“Stunning”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

This is one of my favourite monasteries east of Leh. Looks great from a distance and better close up. Interiors of the various temples and the small museum are nothing particularly special. View of the surrounding area is also very good. Worth seeing as part of a day trip from Leh to see the eastern monastery circuit.

“Doorway to Hunder Valley”
Reviewed 28 June 2014

The road to Hunder passes through this small village with a large monastery. The statue of "Future Buddha" stands 75 mtr tall and looks stunning amidst the stark landscape. The views from the parapet is equally awesome. Many people miss out the monastery, but once you reach, although the climb can be tiresome, the views appear even more pristine. One must go up to the monastery
