“4000 years old Historic Vashisht temple.”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

The very ancient Vashisht temple is in old Manali, about 6 Kms from Manali. It is a calm village presently busy with many shops selling mostly pure wool clothes and beautiful cafes
Vashisht was named after Rishi Vashisht one of the seven sages of Hindu. Legend has it that the saddened Rishi Vashisht after learning that his children were killed by Vishwamitra tried to commit suicide. But the river refused to kill him. The river was therefore named as Vipasha which literally means ‘freedom from bondage’. It was later shortened to Beas River. He began mediating and vowed to start his life anew. The Vashisht temple which exists even today is believed to be more than 4000 years.
There’s also another ancient stone temple known as Rama Temple adjacent to the Vashisht Temple. Vashisht village is an important Hindu Pilgrimage centre.
Vashisht offers an excellent view of the Beas River and the Old Manali. The river valley spread below at sunset gives and excellent sight and great for Photography.
Hot water springs are part of the temple area. Separate enclosures are kept for ladies and gents to have a dip in the hot water springs.

Reviewed 2 June 2014 via mobile

Beas kund also known as Byas nala in local language. It is a place where Beas river originate;hence too scenic beauty. It comes on the way to Rohtang.we visited here bcoz Rohtang pass has been closed at that time.one can do lots of snow fun here, but not river rafting.Neither this place had a temple or hot water spring.
Here u found ...snow.n.snow all around...snow valleys...calm.. clean ..clear ..ice blue water...which inhance the beauty of this place.
