Takes 3 hours to reach from Bangalore.
Own transport recommended.
No decent hotels after Kolar. No hotels after Mulbagal.
Road till Mulbagal is 4 lane. 2 lane thereafter till the temple.
Better to visit in evenings, 4-6 pm.
Can spend 1 hour Max inside the temple.

Hi

We visited kotilingeswara Temple on 11th Nov 2016(Kammasandra, near KGF, karnataka).
We started at around 6:30 marathahalli Bangalore. Its around 100 KM from my place, took 2 hr to reach.

This Temple is very commercial for linga prathistha (small siva linga) they charged 7500/- and 500 for pooja.

Linga prathista starts fromm 7500/- 70000/- based on linga size.

The administration is worst, people not responded properly, for us it took around 3 hrs for linga prathista.

Though temple earning huge money every day they don't have any phone number.

Surroudings also not that much clean.

To visit this place does not need planning. It is near to Bangalore and ideal place for 1 day short trip with family and friends. I left Bangalore @ 9 A.M from HAL and reached at 11.15 A.M.
I was amazed after seeing lakhs of Shivlinga and great statue of Nandi. We also visited temples of Mahadev, Vishnu and Brahma. It is also great place to take snap with family.

A wonderful place for religious people and especially who are all devoted to Lord shiva.

From the KGF bus stand it comes around 7 kms, have good parking and then entry fee. The way is properly structured you can't zig zag or skip, you need to go one by one. The temple priest will tell about the brief of the temple, as per the latest visit there are 90 lakhs linga's.
Then you can roam and see the linga's and a huge nadhi it can be seen from the road itself.

Preferred time : Morning or Evening due to hot sunlight you can't walk in open way.
