of the great himalayas
Manali itself is a terrific place and a great hotel adds to the charm and comfort, location is ideal
Whoever is looking to make a special holiday in mountains should choose and Manali as the destination and "The Himalayan" as the sleeping choice
Kudos guys, keep up the good work

I remembered Manali as one of the beautiful places since I last visited almost 12 years ago. June 2014 - all I saw was hoards of people and numerous traffic jams with air contaminated with vehicle fumes. "The Himalyan " was like a breath of fresh air. We stayed for 3 nights and we hardy left the resort. Building is made like a castle with modern amenities. Lots of greenery and great view of the mountains. The menu was interesting and most food we had delicious. Waiters were very polite and helpful and but need little more training as they often forgot to get complete meal. Eg: Pancakes without syrup or sausage/baked beans without the toast. I would recommend this resort to people who love the nature and want to be away from the crowds.

We were a family of 4 people. We stayed for around a week in the cottage. The food was sumptuous with a beautiful view to long for. We had our breakfasts on the pool side with a view of Himalayas. The kitchen given to us was self sufficient. If one is fond of continental dishes do try them they are simply awesome. Although we did feel that they should give some exhaust in washrooms although they are neat and clean. We would recommend this hotel to have a luxurious trip.

We have stayed at the Himalayan several times. First the good part - Room no. 1 in the castle was a spacious room with a even roomier balcony from which you get fantastic unobstructed views of the valley & neighboring mountains. This is especially appealing as you are right in the middle of Manali with everything being within walking distance and are spared the really haphazard and ugly development that has taken place all over Manali town. There is also an apple orchard at the other end of the property where you can have picnics. The staff at the reception and the lady-owner are quite helpful and in the off-season are very forthcoming with discounts even.

Now for the not-so-good part - The spa is so-so and I felt that i could've spent my time better. The food is pretty average although we did enjoy sitting around the pool where they serve lunch. The room service is slow which is expected in the mountains. Having said that i did feel that a place that is in this price range & markets itself as 'premier luxury resort' ought to try a little hard. Lastly, and this is the reason we stopped going there, we found the owner to be quite rude, abrupt & lacking knowledge of his guests. we had before going asked if pets were allowed and were told that they were welcome so we took our little dog with us. On the 2nd or 3rd day of us having been there, and this was our 3rd or 4th visit, we were confronted by the owner and asked how we had gotten the dog along. We were quite puzzled and after he was informed by the front desk that prior permission had been sought he didn't even bother to apologize. The owner's high-handed attitude especially stood out for me and i got a distinct feeling that he feels that he is the 'premier' part of the resort.
