following are "my personal opinions" about this place
as per title this is fully commercialized place starting from the entry fee 20/- + 100/- camera (which nobody bothers to check)
3-4 temples are in row in a way that you can't escape or bypass any of them
pujari show their arrogant side when we ask to bypass the temple
IMO there's no actual spiritual meaning in having koti (crore) shivlinga in real so those who can digest this concept shall visit.
parking fee 50rs. road is ok.
We didn't expected that much crowd but still managed to have a good day out and felt so spiritual after darshan.. The road was in good condition until the highway after that huge potholes and a single lane for two ways. But can be managed. Except one food court there is absolutely none until the end ..with children we should carry loads of food and water 😄

Visited this temple in August with my family. Plan was to start by 9 AM and come back to Bangalore by 4 PM and trip was perfect, completed in planned time covering 3 temples Lord Someshwara Temple, Kolaramma temple and kotilingeshwara temple.
Kotilingeshwara Temple is a good one time visit. It has 90 lakhs plus Shiva Lingas but this place is pure commercial place. Priest will lock you in a temple and complete puja and give you arti and post that they will open a door. There are almost 5 temples where they will close the door and do puja. You cannot even skip any puja.
At last you will get to see all Shiva Lingas.
Highway is good. Parking place is available and is chargeable. Rs 10 ticket is there to enter temple.
It will be crowded on weekends as people come in buses to see this temple.
Two unique things about this temple is that it houses the largest Shiva Linga and the highest number of Shiva Lingas. There are close to 90 lacs Shiva Lingas in this temple. More Shiva Lingas are being added to increase the number to 1 crore. The main deity of this temple is Lord Shiva who is worshipped in Linga form here. Apart from Shiva, there are Brahma Temple, Vishnu Temple, Ganesha temple and Hanuman temple in the complex. We were over joyed to see the largest Shiva Linga and massive statue of Nandi in this temple.
I have visited the place long back as a one day trip with my friends. The place is unique and good as you can see more then 90 lakh shive lingas and the world largest shivalinga as well. The priest were demanding for money is the bad thing and should be avoided to make the place more to visit.
We were staying at a nearby farmhouse for celebrating Valentines day. Decided to visit this temple in the evening and I was very excited hearing that there is a temple with one crore shivalingas nearby. I am very fond of ancient temples and I was under the impression that all theses 1 crore shivalingas are maybe natural rock formations. What I found was a completely commercialized temple with artificial shivalingas installed by the donors, size of the lingas representing the amount(their goal is to reach 1 crore such installations). The temple itself is a large complex with lot of other deities also having their dedicated small temples. It has a HUGE shivalinga also, claimed to be the largest in country. But I was appalled by conditions of some of the shivalingas installed and I wondered how can the priests take care of all these shivalingas because they are huge in number. Once you do a sthapana of a shivalinga you have to do regular pooja of it which is simply not possible due to sheer number of them found here. I found many of them broken also and there should not be a 'khandit' (broken) murti in a hindu temple. Went there with very high hopes but came back thoroughly appalled and sad.
You can reach here from Bangalore via kolar road. It is a 3 hrs pleasant drive. Not many food options along the way so better carry your own food. I would not recommend coming here just for the temple. you should club it with some other attractions or visit this as a pit stop along somewhere else.
