“Heritage Mughal Gardens at its best”
Review of Mughal Gardens

Mughal Gardens

All the Heritage Mughal Gardens were well maintained inside, neatly manicured hedges, green carpeted lawns, water bodies within, neatly flowing water canals from a height from one end of the garden to the other, fountains and many, many mynahs, sparrows and pigeons. One of them had spring water which was the main attraction. The entrance to all the gardens were typically mughal and the architecture showed. At all the gardens, they had vendors who let you hire the bright coloured Kashmiri costume for as little as Rs 150/- per person and the photographers charged you another Rs 150/- per photograph. Worth it, as the photographs looked great and for the everlasting memories.

Beautiful garden with beautiful flowers blooming during spring time! Just that all the gardens we visited, we will be approached by people who claimed to be gardeners there (but they are not) and asking for money. Just be weary.

This place can easily be given a miss by anyone who is a traveler rather than a tourist. The garden is very beautiful but there are too many people and the main attraction, which is the wall painting and fresco dating back to to the Mughal period is severely damaged and poorly maintained. What once was stunningly beautiful art is marred by stracthing of names and love signs etc. It is a pity that these wall painting and fresco are not better protected by glass panels.
