“original chinese ...if you game”
Reviewed 7 July 2013

the place is not anything to brag about but the food is. This is authentic Chinese food served with love by the family that has been running this in Bangalore for over 12 years. If you are passing by Kammanahalli or are ordering food in the vicinity of Hennur and Banaswadi ...try them out.

“Very average”
Reviewed 1 July 2013

It used to be good during my visits 2009, then all became so normail same menu. Value went down, focus was out. Not looking for any more visits. Need to look into guest choice.

“Electric service, average food, bare-bones ambience”
Reviewed 10 August 2012

Located in a happening area of the city-scape with plenty of dine-out choices - ranging from upper-middle to the low-end tariffed restaurants, serving cuisine, including the eclectic Mediterranean - Peking is an abberation. The good part first....the service is electric. With just a handful of stewards, one look is enough to get them to appear. Even last minute changes to the menu surprised us with the urgency with which the change was plated. Located in a simple low-ceiling room all of 200 square feet, with tables numbering a dozen four-seaters, this is no large place. It gives the feel of a typical Indian 'fast-food' chinese corner, and now seems to have mildly metamorphosed up a notch in the market. This is no fine dine, nor is the tarrif as low as it appears from the settings. (We spent INR 750 for a meal for two, with no soups or dessert. They do not serve alcohol/mocktails either).Even the 'indo-Chinese' food served has a different blend/twist to it, which could spell anathema to the purist. Names to the dishes were confounding, but the taste and flavours were definitely fusion. We ordered a fish lemon chilly, where the fish was fresh, but not as tangy or spicy as it should be; Lee Fu Prawns(who was that?!) with the gravy containing excess coriander leaves mashed in; batter-coated bacon-wrapped-prawns which were good; Schezwan fried rice that tasted like singapore fried rice. Kind of an average experience - for just once. Oh yes, we were served desserts "on the house", and were left flummoxed as to whether this was a marketing gimmick, or an apology of sorts. And no answers either! Well...
