Stayed two nights recently at the Red House Café during a week-long motorcycle trip through Himalchal Pradesh with friends. Road much of the day and arrived tired and happy at the Red House to be greeted by Raj and his staff and a couple of cold drinks, great music, and excellent food. Enjoyed fresh local trout the first night and after a ride up to the Rohtang Pass, mutton curry, the next. The great food was shared around a crackling campfire. Raj has an eclectic mix of music and even will sing a song or two himself as the night wears on. Highly recommend the Red House Café as an Oasis in the midst of Manali.

Room Tip: Ask for an upstairs room as they are a bit more isolated with a nice porch and view down onto the ga...

This is a nice inn where you will get best of the food and warm, cordial and friendly atmosphere. Only difficulties may be the 34 stairs.
View from the room is excellent. It is the best place to relax your mind in the lap of nature. Sound of the river from balcony is really a nice experience.

Visited RedHouse Cafe the last time I was in Manali with my clients on a Motorcycle Tour and fell in love with the place.

Right from the entry, up a set of stairs from the road, to the entry gate with its Sign... the first thing which you experience is the music... what an amazing collection of music! The next thing you take in is that table with a pile of books on. You like one, pick it up and read... the next thing to catch your eye would be the sign which says "Disaster Area." You guessed it right... its the pass table of the kitchen, but that is where the sign loses all its meaning... I have never in my life had egg sandwiches which tasted so nice. Loved the Liquid Sunshine Sandwich, which was my staple for breakfast for the two days we spent here. Yogi, the guy behind the counter dishes out yummy dishes one after another and Raj keeps you entertained with his anecdotes, experiences and in the evenings, with his guitar and Live Singing session...

A triple whammy of good food, nice and neat rooms and amazing hospitality! Definitely my first choice for staying in Manali for sure.

Room Tip: 1st n 2nd Floor rooms for the views, Ground floor rooms for the proximity to the garden and the kitc...

I had not heard of this place before, through a simple twist of fate we ended up here. But it didn't take us long to feel right at home.Yogi and Raj welcome you with open hearts and their grandma's mutton curry. The food is heavenly, service is excellent, each and everyone is helpful.
The road to the cafe is uphill, the climb is tiring but totally worth it. The outdoor seating is quaint, music is always there, the garden(the apple trees) is lovely, the folks are cheerful and friendly. The rooms are neat and spacious(the higher the floor the greater the view).
IT'S A PLACE WHERE YOU ARE ALWAYS WELCOME.

Room Tip: the higher the floor the greater the view

My first time in Manali - traveling with 2 friends. We stayed at the Red House Cafe (recommended by a friend who had stayed there earlier) and what a great time we had. Raj and Yogi were some of the most friendly and helpful people we met during our stay. They helped us a lot with sorting our travel plans and transport. We had initially only planned to stay here for two nights during our entire stay of six in Old Manali. We liked the place so much despite the climb from the road and felt at home that we ended up staying there for four nights. The rooms are simple - spacious and clean. The food is probably the best part about Red House. My favourite was the Chow Mein noodles. The portions are big and the price is good. And you can tell that Raj and Yogi put a lot of heart into the food and ambience. There's always music playing and you can play your own music too. Raj also has a really interesting collection of books - which I wish I had the time to read properly. The only issue we had was the WiFi connection being weak on a couple of days.

On some nights they have a campfire and play guitar and sing around it. We did this on the last night - with a full moon and good company, making it a very memorable night. All in all, we had a blast at Red House. I would definitely recommend the place to anybody who wants to relax and enjoy in good company.

Room Tip: Get rooms on the second floor - better views

Stayed here with the wife while on bike trip.. just very peaceful clean, rooms with views on 3 sides and sit outs amid complete greenery.. and of course the music wafting from the garden is amazing and all day.
Raj and Yogi great hosts, cooks and company.. Rates are very reasonable for longer stays ( kitchenette etc) and place is tranquility but close to old Manali action ;)

Will be back..

Room Tip: Higher the better..
